I really couldn't get into the election coverage on AC360 tonight. Judging from Twitter and my inbox I don't think I was alone. Jon Stewart's take on the election? ......"Indecision 2009 - Vote or keep going about your day."
To make amends for my laziness here's a little something from the ATA Vault that hasn't seen the light of day since 2003. Does AC really say 'snogging off in the forest'? Surely I heard that wrong? Enjoy. ~Phebe

I didn't watch 360 last nite. As glad as I am that Anderson is back I just can't watch 2 hours of politics.
Good clip from the andervault. I can't even remember the last time I saw that. Probably whenever it first aired.
I didn't watch any of the election coverage on any channel...because my cable went out around 6:15 pm. Don't know what the problem is, a cable guy will be coming out tomorrow afternoon to take a look. So instead I organized some of my clutter.
Thanks a bunch for the video from the Andervault. What 4xactly was Anderson doing for CNN at that time? Wasn't he kind of floating around in various reporting and anchor-subbing jobs until he got the morning job with Paula Zahn? Or was the morning job the first thing he did at CNN? It was odd watching Anderson in the video and comparing his face to the one in the wallpaper. it seemed like the only difference was that wrinkle between his eyebrows.
Phebe -- Thanks for the clip from the Andervault. Much more entertaining than the two hours of 360 we got tonight. I'm tired of all the speculating on what the election results in 2 governor's races means for the 2010 cogressional election. Note to CNN - governors are NOT members of congress. The 2010 elections are a year a way and a lot can happen in a year.
I was glad that, I think it was Gloria Borger, spoke up when giving poll results on the country's approval rating for the direction the country was taking said that although the percentage seemed low, it was higher than it has been in the last few years. Numbers need to be put into perspective to give the true picture. Too often this is not done.
And, yes, Phebe Anderson did say "snogging off into the forest" - you weren't hearing things! I miss the Anderson Cooper reporting in this clip. Hopefully CNN can redesign 360 to showcase his talents.
Hopefully we'll get some real news tomorrow night and TBPTOT can go into retirement for a year. I volumteer to pack them up and put them in storage!!
Being a NJ resident, I was disappointed that Corzine lost, but I believe he lost because of the high property taxes and the fact that he did away with the ever popular property tax rebates this past year. That hurt big time. No matter what the pundits spin was, it had little to do with Obama.
Because the election cycle involved me, I found 360 rather interesting tonite. At least it was about a subject that mattered to some of us.
I also watched part of the second hour concerning Mayor Bloomberg and kept laughing to myself when they said "he won re-election." No, he BOUGHT his re-election, but of course no one would say that aloud.
AC seemed more involved. Maybe because he lives in NYC and it also concerned him as well.
@ACAnderFan
So do I... I didn't watch 360 last nite. The show is too late for me and how it was just politics, my sleep was more valuable!
See you tonite.... I hope so (if my sleep permit!)
Bye
I watched last night's 360 just to see Anderson, but election coverage was two hours of unrelieved boredom. @Lori, agree with you and all those who want 360revamped to bring out AC's uniqueness. He's so interesting when in his element, and we see how compassionate he is. Good examples are his field work, reporting at Inauguration, famous people memorials, Planet in Peril, and handling animals, like the time they had a snake on the set. I'm sending emails to the show, but don't always get an auto-response. CNN's promise is to read every email--hope they are doing it.
@judy - I did hear someone giving a breakdown of the cost for Bloomberg to win that election. He spent somewhere near $98 million campaigning and they figured it cost him about $173 per vote!
The election was a very big deal up in my neck of the woods.
Sad to say, that video is merely a reminder that attitudes toward gays hasn't changed.
