60 Minutes with Drew Barrymore

Ms. Em has had a terrible week taking care of her sick hubby and fighting with Dell, Linksys and her satellite provider. She's going to have a new system installed in the coming week and hopefully that will solve her problems and she'll be back to blogging next Sunday night. In the meantime you are stuck with me again tonight.
Here are a few screengrabs from tonight's 60 Minute segment with Anderson Cooper and Drew Barrymore. This was a lighter moment in the interview when AC reacted to Drew's story about flashing David Letterman.Anderson and Drew entering the Barrymore Theater in NYC. Not sure the jeans and sneakers exactly worked with Barrymore's attire. Maybe a fashion faux pas?I think this is just the most fabulous fashion statement. I especially loved the black tips on her hair. And these last two were taken in Drew's office in California with her production crew.
A few weeks ago we came across some high resolution pictures of Anderson and Drew walking on Broadway that were posted on Just Jared's site. I'm not a puzzle pro like Ms. Em but here's my attempt to continue the Sunday night puzzle tradition using one of those photos.

Phebe: It was my impression that AC might have felt some kind of kinship with Drew because of her famous last name, and she overcame her family problems....much the way he did. Having said that, I thought the piece, if you didn't read into it, was "fluff." He's better than this interview which could have been done by anybody.
I too, liked Drew's blonde hair and black tips. Very campish.
Hope Mr. EM gets well real soon.

I really enjoyed Anderson's 60 Minutes piece tonite. I thought it was good. I know alot of people don't like his celebrity interviews, but he is good at interviewing and I think its one of his strong points. Out of all the celeb interviews he's done this was by far his best one. I like Drew Barrymore. She's certainly had an interesting life and has worked hard to get where she is. I like her movies. They're good fun movies. Very good 60 Minutes piece and I got the feeling Anderson had fun doing it. It seems like he and Drew got along well.

Anderson wearing jeans and sneakers was cute. Drew's hair with the black ends, not cute.

Mr. Em is still sick and is a bit out of sorts so not much fun around here. So far, I seem to be holding out against it. My connectivity is still sporadic. Good news is the new satellite company may be able to come out tomorrow instead of the end of the week. Cross your fingers for me. Hope this works, if not, my blogging will become very limited as my only resource will be the old dial-up connection. Some days I would gladly trade the peace and quiet for more available technology and a few good restaurants!

Loved 60 Minutes. I have always been one of those enchanted by Drew and her fabulous provile. I thought her last statement about going out and finding a place that was better or even different to thrive was kind of a reflection of what Anderson did to overcome the tradegies in his own life. I love how Drew doesn't really seem to "get" how unique she is. Yes, Anderson could do more hard hitting reports but I think there was some common ground in this interview the producers probably recognized. The interview was short, sweet, and yet remarkably powerful. Great job Anderson!!

Better log off now...probably get kicked off any minute anyway as the wind is blowing in those darn trees!

@Maureen, I just tried it and it is there and it has been played and solved by more than a few, so I know it's working. It is very slow to load, even with my high speed connection. Maybe that's your problem? I know there is a way to make it show on the blog without directing traffic away from the blog but I couldn't figure it out. Sorry.

@Judy, I agree with you that he does have some family background similarities. This time AC didn't interject himself into the interview, even though he could have by mentioning the parallels.

@ACAnderFan, I loved the black hair tips, but not many could carry off that look with haute couture.

@Phebe, normally I like when people do quirky things like Drew did with her hair, but I'm not liking the black. If she had done a color like hot pink or bright purple I think I would have liked it.

Once I got past the urge to straighen Anderson's collar -- I thought the interview was good. (Can't get over the fact Drew didn't try to fix it.) I agree with what many of you have said here. While it may not be a hard hitting news story, I think Anderson was the perfect 60 Minutes correspondent for the interview. Anderson and Drew have similar life stories - being born with a famous last name and overcoming "tragic" childhoods to find a way to not only survive, but thrive. I, like Phebe, appreciate he didn't interject himself into the story.

@Mz. Em -- sorry to learn about you connectivity problems. Hope Mr. gets feeling better and you don't get sick with your big trip ahead.

Enjoyed the screen grabs, Phebe. Thanks for the post.
