Short and Sweet

Tonight's post is going to be short but sweet. I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get to see or hear more of Anderson but I'm sure broadcasting from Greenland (way into the arctic circle) has to be difficult. Hopefully, tomorrow we'll get a bit more. I'm sure that most of the Planet in Peril series is meant to be about the end product (The whole show in Oct) and not these bits and pieces.

Anyway, John King did a good job tonight with the rest....

A few months ago I got a new laptop and today, finally, I figured out how to use Microsoft Movie Maker. So, I'm sharing my first try with you guys tonight. Hope you like it! (No bad surprises this time!)

I liked 360 last nite, even though it was pretty much Anderless. Hopefully tonite we'll get to see more of Anderson. I have a feeling this PIP (Greenaland) is going to have some difficulties. I mean it's go to be bard to broadscast from the top of the world. Hey I just realiezed something....Andy is on top of the world!!! And now I've got that Carpenters song stuck in my head (which is fine becuase I like that song). It is called 'On top of the world' isn't it???

Purple Tie, I haven't watched the video yet (too tired...lol), but when I do I'll comment on it.

Very nice job on video. I caught a little of Thursday's 360 and enjoyed JK's anchoring. Also I thought Thursday's 'What Were They Thinking?' was one of the best ones yet. I hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable holiday weekend.

Last night's show was terrible! It just didn't hold my attention. And I know that it may be hard to get a signal from Greenland but CNN is a huge company and they should have had that worked out before the show even came on! I don't see how we got live Jeff from out in the middle of nowhere and we couldn't get live Anderson from a village or town or whereever! It just doesn't make sense! What's up with that!? It was a waste of time IMO. They shouldn't have even had him on...I hope tonight is better or I'd imagine Anderson will be getting some pretty negative feedbacks if he isn't already!

I just heard that John spoke with Anderson via phone. Unfortunately, I just miss part of it. I am sure all of you have seen it. Did you?? Hopefully, tonight, it's going to be excited program. I'm only going to see it for just the first hour because I am leaving from NY to Arizona tomorrow morning to see my cousin for a week. I probably will miss Anderson's program for next week. I am sure all of you will enjoy it!!!!

Excellent job PT!!! Great song choice :)

Normally I don't ever watch completed fan videos, but I sure watched this one and really enjoyed it! Thanks!

@Cindy, why would people give negative feedback to Anderson??? It isn't his fault that there is broadcasing trouble. He's probably just as dissapointed as we are. I'm sure he was looking forward to being live from Greenland.

@Cindy, if you haven't gotten a chance to see the Hudson DVD, Planet In Peril is something much larger than Anderson Cooper appearing on his show from distant places.

As some had guessed all along, Planet In Peril is going to be a major documentary premiering in CNN HD in October of this year.

So, if Anderson can only appear once or twice during his show while he is taping these segments either by phone or by broadband, it is for a greater purpose.

Anderson and 360 want to give Global Warming a larger focus and if we have to endure technical difficulties while they work extremely hard in difficult conditions to make that happen, then we should support the show in during the filming of the documentary.

Thanks for your comment because I'm sure others have felt the same way but just didn't hear about the documentary yet.

Have a great day!

Purple Tie, GREAT video. Very well done!!! I LOVE the pics used in it!!!

@ Sheryn...I haven't seen the DVD yet. And I do hope that the documentary is worth all of these mess ups that seem to go on when they go somewhere for PIP.

I wasn't mad that Anderson wasn't on it was the whole show in general. It was a bit boring. Maybe the topics that was on...I don't know! But I figured before the show even started that they may have difficulties. So I knew we would only see Andy for maybe once or twice. And that didn't matter...

I hope we get more info tonight on Greenland..if not from Anderson then maybe they can do more segments with Jeff. That is what I want to see...the places and things that are there. Regardless of who shows it. I thought that was why they were going to be live there. So we could get an idea of the place and learn about it and the effects of global warming there. Not just so they could do a documentary... If that's the case then why even tell us they are there. They could go to these places and tape then make the documentary and sell it or show it. Instead of saying they will be there and we will get to see these things and then we don't get anything. I guess the bottom line for them is money....

I hope this documentary is packed full of info and all because from what I've seen so far it hasn't really told much indepth stuff. I know more about the places and things myself than what they have told or shown. And that is pretty bad. Considering that Jeff and Anderson are college grads and all.

So we are going to have to wait to see what our little snow bunny looks like all wrapped up in his big coat?

Cindy said...

@ Acanderfan...From what I hear Anderson has been getting an enormous amount of negative feedbacks and emails. So I imagine this will be no different.

I didn't do one this time...it isn't his fault of the tech. difficulties. But maybe they need to tape something just in case something goes wrong then they would have some thing to show from there and people wouldn't be as disappointed. And he wouldn't have to go through the negative stuff.

Cindy said...

