Anderson Cooper 360 Wednesday, 09/11/2013

8:00PM  AC360:
* Russia and a diplomatic resolution to Syria
*Destroying Syria's chemical weapons
*George Zimmerma's domestic dispute/divorce turns ugly
*New trial for convicted killer
*Newlywed accused of killing husband by pushing him off cliff
*360 Bulletin:  Isha Sesay
*Tribute to victims of 9/11

 10:00PM  AC360Later:
Panelists:  Christiane Armanpour, Charles Blow, Andrew Sullivan and Maajid Nawaz

Maahid Nawaz was an excellent guest; very informative and the panel was very respectful and asked good questions except when the two out of studio guests were brought it and the fireworks broke out.  Too bad the AC360Later Team just didn't stick to the in-studio panel, as the informative guests make for a much smarter program and viewer.

From Monday night's AC360 Later.  Did Anderson Cooper forget to wear socks?

I must say I prefer AC360Later over AC360 now. AC360 8pm consisted of tiresome anti-Obama panels and McCain (yawn) run of the mill Randi Kaye C&P reports. The 9/11 tribute was the only worthwhile moment in the show.

360Later on the other hand was compelling TV that held my attention for the full hour--I could've done without seeing Mike Doran on the show, it was bad enough listening to him on 360. Maahid Nawaz was a stellar guest, someone who knew what he was talking about--these are the sort of people they need to find to keep the quality level high. I'm wondering if the panel will always consist of Amanpour and Sullivan or if they're going to switch it up--I don't mind if it stays as is though--it's been a pleasure to listen to them cover Syria/politics in depth.

The 8 PM show started out well with a rundown of the plan for Syria to give up chemical weapons and a good talk with Jim Acosta about the plan's viability and the Russian proposal and future participation.

However, the moment McCain was introduced I changed the channel. Hayes was talking Rep. Barbara Lee (who doesn't make me nauseous) and then I had to stay because the next politician was Minnesota's own Rep. Keith Ellison. For those who watched Anderson's interview with McCain, was it the usual pablum questions and prattling answers?

The segment with David Kay and Robert Baer discussing the implementation of the new Syria plan was pretty good. These guys know what they're talking about and didn't seem politically warped.

I did not watch the segments on Zimmerman, new trial for killer mom or murdering newlywed. I did see the 9/11 Remembrance and thought it was nicely done.

Still have not seen 360Later. When is it repeated? I can't really trust the info grid because it's often wrong. For example, at 9 PM the info button said "The Flag" and it was "Piers Anthony Live".

have to say that I love Anderson's comment about how no one can say that they had no idea what's been going on in Syria with all the pictures and videos coming out of there daily.
