Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler

Five years ago, February 26, 2006, Anderson Cooper rode a float in the New Orlean's Mardi Gras/Edminyon parade with Dan Ackroyd, The Heroes of Katrina and Mayor Ray Nagan.

Since AC rode the Edminyon float again tonight, this time with Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Pat Benatar and Train (scratched at the last minute because of scheduling conflict when the parade moved to Sunday) we thought it a good time to take a look back at some vintage footage from the ATA archives.

This first clip from 2006 has Cooper talking with former CNN anchor Carol Lin about Mardi Gras.

This next vintage video is really choppy and the only reason we are posting is it shows footage of Anderson riding on the float. Lin is again anchoring, this time talking with Susan Roesgen.
In case you can't spot AC we've added an arrow to the screengrab to make it easier.

For those having trouble because the video screen is small we've enlarged it but it does play havoc with the clarity.

The last video has Anderson talking about what his team will be covering on AC360 in the days after Mardi Gras 2006.

Here are a few pictures from this years Endymion float with Anderson, Kelly and Mark. We'll post more tomorrow as they become available.

Thanks for posting the vintage Anderson Mardi Gras clips. I love seeing him happy and having a good time. I hope this year he has an even better time than he did in 2006.

Let the good times roll for us all this week!

I hope AC and Kelly had a blast tonight.