Oh I forgot to say PT great job on the video!! I like it alot!!

@ Anonymous 8:13am

I just laughed when you said" see what our little snow bunny looks like all wrapped up in his big coat? ". I can't visualize on him wearing like a snow bunny. I am wondering where Anderson is staying? Perhaps..staying at the Igloos?
I am sure that Anderson was disappointed for what's happened last night. It could be a windy weather that he may have a hard time to connect the CNN broadcast. He seriously wants to make sure that the documentary is important for everyone to see. Okay, I have to finish up packing for my vacation tomorrow.

I think I'd rather hear Anderson on the phone than not at all or seeing him with blue lips cuz he's freezing to death (that would match his eyes though..hee hee)!

I give him credit that he actually takes the time to try and be a part of his show when he is out on assignment. Afterall, he could just be out all week long right? One can't expect too much from Greenland...I'm sure they are dealing with a whole new set of issues just like they did in the Amazon. You can never trust Mother Nature now can you?

Thanks for the kudos everyone :)

My two sense about the Planet in Peril series... They are doing it a piece at a time but I think the end product is what they are looking to not the small pieces for each show. I think Anderson would do this series whether or not he was broadcasting live from these places or not, so when we do get him at these times, I consider it a bonus.

Each person is entitled to their opinion but I hope we all remember that when we don't know the reason for something maybe we should not automatically think of him/360 in a negative way. I don't think we always understand their reasoning but I try to remember they are the professionals and know waaaaay more than I do. Besides, I can't imagine it's easy broadcasting from north of the arctic cirlce! Just my two cents, no disrespect :)

Last nights 360 was good, not great but good. Best parts of the show were when JK spelt out
S-T-U-P-I-D for Erica....very funny
The other great moment was when Jeff said it was so cold his lips were frozen. Just don't lick any metal poles (not that he would) but I know from personal experience (I was a kid ok :P) it hurts like crazy.

I was very disappointed not to see Anderson last night but even more disappointed that they didn't at least show still pics of Anderson in the artic circle while he was talking on the phone. If I don't see some sort of Artic Andy tonight......I might yell at my tv.

@ Phebe - nice to see you commenting......hurry back soon, we have missed you :)

@ PT - Great movie.....can't wait to see the videos you will make now that you can :P

Oh, PT, you've discovered your "internal videographer." Well done! :D

Great to see John King at the helm while Anderson freezes what little tushy he has. I missed most of the program last night so I missed the phone call and just about everything else including what phebe (welcome back love!) says is one of the best 'What Were They Thinking?' segments yet." Thank goodness for this blog, transcripts and the podcast to keep this mental midget informed.

Let's cross our fingers and hope we see or hear from Anderson tonight ... even a wee bit of Anderson is better than none, right?

I was also disappointed not to see Anderson last night, but not seeing him made me focus all the more on his voice which I love listening too, especially on this subject. I've been interesting in global warming for a while now and I'm glad CNN is covering it.

I did some research today on Constable Pynt, Greenland where Anderson was. It's on the east side of Greenland as Anderson said. What surprised me was the fact that Constable Pynt is a RUNWAY!!!! I almost fell off my chair when I read that. It's a tiny airfield, manned by about 10 people. The runway is dirt and is not paved. They still have their baggage is x-rayed and searched because it is after all "an International Airport".

I wish Anderson would blog if possible because I have a feeling we often have a radically different idea of what they go through that what the reality is.

It also said that regular flights are availble from Iceland. So does that mean they had to fly to Iceland first?

Like many of us, I was interested in how cold it was there. At noon today, weather.com said the temperature was 30 degrees with a wind chill of 17. Not too bad!

Looking forward to watching the video you made PT.

I just got back from vacation, and saw very little of the show during the last week and a half. I have a lot of catching up to do with the blogs and podcasts, I guess!

As for my quest for the DVD - my departure airport doesn't have a Hudson bookstore, so no dice there. I had high hopes for my layover - they had plenty of paperbacks, but none with the DVD. Now I was getting concerned. Finally we reached our destination and while DH was at baggage claim I snuck off to the bookstore and VOILA! I was in and out in less than 1 minute. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet (too busy doing fun "vacation stuff" and actually having a life for once!) but I'll be sure to make time soon.

BTW, just caught the beginning of the show - Anderson did NOT look too happy, just cold and miserable.

@ Sydney - when I left Atlanta last Sunday I walked into the Hudson bookstore, the woman said hi, I grabbed the book and went to the counter........the woman behind the counter was like wow that was fast and I said I knew what I wanted........enjoy the DVD it is amazing.

I bought 4 copies of the paperbook book in Atlanta......gosh Anderson made a little bit of money off of me last weekend but it was soooooo worth it :)

Was it just my imagination or was AC's nose blue? I wonder just how many layers Jeff and he are wearing - would have to be a lot in those temperatures!
