How many times can you scream the word, "PINHEAD"?

About a thousand, that's how many! I'm still screaming at the TV and the internet today! Have you ever seen a bigger bunch of narrow-minded, chauvinistic, untrustworthy pinheads in your life? (I'm paraphrasing a wee bit below to make a point.)

Ohhh, don't worry about my last 20 years of service where I've supported abortion rights and Roe v. Wade. Nooooooo, I was soooo wrong and now I've seen the light! -- Mitt Romney

Travel on government funds to see my girlfriend while I was still married to my wife? You've gotta be kidding me! I was the best damn mayor this world has ever seen! -- Rudy Guiliani

I've got me my Smith & Wesson's stashed somewhere and I'm not telling no how, no way! And by the way, I'm gonna waltz into this group knowing that the actor always wins! Haven't you ever heard of Reagan and Schwarzenegger? -- Fred Thompson

I'll just sit here with my weird eyes and look incredulous every time I'm asked a question. -- Tom Tancredo

Hell, I was right all along! I knew this Iraq War strategy wasn't gonna work! I told ya so! Nah Nah Na Boo Boo! -- John McCain

No worries, I can be your gyno and your President too! Kill two birds with one stone! -- Ron Paul

Okay, did I miss anyone? Yes I did. Mike Huckabee. I feel like Mike Huckabee is an honest and decent man. I don't agree with his views on any of the issues however he was the one candidate on that stage last night that could be called both honest and decent! I respect Mike Huckabee greatly. I just don't want him as my president.

Since when is every controversy that happens on CNN Anderson Cooper's fault?
Are we the only ones who know that Anderson Cooper has producers that should be vetting information about these questioners? Have all the Right-Wing bloggers lost their minds today? My goodness, even Washington DC's most famous male escort turned journalist Jeff Gannon was spouting his "CNN = Clinton News Network" crap today! Really Jeff, you don't have an axe to grind with Anderson Cooper or CNN now do you??? (for those of you who don't know who Jeff Gannon is, google away people. It's rather interesting!)

I mean, I don't want to sound like some 'fangurl defending her man' but Jeezbus why is this latest controversy Anderson's fault? Ms. Phebe told me that John Roberts spoke with Brigadier General Kerr on American Morning in order to clear up some of the controversy. You won't find much support for CNN today in getting the truth out so I thought I'd share this interview with you so you can tell the spin from the truth.

ROBERTS: Later, CNN found out that General Kerr is a member of Hillary Clinton's Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual and Transgender Steering Committee. CNN senior vice president and executive producer of the debate, David Bohrman, says, "We regret this incident. CNN would not have used the General's question had we known that he was connected to any presidential candidate. Prior to the debate, CNN had verified the General's military background and that he had not contributed any money to any presidential campaign. Following the debate, Kerr told us he has not done any work for the Clinton campaign. He says he is a member of the log cabin Republicans and was representing no one other than himself." ...

BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) BRIG. GEN. KEITH KERR, U.S. ARMY RET., SANTA ROSA, CA: My name's Keith Kerr from Santa Rosa, California. I'm a retired brigadier general with 43 years of service, and I'm a graduate of the Special Forces Officer course, the Command and General Staff course and the Army War college, and I'm an openly gay man. I want to know why you think that American men and women in uniform are not professional enough to serve with gays and lesbians.(END VIDEO CLIP)

ROBERTS: So there's the question and Retired Army Brigadier General Keith Kerr joins me now this morning. We discovered after the debate last night that you are in fact a member of Hillary Clinton's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender steering committee. We did not -- we did a background check and we found that you have not made any campaign contributions to any candidate. Does that still stand?

KERR: That's correct.

ROBERTS: OK. Well, let me ask you about your position on the steering committee. What does that entail, and have you in fact done any work for Hillary Clinton's campaign?

KERR: I have not done any work. Several friends asked me if I would allow my name to be listed and I agreed because she is such a strong advocate of gay and lesbian rights.

ROBERTS: So this really hasn't required anything on your part other than lending your name to it?

KERR: Correct.

ROBERTS: Now, did anyone from Hillary Clinton's campaign or from the steering economy or anyone else associated with a political organization put you up to the idea of asking this question?

KERR: Absolutely not. This was a private initiative on my own.

ROBERTS: So why did you want to ask this question?

KERR: I wanted to ask it because I wanted to focus attention on the damage that "don't ask, don't tell" currently does to our military readiness. Every day, the Department of Defense kicks out two or three talented gay or lesbian personnel. And we're talking about intelligence specialists, surgeons, nurses, doctors, 58 Arabic linguists since 9/11.

