Catching Up.... Monday

We hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. Shopping, wrapping, baking and cooking; not to mention the time we spent caroling, left little time for blogging last week. This week, we'll take a look back at what we missed on 'Anderson' and the "extras" we found.

Today - The 'Anderson' holiday show which aired, Friday, December 23rd ~

In this clip, Anderson talks a bit about what Christmas was like for him as a child and why for many years, he hasn't celebrated Christmas ~

Several "gifts" were given, including ~
* a man in the audience made a generous donation to the research fund charity of a little girl suffering from a very rare condition
* Chrysler gave a brand new mini van to a deserving family
* Santa received a Caribbean Cruise courtesy of Celebrity Cruise Line
* Audience members were given gift bags containing various items donated by several companies

There was a Holiday Quiz portion of the program, that contained one of the funniest moments ~

If there is a specific clip you would like to see from this show or any that aired last week, please leave your request in the comments section.

Please amend the Santa info to say he was given a chance to meet with an eye specialist to check out his loss of sight - to me that is waaaaaay more important than a cruise. I'm not materialistic.

I hope everybody had a terrific Christmas-Hanukah-Winter Solstice celebration. I had a great get-together with my family and a non-traditional meal of tacos.

I signed up at the "Anderson" website for the holiday gift bag even though I can't use the Georgetown Cupcake gift card. There's plenty of other good stuff and it's always fun to win something unexpected.

Loved the photos in the introduction clip of Anderson as a kid and his 2011 Christmas tree, which looks great au natural (and wow, what high ceilings he has).

I have never watched a complete show, but from watching these Santa clips, Anderson seems stilted and awkward.
Everything is so timed for him, all he does is read either his note
cards or the teleprompter.
From what I can tell there is no real emotion here, he just shows up.
And no, he could never be a game show host, but then I never thought much of his hosting abilites, period.

@judy, as you've stated many times when someone/anyone disagrees with your opinion of Anderson's show, you are entitled to your opinion. However, may I respectfully make a suggestion on behalf of those of us who don't have a problem with him or the show? If it's so painful for you to watch that you haven't yet made a positive comment, then just stop watching. You don't like the show or Anderson in it - okay, we get it. You don't have to keep repeating it - just stop watching. Please.
