Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin Co-Host CNN's New Year's Eve Coverage

Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin return to New York City's Times Square to co-host CNN's coverage of the New Year's Eve celebration on Friday, Dec. 31, from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.(ET). The duo will reunite for the 4th year of "New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin".

"The Most Trusted Name in News just got a whole lot more trusting" said Griffin, "I'm thrilled that they're letting me co-host New Year’s Eve with Anderson Cooper again!"

"Once again, I'm terrified to be co-hosting CNN's New Year’s Eve show with Kathy Griffin" said Cooper, "It’s often bitterly cold, and yet after being with her for a few minutes on live television, I find myself drenched in sweat."

CNN correspondents will provide reports from celebrations across the country and around the world. CNN International anchor and correspondent Isha Sesay will join Cooper and Griffin from the crowd in Times Square. Correspondent Gary Tuchman will report live from Central Park for the annual Midnight Run. Correspondents John Zarrella will be live in Key West, Florida and CNN anchor and correspondent Brooke Baldwin will broadcast live from The Hard Rock Café in Nashville, Tennessee.

Leading up to "New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin" will be "Anderson Cooper 360’s All the Best, All the Worst 2010", which will air at 8pm and 10pm ET. Hosted by Tom Foreman, the special takes a look back at the year that was. From politics to pop culture and big news stories to the internet and sports, we’ll cover the best and the worst moments of 2010 with our panel of guests: our own Anderson Cooper, Newsweek’s Julia Reed, The Onion’s Baratunde Thurston, comedian Pete Dominick, the NFL Network’s Rich Eisen, CBS’s The Talk host Julie Chen, super Twitter tweeter Jack Gray, truTV’s Sunny Hostin, and CNN’s Kathleen Parker and Eliot Spitzer. Other than the boring political segment towards the end of the show I liked 360. These birthers are ridiculous. They need to just give it up and go away. They also need to understand that different states have different ways of doing birth certificates.

Amazing no one was hurt at that school board meeting.

I am very disappointed that CNN/Anderson is having Kathy Griffin back for NYE. She is nothing but white trash. Surely there is someone else out there who could co-host with Anderson. Someone who is actually funny and dosen't put everyone down. Or better yet why Can't Anderson do NYE by himself? He used to and it was a good show. I will flip to CNN during commercial breaks, since I will mainly be watching Andy Cohen's NYE program.

I am one who is surprised that crazy people haven't shown up at Board of Ed meetings with shot guns sooner...not that I condone their actions. But if anyone has ever attended some of these meetings, you talk about boredom and egos,..
And speaking of egos,Conan now really. Do you really have the right to criticize? Never was a fan.
Have to say I agree with Wonz on this one, but Anderson is the one who said it. So yes, I disagree with Anderson. Boehner cries at the drop of a hat and that's no way to act if you're Head of State or Congress. Sorry. It's got nothing to do with sensitivity and Joy Behar was right. "Man up" as Isha would have said.
Not surprised about Kathy Griffin, although I would have preferred NeNe, and AC would enjoy her a lot more.

Jeff Toobin was right, birthers are insane and they should be ignored.

The schoolboard shooting was really hard to watch--it's a reminder how vulnerable we all are--you never can predict when someone might lose it.

AC describing himself as "uptight" on the RidicuList made me laugh.

It looks like the NYE show doesn't have any musical guests lined up--IIRC, they used to announce that, but we'll see what happens. I'm really happy to see that Isha Sesay will be on the NYE show too.

@ACAnferFan: I agree with you about Kathy Griffin. I assume that Anderson if friends with Kathy as is Anderson's mother (who threw Kathy a 50th birthday dinner), I don't know how much that helps when Anderson gives his input.

It is all about ratings, not class.

Kathy Griffin picking on a healthy young woman (Bristol Palin) when Kathy used to have an eating disorder herself that she almost died of and considering the plastic surgery she has had, who is Kathy to pick on Bristol and others? She look in her own mirror.

That pounding you heard at the start of the birther seg.was me hitting my head on the wall. LOL
These people are in serious need of hobbies or a life, whichever. As for that one on last night, he is a coward.IMHO

Did watch the rest except for poltics.yawn

Now that CNN made it official, my hope that they would leave K Griffin out is gone... Sorry, I don't get what's so funny about her, she is just loud and trashy and I don't get the friendship between her and AC (or his mom). She is so out of his league! The whole "let's embarrass AC and get him fired" is getting old and clearly AC is enjoying it, otherwise he wouldn't be taking it for the fourth time. As much as I like him, I think I'll pass this year. Sarah

Well, I guess I'm not a citizen, either, because if I were to go to my town hall and request a birth certificate, a "Certificate of Live Birth" is what I would get. A lot of states do this, it's nothing new or suspicious. These people are just bat $h!t crazy.

Let's hope that CNN abides by the 3 strike rule when it comes to KG, but I doubt it. I can just see it now the entire show being about the loudmouth, who thinks she's funny and tries to take over the show.

Won't be tuning in this New Year's Eve. Last year was too difficult to watch.
