On the first day.....

I've wanted to begin this journey for quite some time. No telling where it will lead, but at least it is going forward. Be gentle with me I'm new at this.
My background is in consumer studies. That and interior design are what I hold degrees in but my real interest is politics, foreign policy and human rights. Shortly after college I lived for several years in Southeast Asia as an expatriate. Thus began my fascination with how our government behaves and how it is perceived by other world citizens. Over the years I have traveled to Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Okinawa, Guam, The Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, England and Holland. Hopefully this gives me a base for my opinions that has a global perspective.
It's been a slow news weekend but the mystery of why AC landed in Los Angeles after the comedy award mc gig in Las Vegas seems to be solved. The mystery of why AC didn't take a change of clothes for a 4 day trip is still just that.

Phebe, wow! You've lead a rather interesting life. I love traveling and I'm pretty jealous of all your travels!

I really wanted to study interior design (for years I've had an interest in it) but the only place I can study anywhere near where I live is over $75,000 for 3 years! So, I've kinda given up on that for now. I'm 34 and still can't figure out what I want to do with my life!

Anyway, I find it very interesting that quite a few of the people I've met(on the internet) that are fans of Anderson are well-traveled (or at least extremly interested in it), into politics and human rights. Perhaps it's because (at least for me) I admire that he's just gone out there and done it and that he's still seems very committed to finding the truth and not taking BS.

Anyway, I'll shut up now and go to bed. I can't believe I've wasted most of my day off on the computer :( LOL

Hi Phebe ...

It's good to know that you have travelled far and wide. I'm another addition to Anderson's fan club. I was very inspired by Anderson. I first saw him on Oprah, a couple of months ago launching his book.

I have always wanted to be a journalist reporting the truth but I am far from being a reporter. It was Anderson's mom's encouragment to look for his own bliss that had also struck a cord in me to pursue mine. I'm taking baby steps as I manage to get myself involved with magazine publication.

Needless to say, it was not only Anderson's good looks that grabbed me and started me googling about all things Anderson. Anyway, I got on to your blog and I must say, you provide good reads and updates on him. We don't get AC 360 on our cable television so I look up your blog.

All the other links that you have on your blog has provided me with loads of great pix of Anderson and I have him on my office desktop to keep me going at work, and at home, especially when I have rotten days with the bosses.

To me, Anderson is a reminder that my complains are small and petty by comparison to the unfortunte. In fact, I should always give my best at everything I do, no matter big or small, and truly live life to the best while contributing to society.

Like you, I love travelling and seeing the culture of different places. Again, to remind me that we're living on a rather small planet where things do go around and come around.

Keep up the great postings and pix. You know I'm going to be a regular from this part of the world ...

Take care,
