Hey y'all! I hope you are having a wonderful day! I realize that there are some of our readers who believe in Sylvia Browne’s psychic powers. I will, of course respect those beliefs in my post tonight but I will state upfront that I am not a believer. Now, I’m not saying that there aren’t people out there with psychic powers. I very much believe in, shall we say “forces of nature” or “being in tune with the universe.” And with that thought in mind, I’d like to talk about Anderson’s interview last night with Browne’s business manager, Linda Rossi and psychic debunker James Randi.
Alright, I’m sitting here rewatching this interview segment and one thing is for sure; these kinds of debates just hurt my head. Make no mistake, I thought Anderson was awesome for taking that ridiculous Linda Rossi to task. This woman dug Sylvia Browne a much deeper hole, I’ll tell you. I was actually screaming at my TV last night for that woman to shut the heck up! (I really didn’t use the word "heck" but I’ll let you think I’m kinda classy!) Lord, Anderson’s responses to her were just awesome! I love when he gets all riled up! Who could blame him for being unbiased when this woman who was supposed to be presenting credible predictions was basically spouting inconsistencies and untruths. When asked about Browne’s predictions regarding Shawn Hornbeck, this woman said “Because we still don't have the body of this case. We don't know....” (see AC360 transcript 1/30/2007) Um, hmm… Idiot, Shawn Hornbeck is ALIVE! Thank goodness Ms. Browne was incorrect on this one.
And when Anderson addressed Ms. Browne’s fee for readings, Rossi had this to say:
ROSSI: She does make $700 -- she doesn't make $700. The $700 that she charges, unsolicited. She never asks for anyone to do that. The same with, you know -- the same with our religious beliefs. People come to us seeking our help.
If you go on her website under the About Your Reading section this is what you will find:
Finally, Sylvia and Chris have very strict ethics about their work. At no time do they discuss your reading with anyone. You have complete privacy, which is never violated. Also, they do not publish or in any way distribute a list of their clients.
Fees
Phone reading with Sylvia - $750
Phone reading with Chris - $450
A phone consultation with Sylvia or Chris lasts approximately 20-30 minutes.
I don’t know about you but it seems that Ms. Browne asks for her fee upfront. And by the way, her “psychic by birth son” gets a whole boatload of money for a ½ hour session as well.
Again, I’d like to reiterate that I do believe in psychic powers. I have had readings done in my life and I have actually stumbled upon one or two very accurate readers. But the readers I’ve had only charge $50 per ½ hour at most. And I think I’ve stated this here at ATA previously, it’s completely unprofessional to tell a person on air or in private that their missing loved one is dead. If you have admitted yourself, on your website, that you are not 100% accurate, you should not be proclaiming anyone’s death as if it is fact. There are ways to state this so-called spiritual vibe in a less harmful and dramatic fashion. Yes, people come to Sylvia Browne and others like her looking for closure because they are desperate and hurting. They are willing to pay any amount of money for answers. It should be the reader’s moral compass not to prey on these grieving customers for monetary gain. I’m thinking her spiritual link to God would tell her that. No? Alright, I’ll drop the snark. Sorry about that.
I’ve read in the comments section where people are saying that Anderson was showing his bias last night. No, Anderson was reacting to a woman who was just not giving him the clear evidence he was looking for. You cannot blame him for getting peeved about her debating tactics either. My lord, I wanted to strangle the woman, myself. I’m quite surprised Anderson Cooper remained as calm as he did! Kudos to him!
Here is my psychic prediction for tonight’s show: Anderson Cooper will be looking mighty fine somewhere in America or maybe outside the country. Could be wearing pinstripes or not. Maybe a red tie or not. Maybe his field shirt or not. The picture’s a little cloudy but one thing’s for sure, he’ll look awesome!
Dude, sorry! I couldn’t resist!
Okay, enough of this psychic stuff for now. I think I’ll end this post on a more interesting note. These screencaps are for my friends who requested Michael Ware and the imfamous Otay Mesa, CA tunnel.

Thank you thank you thank you for the Mick Ware caps!
Although I don't believe in psychic phenomenon I do believe that we all get feelings in certain situations and they may or not be correct. But to charge 750.00/ 20 - 30 minutes is just taking advantage of people. I loved Anderson last night when he tried to keep Sylvia's PR person on the up and up. He has said he doesn't like it when people dance(my word) around a question and keep evading answering it. When he kept bringing up that Sylvia's site calls her a psychic first and foremost I kept yelling at the television telling him to go after her.
My prediction for tonight he will be in pinstripes and a blue tie or will it be the YR one. Or will he be on at all he didn't say see you tomorrow.
Great predictions for tonight.....no matter what it is all good.....yummy Anderson, but if I had to guess....pinstripe suit/white shirt/red tie.....oh predicting is hard :P
Grace I noticed also that he didn't say "see you tomorrow" either He has been on a lot lately, I wonder if we are at the beginning of a vacation. I guess we will find out at 9:45.
I was yelling at my tv last night tell him to keep after that woman. He was really riled up (in a good way) on this subject last night.
Since there have been request for pictures, does anyone have one from Monday night when he was in the blue shirt in San Antonio when he had his hand on his chin. I don't know why I think that pose is so sexy, but I do (I think it has to do with his hands) and I bet his blue eyes would really be shinning in a picture like that. The picture would be greatly appreciated.