ROBERTS: And what was your experience like as an openly gay man to have to live in the closet of the U.S. military?

KERR: Well, I enjoyed the army so much that I wanted to stay and finish my career. However, I did so in the reserves, and it made a wonderful career for me and made me a much better person.

ROBERTS: But was it difficult for you?

KERR: Because of the gender?

ROBERTS: You're living two lives, basically?

KERR: John, because of the generation in which I grew up, one could not reveal their sexuality. It meant immediate loss...

ROBERTS: Oh, even in this generation again.

KERR: ... of your civilian or military job. And I wanted to be successful in life and it was necessary to not reveal my sexuality.

ROBERTS: Right. On the idea of not revealing things, we didn't know again that you were a member of the steering committee. There was also a news release dated November 11, 2007, that lists you as a national co-chair on veterans and military retirees for Hillary Clinton. Are you in fact a member of that organization?

KERR: Yes. It's the same one. Simply my list, my name on the list.

ROBERTS: So it's the same organization?

KERR: And both friends, yes. I think it's two separate lists to support Hillary Clinton.

ROBERTS: Now, perhaps our bad for not further investigating your background other than going on to make sure that you hadn't made any campaign contributions, but did you ever think to disclose your affiliation to us? And if not --

KERR: It never concerned me because I had not really participated in that.

ROBERTS: All right.

KERR: As a matter of fact, I supported several Republicans this fall.

ROBERTS: Tell me about that.KERR: One of them is Aliana Rossladen (ph).

ROBERTS: Rossladen (ph), correct.

KERR: And she's from the Miami area. She was in San Francisco recently at a fundraiser and I went and made a contribution to her campaign.

ROBERTS: And you're a registered Independent.

KERR: A registered Independent in California.

ROBERTS: Oh, General Kerr, thank you very much for joining us this morning, explaining a little bit more about your situation. I can't say that we would have used the question had we known. Now, a lesson for us as well. But thank you for coming in this morning, sir.

KERR: Oh, thank you.

ROBERTS: And thank you for your service to the country.

KERR: Thank you for being so transparent. I appreciate that.

ROBERTS: All right. Good to speak with you

Alright, I'm outta here for this week. My head hurts and my blood pressure is dangerously high! I swear to you, if one of these repugs actually makes it into office, I'm moving to Europe. Of course, that's if yelling at these PINHEADS doesn't kill me first! Have a great weekend everyone! And God Save The Queen! -Sheryn

I don't envy any debate moderator from any network. Regardless of how well they do (and I thought Anderson did a fine job as do most moderators), they are always raked over the coals. I wish people would take a long hard look at the policies and ideas that the various candidates are spouting and leave the hosts alone. Because ultimately, one of the candidates will be leading this country, not Anderson Cooper. JMO.

It's ridiculous that noone can look past all the controversy and realize that it is actually a LEGITMATE QUESTION, something I felt was in short supply last night.

I agree, it does seem like every controversy at CNN is Andy's fault. To me it seems like if he is involved with something and something goes wrong it is automatically his fault. It's ridiculous, really it is. Why does he get blamned??? He didn't do this debate by himself. There were plenty of others working behind the sceens. The blame should not be falling on him.

Guiliani traveling on goverment funds to see his girlfriend was ridiculous. What a waste of money.

I also wasn't particulary impressed with some of the questions that were chosen. Like the one about the flag. I'm sorry but there are more pressing issues than that facing this country.

Sheryn, You are hilarious and so right. The person that I would like to get a hold of is Eric Deggans, a columnist for a Tampa newspaper. His comment about Anderson is ludicrous since this debate is not about Anderson and the responses were from the Republicans candidates. Anderson did not lose control, the candidates did. They were aware of the ground rules when the debate started. IMO, allowing the fighting to go on for awhile was great. It pointed out to the country what jerks these men are. They don't seem like presidential material to me.
Best of luck Sheryn in your recovery from the debate. You'll be fine. Stare at the background picture on your site and bliss will fill your heart.

Sheryn, I'm glad I signed on one more time before bedtime. I like going to bed with a smile on my face! LOL

I haven't actually watched the debate itself yet, but I did see the aftershow and I read everyone's comment and frankly my dear, I don't think I'll bother!

Thanks for the interview that JR had with that man from the US army. (sorry, I can't recall his name just this intance) It clarifies a lot and hopefully it can clear the air for Anderson.

Oh and I hope you won't need to move, but if you do, come to Antwerp!

lol. i found that there's a video on youtube thats of what anderson said about the big. gen. kerr knowing the clintons or whatnot. the caption says that it's his fault.

like you said, it amazing how the moderator gets blamed for all this stuff. i dont understand why everyone's blaming it on him, it's the network not any individual persons fault.

or at least that's what i think.

