Finally a Primary that CNN couldn't call until late into the night! If you're a Hillary supporter it was a great night. She was outspent 4 to 1 in Texas and still managed to keep it close. And as far as Ohio goes let's hope the old phrase 'as Ohio goes so goes the nation' again holds true.
If you are an Obama supporter you have no reason to be discouraged, he's still got a lot of fight left in him. All in all it was a real barn burner and now it's on to the next biggie...Pennsylvania.
Republicans must be pleased to know who will be representing your party in November. As I watched John McCain's speech on Tuesday night I couldn't help remember how the media had him dead and buried last summer. And Jeffery Toobin reminded us, on Tuesday, HRC has also been dead and buried three times, according to the media, in these Primaries. Goes to show that we can't always believe what the networks are telling us...we need to think and vote based on our gut...not their opinions.
So here's the night in screen caps.CNN pulled out all the stops with 3 rows of pundits on Tuesday. The front row consisted of Leslie Sanchez, Carl Bernstein and Roland Martin.
The back panel had Bill Bennett, Alex Castellanos, Paul Begala (with the best tie of the night) and Jamal Simmons. And the center panel had Jeffery Toobin being quite the joker with Donna Brazile. They were joined by Gloria Borger and John King (when he could tear himself away from the magic maps).
And then, at 6 minutes into the second hour of AC360 poof...ole pumpkin head took over for Anderson Cooper. Also Bill Bennett was replaced by the much more attractive and palatable Amy Holmes.Since we didn't get our usual dose of 'The Shot' I'll share one of my finds with you. It is one of the cutest dog and kid video (with loads of giggles) I've ever seen. Enjoy!

It was a good night for the pundits even though it went late. What a tight race in Texas!
I thought all three of them gave excellent speeches tonight, too. (Didn't hear Huckabee's, sorry.)
And HRC was very good on TDS last night. Jon Stewart had a great insight, too -- he said that he could imagine any of them having a place in any of the others' cabinet.
Anderson is still on, late night for him!
I didn't watch much last nite. I just wasn't in the mood for it. To me tuesday nite is like that movie Gorundhog Day, same thing every tuesday.
I guess one has to give McCain credit for hanging in there. The media seemed to think he was finshed numerous times, but he wasn't.
Love that Ander smile on the last photo of him you posted!
That video is so cute.
I have to admit,I did not see much of the ''best political.....''you know, coverage last night.
I just cannot get into all that much of it at times, maybe it is because I am not from there and therefore not voting, but wow it is changing by the minute.
(That ''best political....'' phrase really needs to be retired soon).
''Ole pumpkin head''.LOL
I really am not a member of the Lou Dobbs fan club myself actually!
What an amazing race! I watched as much as I could last night before falling asleep. You know people can predict all they want, but you never really know how these races are going to turn out. Guess Hillary can be called the comeback kid now. Everyone just needs to listen to their own voices and go out and vote. Just vote! That's the main thing! Let your voice be heard!
I was watching and all of a sudden I saw Anderson rush behind Wolf and then he was gone until 1AM. At one point I roll over from sleep to see Anderson at 3:30. Was that live or were they repeating? Anyone know?
I had a long discussion with a friend last night about the fact that Bill was no where to be seen last night. I personally thought it looked tacky and she thought it was strategic. You look at all the other candidates and their spouse are the right beside them. We agreed to disagree and are still friends :P
I see last night as a win-win for both. HRC NEEDED to win but Obama took what was once a 20 point lead and came back to close the gap especially in Texas. We will have to see how the Texas caucuses balance out.
Speaking of which if you are a democrat who voted in Texas last night....I feel for you. Your system is ridiculous.
Mike Huckabee speech was great and I liked him. He said he would stay in until someone had 1,191 and that is exactly what he did. As soon as McCain got it he bowed out graciously.
I have to go back to work now….I don’t want too we are having a snowstorm. I so don’t like winter :(
Anderson is DARLING when he giggles :)
Thanks for sharin'
Oh the recap was awesome too!!!
Take care you,
From me
Watched most of the coverage last night but turned to Jon Stewart at 11. I thought it was interesting that in previous weeks CNN would predict a winner with 1% of the vote in, but last night that wasn't the case, thank goodness, when they predict the winner with only a small percentage of votes in it makes the evening go that much slower and uninteresting.
Does this election year seem longer than normal or is it just me.
Kind of off topic, but on on American Monring Ali Velsi was talking abot how he is going to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Vergin Islands for CNN election coverage and he said on the way to the airport he was going to pick up a speedo. Perhaps Anderson should go instead. I think I need the naughty chair now...
@ Sapphire "I roll over from sleep to see Anderson at 3:30." So that's where he went! You're one lucky lady.
Oh Ms. Phebe you caught me :P
Oh my goodness there is a great example of how to choose your words carefully!
I can't stop laughing at the thought of what I said
I watched the coverage until I fell asleep and woke up once to see Anderson still on - don't know if it was live or a repeat -
I watched the speeches last night and though I respect John McCain as a man who has given a lot to this country (I do not support him however as I do not agree with any of his political stances) - I felt he came across as old and tired and he is just George Bush all over again wanting to continue to pour gasoline on the fire Bush started in Iraq
I also watched Hillary and while I am an Obama supporter, I would vote for her if she does win the democratic nomination - however I take great exception with her for declaring victories in Michigan and Florida - in Michigan she was the only candidate who left her name on the ballot when all the other candidates had the class to remove their names - I don't exactly call that a win - Here in Florida while the candidates names were on the ballot - none of the candidates were allowed to campaign either in person, on tv or in any campaign literature - that too is not a victory
I heard her this morning on the Today show where she once again stated she feels entitled to the delegates from both Michigan and Florida - she has conveniently forgotton that she agreed with the DNC when they agredd to move up the primaries knowing full well that it meant the loss of delegates - Obama is in a tough position - he must continue to wage his campaign taking the high road and not stooping to the Clinton machine who will do anything to win no matter how many they mow over in the process
Maybe I'm just cranky today from lack of sleep
I wanted to try and replay the video again, but all I now get is ''buffering'' in the corner, that is all-no picture or sound or anything.
Is anyone else getting this as well?
@Sapphire, lol, watch your words girl!
My VCR decided not to record anything last night, so I can't say anything about the coverage.
I don't have a favorite Democratic candidate, but I am glad that Hillary did well. Girlpower!
Phebe, that video is very cute!