I missed last night's show. Did they have Sylvia's website on the big monitor to show everyone her non-sense? That would be good if they had it projecting from AC's laptop.
@sheryn:
Thanks for the great predictions. If you are right, I will send you a crystal ball special delivery via Federal Express.
Personally, I am looking for the young Republican tie tonight. I know it is the least favorite on this blog. I just like the colors. UM, should I go by DH a young Repulican tie? Oh, no, then I would have to dye his hair too! Something tells me that may be way over the top! :)
So you predict Anderson will look awesome tonight? Holy crap, you're a genius! :-)
All kidding aside, DH and I just got done watching the show and took turns yelling at the TV during the Sylvia Browne segment. Sorry, but this chick is just a con artist.
I do believe that some people are more intune to others, but I think that is due to an innate ability to read body language and interpret voice inflection, rather than the ability to actually view far away events. This enables them to either deduce certain things about that person, or to figure out what they want to hear. For someone to just talk to someone and be able to tell them where someone else is, sorry I don't buy that.
What can I say about Michael Ware that hasn't already been said? We were just fascinated by his report. Of course, now my hubby wants a table map! LOL
@grace, I agree that charging $750 for a 20 minute phone conversation is taking advantage. Who the hell does she think she is??? It just frustrates me when people take advantage of others. Sylvia's business manager is ridiculous. Clearly that woman cannot do her job. I also agree with Sheryn that this business manager is just digging Sylvia's hole bigger and bigger. I don't have anything against psychics. I do believe that there are people out there who do have psychic ability, however I don't think Sylvia Browne is one. And what little ability she does, she exploits it for money.
Oh and if I had to predict what Andy is going to wear tonite I say, black suit, white shirt and that balck tie with the silver stripe.
I believe some people may have some psychic abilities, but not all these people we see on TV or those 1-888- phone nos. I feel sorry for families who have lost a loved one and need to find closure, but can't. I certainly wouldn't tell someone on national TV that their loved one was dead. How disrespectful! I do believe Anderson gave her a good smackdown last night! I'm feeling kind of psychic myself right now. I think Anderson will be wearing pin stripes, blue shirt, and a red tie tonight. LOL. Good post with pics, Sheryn. But I'd like the tunnel pic of his "behind" as he's descending down that stairwell! LOL! Trying to keep it clean!
@acanderfan I completely forgot about the black tie w/silver stripe - that's my fave with a crisp white shirt & black suit is way sexy for me.
1/3 YEA whit shirt!!!.....i went with the red tie cause he has wore so much blue lately.....but he looks so good tonight :)
I'm sorry I haven't been commenting, the new job and training is tough right now, I'm not getting enough sleep and I have personal issues.
I am printing and reading the blog w/comments during my regulated lunch break, and I'm watching AC360.
You guys are doing great blogs and it is hard to keep up with all the posts! I can't wait to read today's posts.
I just wanted to share a commercial I've seen twice tonight. I backed it up and paused it so many times to get the words and gestures...then 30 minutes later I get to the very end and there is the website with the commercial right there. It is http://www.votevets.org/ The commercial playing in Indiana says to tell Senator Richard Lugar, but I'm sure everyone is directed to their own representative.
Time for the man...then bed...hmmm...maybe the naughty chair too.
Michael Ware is a damn handsome man, but I wish he'd get that nose fixed.
@grace, that's my fave too. That's why I said I thought he'd wear it. Of course it's just wishful thinking. I don't think he's worn it since December. He does look sexy when he wears it.
Now what I think would look really sexy is if he wore that outfit and his hair was messy. I mean don't get me wrong, I like his perfect looking hair, but sometimes when it looks too perfect, I just want to run my hands through it and mess it up. I think he'd look cute with his hair messed up.
@acanderfan..you were close..black suit, white shirt...75%..you must be psychic! By the way the silver and black tie is my fav with the black suit!
@em, yes you're right. I must be psychic since I was 75% right...lol. I just couldn't get the tie right because it was a little cloudy to me as to which tie he would wear...lol.
So far that's thee of us who say that tie with a white shirt and black siut is our fave. Maybe if Andy would read this he'd know that, and wear it tonite or tomorrow nite...lol.
Psychics, for the most part, just don't interest me. I am, however, so interested in how a criminal profiler does their job.
Before the serial killer, Derrick Todd Lee, was caught down here (Louisiana) the profiler had just about everything right, only thing is they thought he was white. Other than that, they had him pegged.
@dannie, You are very welcome!
@grace, Blue tie! Yay! You are amazing! How much do we owe you? LOL! Good call!
@megan, predicting is fun when you are trying to envision Anderson's wardrobe, though, no?
@Anon, I don't know if I have that shot. I'll look around for you though and post it if I find it.
@anna, well, I was kind of right. He was somewhere in America looking mighty fine! I'd like that crystal ball now! LOL!
@sydney, Hee I am a genius aren't i? Seriously though, sometimes watching AC360 makes my blood pressure rise to unhealthy heights!
I scream at the set a lot!!!
@acanderfan, close girlfriend! You got very close!!!
@cactuskid, I'll go look if I have that. Can you email me? Thanks!
@pixie, hope your days are going well. We'll be here, don't worry. Take your time reading. We have a lot to say! LOL!
@annik, agreed!
@joanie, I agree. The profiler job is extremely interesting!
Thanks again for all of your comments guys! I love your input!