I'm sorry-was there a debate or something on last night??? I was too distracted by Anderson's gorgeous face. And those lipid pools we call eyes. And those strong lips...but I digress...

Seriously, though...so now I'm even more afraid of some of these candidates. I suggest a mud pit brawl between Romney and McCain and ALL MY MONEY IS ON MCCAIN.

Quite contentious, folks. That's how I would describe last night's festivities.

I was watching "Morning Joe" on MSNBC this morning and Joe commented several times that he did not think the screw up last night was Anderson's fault. He said Anderson is too busy to woory over every detail and CNN should have people who take care of that so Anderson doesn't have to worry about it. So maybe he's getting some support out there. Sometimes I wonder what is going on over at CNN.

Calm down and join me in the naughty chair with an anderblue martini. See...isn't that better!
I swear these Republican's are going to turn me into an alcoholic. :)

Sheryn said...

Okay, move over lady and pass me one of those martinis! I must confess I had to just mute the repugs in favor of just appreciating a nicely tailored suit on the most sensible man on the stage!

@Anon 4:38pm, I agree. It's called spin. Honestly none of the candidates were really worth talking about so the conservatives have to pick on the liberal network (their words not mine.)

@Sydney, I couldn't agree more! Thank you for the reminder.

@ACanderfan, I didn't enjoy some of the questions either truthfully. There are so many hot button issues to be covered.

@Judy, thank you for your support. With some TLC and some naughty chair, I think I'll be on the road to recovery quite soon. 10pm is just around the corner!

@Kristien, Thank you for the invitation. I'll let you know in about a year's time! LOL! I've never been to Belgium. I hear it's very nice though! Where there is good chocolate, I can never say no!

@Debbie, eek! A mud pit brawl with any of those old geezers just gives me the willies!

@Anon, WOW, Joe Scarborough at least has the presence of mind to get that this was a producer's fault. You should see what that idiot Gibson from Faux News said! UGH!!!

Okay Phebs, more martinis. My ears are bleeding again!!!

from the sounds of the latest blog on the 360 site, Anderson will be on the campaign trail with Mike Huckabee.

God save the Queen indeed.....great post Ms. Sheryn.

I have no issue with the don't ask, don't tell question being asked but I can not believe that in 5000 submitted videos, this was the only person who asked this question. If Anderson had of know they may have use another person's video asking the same question as to not cause any controversary.

Thanks for posting JR's interview from AM Sheryn.

Any whoo.....Anderson looked really great last night :)

LOL, you're welcome in Europe. Houses are a wee bit smaller, but the rest is great. However idiots are a fact of life. They just remind us that we are sane.

Best of luck with your recovery from the debate.

lellebelle said...

Don't worry about these morons. Rudy Guiliani, as far as I'm concerned, was done from the moment he entered the race, as he has too many skeletons in his closet anyway. And as for the rest, I pretty much don't see hope for them if that's the best the Republican party should choose to represent them. We saw that tonight and today you are seeing them trying to defend themselves and point the finger in any direction to compensate for that. This is why I don't really get upset or shocked anymore when it comes to politics, mud slinging and playing dirty is all apart of the game, and people try to take down innocent victims.

Lulu said...

I didn't watch the entire debate, since I'm not a Republican, but I thought Anderson did a good job. This controversy isn't his fault, but it doesn't make CNN look good though. The fact-checkers really dropped the ball there. And critics will pounce on anything they can find. But Anderson stepped up and told viewers about the General's Clinton connection at the end of his broadcast. Class act!

MeshugahMazal said...

LMAO! Sheryn you kill me sometimes with your comments! :) Yeah, I know sometimes I wonder how this country can continue to exist with the "pinheads" at the helm....

To anyone who criticizes a debate moderator, I would ask them to try it and see how they do.

Tiffany S-T said...

awwww poor Sheryn! I hope your blood pressure is back in check after some time in the naughty chair and a few (dozen) martinis! I would say come up here to Canada and join Sapphire and me....but our leader isn't much better. Oh how I miss the days of Prime Minister Jean Chretien head-locking the protesters with no real issues, and hitting wannabee journalists...now there's a leader! lol (OK we haven't had a good leader in Canada since I was born, that's as good as it gets!)

All I can say is I hope you American's have decent people to vote for next year!

Anonymous said...

I think some of the criticism is coming from the fact that this info about the general was released some six months ago and CNN missed it.

I thought Anderson did a great job. I'm so not a Republican, but I watched for the You Tube questions. However, i screamed at my tv for the whole time. How can you continue this war? Global warming, anyone? Where is their soul?????
