So great to see the President finally come out for same sex marriage and knowing that *if* he gets a second term, he'd most likely sign an executive order to make it the law of the land--in some ways it's a risky move, but the country has become more favorable to gay marriage over the years--I enjoyed the panel discussion, especially Evan Wolfson's comments.

Respnding to 360 with "Careless Whisper" lyrics?--smh. Loved the Ridiculist.

@aries moon: While I usually respect your opinion, in this case I utterly disagree with you.
President Obama is NOT going to sign any agreement on same sex marriage and make it the "law of the land," and it would be totally idiotic for him to do so.
It would be political suicide for his party, even though he would be in his second term.
Are you kidding me? Law of the Land???
Half this Country hasn't accepted the 1964 Civil Rights Amendment.
Have YOU actually traveled to the South lately and might I also add the West, like say Arizona??
I'm really surprised you'd make such a comment as you are always reasonable and articulate, but this time, totally wrong and out of touch.
Too much watching AC in the daytime.
Turn that set off and get out more.

It does not make one ounce of difference that the POTUS finally came out for same sex marriage.
Those voters who were for him will still be for him, and those who never accepted him because of race, will not vote in his favor.
It's that simple.
Biden opened his mouth and Obama had no choice.
It was, an uneasy decision for him and that is because half the country still does not accept same sex marriages. BUT knowing this, he would have lost part of his initial base, so he went with it.
The President likes to be viewed as a "family man," with the First Lady at his side and his two girls.
No one really believes for one second that he actually feels this way, but yes, this is all politics.
It will be a very close race in November and the President knows it.
Did he help himself? We shall see.
Half the country still believes that marriage is between a man and a woman and that will not change.
But Romney is a Mormon, and the other half of the country is uneasy with "a Mormon," and a super rich one at that.
