Well, it was a slow news day and another day I spent more time watching Hayes' substitute on MSNBC rather than watching Anderson. The lengthy report on MSNBC about the Washington Post, journalism, information and society was more interesting to me than Hasan and Bradley Manning's dad.

"AC 360 Later" - does everyone remember "To The Point"? That show failed miserably but there was another live panel discussion show Anderson was part of. I don't remember the name but I do remember a couple of the shows being really good and worthwhile and a couple being meh. It all depended upon what they were talking about and who was there. I'll have to do more research on Anderson's earlier attempt at this to jog my memory about what worked and what didn't work.

I'll watch "Later" and hope for the best.

The first (and perhaps the second) 360 panel show were very good with really lively discussions (I remember AC and Andrew Sullivan having a little battle over gay slurs). Christianne Amanpour and Jeffrey Toobin were smart choices for the show since they were going to use in-house talent, but I didn't like that Christianne sort of bulldozed over everyone, including AC, who couldn't really control her. When they brought in McCain, Giuliani the show began to slide a bit in quality, IMO. They shouldn't just rely so much on CNN pundits/panelists/correspondents when there are plenty of interesting folks out there who can speak on a variety of issues--try not to be stale and boring--I hope they get creative and really think of a way to make this show compelling. I'm happy they decided to go with this format for the 10 pm hour--I was hoping they would.
