Anderson in Nahariyah and on Letterman

screencap by legionpossessed

I spent a good part of today thinking, and even worrying, about Anderson Cooper. There is a big difference between enjoying 'field Anderson' in NOLA and 'field Anderson' in the middle of an armed combat zone. Anderson's Blackberry post, to the 360 blog, telling us he was racing into Nahariyah didn't help calm my fears either. And then there was the heart stopping moment, during the show, when Anderson ducked and whipped around to see what the noise was behind him. At least it caused him to put the flack vest on. I guess Anderson is an adrenaline junkie 'cause he sure seems to enjoy nights like tonight.

Anderson said at the end of tonight's show that he'd be broadcasting a special edition of 360 on Sunday night and again from the region on Monday night. I'm not sure what to expect after that. The elections in The Congo are scheduled for July 30th. Does that mean Anderson will be taking some much need vacation time before covering the elections or will he return home? My guess is vacation, but only time will tell. I usually don't look forward to the Andervacations but ATA's good friend Bleedblue has sent us a supply of Nth degree videos for downloading. I'll be sharing them with you in the days to come.

Moving from the scary to the adorkable. If you watched Letterman tonight (and I'm sorry I forgot to remind you) you know we were treated to some new stories, some new young Anderson footage and some interesting conversation. Most of you know the Letterman appearance was filmed on Monday night, before all this turmoil started. Anderson appeared relaxed, engaging and semi embarrassed by the footage of himself on 'To Tell The Truth'. I have heard him describe this appearance but never have I seen the footage. Truly adorable. And, like his appearance on Jeopardy, again he won!

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Could that hat been made from the purple beaver coat that Anderson was embarassed his Mom wore to his school on occasion?

I gasped when he jerked his head around during the show. I couldn't hear a thing on camera but he's been doing this long enough that I bet he can detect the faintest sound of rockets and gunfire.

I want to see a picture of Anderson on a camel. Do you think he was wearing an Arabian outfit while riding it?

I can imagine him on the camel, pecking at his blackberry and wondering why he's paid so much to be dragged around in the desert.

Baby Andy is adorable! That clip is like the holy grail of Anderclips so I'm glad we all finally got to see a minute or two of it!

Is anyone going to post a link to that video? I didn't get to see Letterman. My dish wasn't working, DANG! He looks soooo cute there.

Ellee, someone posted the video of Letterman on Anderloads - however, I don't have a yousendit account, so can't take a look at it. Hopefully you can access it.
