Thanks for posting the NYE ratings; interesting and revealing to look at the numbers.
I didn't know Dick Clark's NYE show on ABC would be so popular but the prediction that it could be the week's highest-rated non-sports show will probably be true. Over 22 million viewers is impressive.
Anderson and Griffin had less than 10% of Clark's total viewers; CNN pulled in 1.805 million viewers, just edging out FOX's 1.738. However, CNN got more viewers in the 25-54 demographic and maybe that's all that matters to CNN head honchos. And again, maybe 1.8 million is good for cable.
I don't know what kind of ratings/demographics Anderson earned on NYE before Griffin joined him. But she's been there for a while and will probably be three again next NYE because the numbers CNN received were not bad enough to warrant any changes.
In any case, next NYE, I probably won't watch any of these shows, including Dick Clark.
Jaanza
Jaanza: Dick Clark needs to retire, however he owns and produces, supposedly, his NYE presentation.
Having said that, I did watch because of Lady Gaga and she was exceptional entertainment.
Ryan Seacrest's hosting skills are mediocre at best, but Disney seems to like him and I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the people in line for Regis'vacancy on "Live With Kelly."
In any event, I too, will not be watching KG.
Larry King also liked Seacrest, so just maybe there's something to him.
Only time will tell.
