The promo for NYE with KG is really somewhat of a joke but does show AC's ability to attempt stand up comedy guess it is change from reading news.He must enjoy year after year being embarrased &insulted by KG on national tv. We think his comments both before during &after show are just a scripted set of lines.Negative comments on SM are asampling of how his large fan base feel. They respect him for a variety of reasons but wonder at him doing this kind of program with such a low rated insulting comedy performer even tho friends she is insulting to him. Here in Canada we will reluctantly pass on AC and will be watching either Ryan Seacrest or Global.will be interesting to see ratings for various NYE programs.Hope all contributers have great New Years .

Dec.26 -missed first part of program but secknd part had some good chuckles.Think CNN missed boat re NYE -should have combined Toronto Mayof Rob Ford, Justin Bieber, Mylie Cyrus PaulaDean &the panel from dec 26 program which was one of the best AC360 has had panelisf sitting to left of AC &also member of LGBT has great personality &should be on more.Am sure the above would make a good show maybe not familg type but good change. Program ended on funny note with Wolf &hilarious ridiculist from AC birthday.

@4:27PM: You make some very good points....some of us here in the
states feel AC actually thinks he's funny and no one seems to recognize it.
Remind me not to watch.

Dec 26 -rumour has it AC can be life of the party but think its with a different type of people than fof NYE show. On his prev talk show at times he was quite humerous in sort of different way but then it was a different network &certainly in season 1 he was relaxed &happy In season 2 he had some funny times despite being stuck with some odd ball co hosts..Lately he seems tired or something but this year has not been greatest for him with problems in his eyes , shoulder problems, etc plus stresses of work. Would have been nice had he left CNN at contract time &gone to network where he did more than sit & read teleprompter. On lighter note maybe just male-middle age catching up with him ! LOL

I heard a while ago Anderson had shoulder surgery. Does anyone know why? What was wrong?

No Sushi shoe drop this year?

Anon 6:02 AM Maybe since John Z is no longer at CNN they aren't including Sushi(I will miss her. Had watched NYE w/AC since the beginning, but am tired of Kathy G and her comments, also Anderson's fake surprise that Kathy will be his cohost. Someday she will go a bit too far and that will be the end of it, hopefully it will be this year.

I don't think Anderson is feigning shock that Kathy is his co-host, I took it as feigning shock that the network would ALLOW the two of them on the air together for NYE. He knows exactly what will happen....they usually only get 1.5 hrs on the air, and this year they are getting 3.5 hrs of airtime, so I think the network is quite happy having the two of them together! Perhaps they are a bit too much for all the 'Serious Anderson' fans here who don't like seeing him lighten things up a little (like his celebrity pieces on 60Mins that have been complained about ad nausem, and when he had his daytime show, how much respect a lot of his fans at this site lost for him cuz they didn't like seeing this lighter side of him. But guess what, he as ALWAYS had this lighter side, and sometimes he chooses to show to the world. I love it when he does, and it doesn't take away any of the respect I have for him as a serious news journalist either! (end of rant)
