The best part of Thursday's 360 was the first segment. The news about Obama meeting with Sandy Hook parents at the White House led to one of the more interesting panels we've had in a while.

I've never seen/heard of Emily Miller before or of the Washington Times. You ask people to name a Washington newspaper 95% will say "The Washington Post'. Judging by Ms. Miller's time on 360, I'd have to guess the Washington Times is a Mickey Mouse operation. You have to wonder if the 360 producers intentionally tried to get a spokesperson from the conservative side who can't make a logical argument and can't debate without interrupting.

During the gun control discussion about background checks and closing loopholes, Miller was so loopy even Anderson told her "You just made a jump in logic." And a minute later when Anderson refuted what Miller said with a fact from the NYC police chief and asked her if she thought the police chief was lying, she replied, "He has an agenda." There were a couple of times I thought Cornell Belcher would burst out laughing at her.

The news from South Africa - Nelson Mandela and Oscar Pistorius - was pretty good.

Even though I like Bill Carter and have a couple of his books, I didn't understand spending an entire segment speculating on a possible Barbara Walters retirement which wouldn't even happen until next year.

It was a good idea for 360 to re-broadcast the crocodile report from '60 Minutes' for viewers who watch 360 but not '60 Minutes'. I know that might apply to international viewers but on the whole it can't be a big group of people.

And now for something completely different - Kathy Griffin and Anderson making a pilot for CNN. Does anyone know what kind of show this would be? Another copy of 'Kelly and the new Regis guy'? I'm not a fan of Griffin and worry about her being on CNN daily or weekly. It makes me worry about where Zucker is taking the network.

I've been going through some hassle to resurrect my old Google sign-on; haven't used it in a long time because I could post here Anonymously and it was a hassle to switch back and forth from my DH's Blogger identity and my own. This post is basically a test message.

Wow, that Emily Miller person was a trainwreck. I almost couldn't believe my eyes and ears. If I remember correctly they have had some pro-gun people on the show in the past that were able to participate in an intelligent and respectful discussion but must have been invited to with the intention to have her self-destruct live on air.

It really take a LOT to make Anderson to basically mock and openly show disdain for a guest but she seems to have achieved that. Congrats, lady.

I wasn't really able to focus on the next segments because I was still too confused about the stupid stuff I had just heard coming out of that woman's mouth.

Wonderful idea to show the 60 Minutes report on AC360! I watched it online in not so great quality so it was great to see it in its full glory. It's just as impressive watching it the second or third time.

Did they change the studio lighting a bit? At first I couldn't put my finger on it but it seems as if they illuminated his eyes better? He looked positively radiant, haha.

Where did they dig up Emily Miller? The Washington Times has a very poor reputation and is generally regarded as a joke. AC and Cornell seemed exasperated with her answers--AC doesn't normally bust into a debate to say someone has become illogical. Cornell Belcher is fine, but I would've liked to have seen Charles M. Blow debate Miller, he's pretty tough and where was Margaret Hoover or a more credible conservative to have the gun reform discussion?
