A mixed Monday night for 360. The first segment about President Obama "politicizing" the killing of Osama bin Laden was rather ho-hum. All politicians use whatever accomplishments they can get when they campaign. If Republicans are bothered by this, big deal. But I did like Begala calling Sen. McCain "a bitter old man."

Nic Robertson's report and talking to Peter Bergen were the best parts of the show. Very intelligent and relevant. Joe Johns on the John Edwards trial was good too.

LIght and funny segments can be a nice change of pace but the Jimmy Kimmel segment went on way too long. And the clips weren't that humorous especailly when comapred to Stephen Colbert at the WH Press Correspondents Dinner years ago. Anderson obviously had a good time talking to Kimmel but I couldn't wait for this to end.

But it didn't end there, more Kimmel on the Ridiculist. I mentally tuned out and wondered if Anderson is embarrassed enough about his giggle-fits on the Ridiculist to not do them live anymore, why does he show the giggle-fits again?

I loved Anderson's segment on Al Qaeda and that Peter Bergen was in the studio with him. This is the AC360 that I know and love.

I enjoyed the Jimmy Kimmel segment, too.

I could have done without Ari Fleischer's take (apparently he, Romney and company all had brain farts considering how much W and Rudy did to politicize 9/11 and are too small to give credit where credit is due), but I'm sure Alex Costellanos is in hiding after his Meet The Press appearance yesterday. I always enjoy Paul Begala.

All in all a pretty good AC360.

The President's decision to take out Osama the way he/Seal Team 6 did was incredibly risky--if it had all gone wrong, the conservatives would've never let up on it--the President has every right to tout it. Martin Bashir of MSNBC said that if Bush had gotten Bin Laden, he'd be up on Mt. Rushmore trying to add his face into the mix--it is disingenuous for conservatives to take issue with President Obama taking credit for the death of Osama. Paul Begala was in command of the facts on 360 and was razor sharp with Fleischer.
