At 360's start, it looked like there was going to be a bunch of argle bargle about the new unemployment numbers. The introduction of Jack Welch had me searching around other channels. But then Ali Velshi is there, another 'long time no see'. Ali praised Welch as a businessman but then criticized his comments as nonsense and "What's your motive for saying this?" and "why didn't you call out Romney" on his lies on unemployment during the debate? and 'how can you claim cooked books? A conspiracy?' Welch didn't have any good answers. Bravo, Ali!

The segment on Romney flip-flopping on his 47% remark was very good. Anderson actually said Romney's new comments on this was "completely weird". During the panel Anderson pushed back twice on things Fleischer said. Personally, I'm glad they discussed Romney's position on insurance and pre-existing conditions. Roland Martin did a good job but I wish he wold have used the phrase "Flip-flop".

The rest of the show was alright but nothing spectacular.

The Ridiculist - about Romney cutting federal funding to PBS - was pretty good but I especaillly enjoyed the clip of Anderson on 'Sesame Street'.

Maybe someone on 360 pays attention to ATA and maybe not. They've got to be busy with more important work. However, we've been complaining about 360 looking like FOX and lately there appears to be a shift in the show, more balanced panels, and Anderson catches more mis-statements. Whatever the reason, I like the change.

Jack Welch had zero evidence that the employment number had been manipulated to benefit the Obama Administration--there's no reason to even talk to him unless it's just to make him look foolish and that's what Chris Matthews did on Hardball. Anderson seemed more accomodating to Welch's conspiracy theory although he did attempt to challenge him. If the number is not favorable to the president next month, we'll see if the conservatives break out the old conspiracy theory again, but I doubt it.

Glad to see Ari Fleischer getting some pushback from Anderson and Roland Martin--most reasonable people (including the "low information voters") know that Romney meant what he said on the hidden camera clip and most people know he's got no principles or convictions and will say anything for votes, so his backtracking now on the 47 percent comment is highly suspect. I'd like to believe that AC360 and Anderson are making an attempt to be a little more balanced in their coverage, but I'm not convinced they won't fall back into their usual pattern yet...but at least they're trying.

Anderson and Romney have one things in common.
Both will do anything for ratings.
Anything.

According to the NYT, neither Presidential candidate would do SNL
after the debate so they turned to
Big Bird for the Weedend Update.
I saw the debate parody and there really was no humor there.
Something tells me Big Bird will be around for another four years.
Now that is someone Anderson could have as a co-host for his day show, but he and his staff are not that innovative.

No they are not that "innovative" because 'Big Bird' would steal Anderson's spotlite.
