Tonight was a special two hour 360 due to the shooting at Ft Hood Army Base.
Ed Lavandera was at Ft Hood reporting on the latest information on the shooting and the investigation.
Randi Kaye was next with more information on the suspect, Major Nidal Malik Hasan.
Barbara Starr, Frances Townsend, and Brian Todd joined Anderson to talk about the area the shooting occurred in, Hasan's service record, and previous information that was found that the FBI had been looking into.
Tom Foreman went through a detailed timeline of the attack.
Randi Kaye was in with the bulletin: a city council member in Cleveland is looking for an investigation into why authorities didn't see foul play at the home of a suspected serial killer, the AARP and the AMA endorsed healthcare legislation drafted by Democrats while tea party protesters and GOP leaders and warned it would lead to a government takeover of healthcare, former NYC Police Commissioner Kerik plead guilty to lying to members of the Bush Administration and to tax crimes, the Yankees are preparing for their parade tomorrow after winning the World Series and after the game yesterday their manager Joe Girardi stopped to help a car crash victim on his way home.
Dr Heidi Kraft and Professor Eugene Fidell joined Anderson to talk about the medical personnel being deployed and the investigation.
Ed Lavandara was with Anderson again to talk more about Hasan's home and the investigation going on there.
Former FBI Assistant Director Thomas Fuentes spoke with Anderson over the phone about the investigation. They also discussed why an investigation hadn't been started earlier given the information that had been found. Frances Townsend also joined the discussion to talk about the investigation.
Randi Kaye was back with the second bulletin: a Texas jury convicted a polygamist leader of sexual assault, there was outrage that some Wall Street banks have been given the H1N1 flu vaccine while many are having trouble finding it, Rihanna spoke with Diane Sawyer about her relationship with Chris Brown, Sarah Palin's book tour will include small cities, and a prison attack was caught on tape in Florida.
Ed Lavandera was back with more information on the room where the shooting occurred and updates on the investigation.
Randi Kaye was also back with more information on the internet postings that originally brought Hasan to the attention of the FBI and possible motive.
Spc Eric Blohm spoke with Anderson over the phone about what he witnessed. His wife had also taken a video of her perspective of the event unfolding.
Brian Todd and Frances Townsend joined Anderson to talk about Hasan's motives and the latest in the investigation.
Randi Kaye was back with another bulletin recapping some of the stories mentioned in the first hour.
Lt General Russel Honore spoke with Anderson on the phone about his thoughts on the shooting and what he thinks about reports Hasan was trying to get out of the military.
Tom Foreman was back to discuss the timeline and details of the shooting.
CNN Producer Tracy Sabo spoke with Anderson about video that was received of Hasan earlier in the day and information that was received from a store owner about Hasan who was a regular customer. Octavia Nasr also joined them with more information on what the store owner recounted.
One extra for tonight:
Anderson is scheduled to be on Oprah tomorrow. We'll be covering that in Friday's post.

My heart goes out to all those affected by the shooting incident that happened at Fort Hood yesterday. Its just awful. Now since the shooter is still alive someone ought to ask him what exactly he thought he accomplished by killing 12 people and injuring 31 people. I'd like to know what he thought he accomplished by that.
I thought Anderson did a good job handling the breaking news last nite. There have been times where I wasn't very keen on his handling of breaking news, but over time he's gotten much better and did a very good job last nite. I was very impressed with 360's coverage last nite.
Not really an Oprah fan, but I'll watch. I'm curious to see what AC has to say.
Aww...the video of Anderson arriving at R&K is cute. I like the bright red hoodie.
I knew the shootings at Fort Hood was going to be the big story but I didn't expect it would be the only story. It was no longer "Breaking News" and stories such as AARP endorsing Obama's health care reform and the deal with bankers getting the H1N1 vaccine ahead of others each deserved an in-depth report.
Out of all the Fort Hood reports, Tom Foreman's account of exactly what happened was the best. I had not seen that kind of coverage of the shootings anywhere else.
Viewers who wanted a lot of information and minute details of the Ford Hood shootings and shoorter were probably well satisfied with Thursday's 360. Persoanally, I would have liked to hear some of the other news of the day too. I did not watch the second hour.
I heard about the shooting here in Canada, unfortunately I couldn't watch AC360 so all I got was bits and pieces of it. I feel for the family of those who have lost their love ones on the base.
the big story here was the H1N1 flu.
Love the video of him arriving at the Regis and Kelly show.
Where was Anderson at last night? The lighting was different.
Anderson does not seem to happy with the intrusion upon his arrival at Regis & Kelly, can't say I blame him though.
