Anderson Cooper 360 on Friday, July 31, 2015

Anderson Cooper anchored AC360 from the NYC studio.  For the first time in several days there was no Trump segment/panel!   Below is the segment with the latest on Cecil the lion concerning the possibility his brother is protecting the cubs and the U.S. dentist that hunted him facing possible extradition.:

Again too much time on Mh370. The discussion on that lasted almost 25 minutes. Same old discussions, speculations, panels, theories. Its all tired rehash stuff that needs to be edit. There was a discussion about Hilary but this time, AC started off by...attacking her wealth. Interesting Trump talks about his money and AC seems charmed. Hilary disclosed by tax returns she and Bill have made 140 million and jaws are supposed to drop? A bit hypocritical. Now Hilary may have exaggerated when she said they were "broke" After Bills second term. But no way she should be attacked for her wealth. AC should know better. He has his CNN salary, 60 mins, book sales, speaking engagements, real estate. There's nothing wrong with making legal money. Anyway, the best segment was on Cecil the Lion and his cubs. It seems an uncle will protect them. Also good reporting on the seedy world of poaching and sales of exotic animals body parts. I can't tell how disgusted and sad I felt thinking the pain these animals went through. I so wish it was illegal everywhere and more crackdowns on these horrible practices. Excellent segment on that.

Yesterday I wished for less time spent on MH370 for today's 360 and lo and behold! Only two segments on MH370! However, the new news today about the pieces found on Reunion Island will be sent to France to be tested, could have been covered in one segment. A lot of the MH370 news was again speculation on what happened in the plane to cause it to go off track.
In the first MH370 segment, there was a panel with Richard Quest, Miles O'Brien and David Soucie.
In the second MH370 segment, the panel was Quest, O'Brien and John Gogila.
In both panels they analyzed the facts and guessed what might have happened. At times the talk was very technical.

Thanks for posting the entire segment on Cecil the Lion and Palmer the dentist. I missed part of the panel because the kitchen smoke alarm started beeping (no actual fire). This segment was my favorite and I'm so glad Cecil's cubs are being protected by their uncle.. I appreciated hearing the facts about extradition and the feelings about whether Palmer will be forced back to Zimbabwe. Both Jack Hanna and Danny Cevallos did a great job. I liked seeing videos of the latest protests at Palmer's dental office; it's amazing the signs and toy animals have not been moved by anyone connected to Palmer or even a custodian of the building.

Next was a decent report from Drew Griffin about "Exotic Animal Trade"; whole and parts of undangered wild animals bought and sold throughout the world. Because of dealing with the smoke alarm, I didn't see the whole segment. Was Cecil or Palmer mentioned at all? I ask because this report may have been from a year or two ago and recycled now.

Hillary Clinton has released her tax records from the past 8 years; Jeff Zeleny had all the details. Was it good to see a Democrat get a little attention or was it bad because all the finances were shown in a negative light? I have to ask because I watched Hayes talk about the GOP debate coming up.

The last segment was about the murder of Samual Dubose by Officer Tensing in Cincinnati. I saw Jason Carroll at the start of the piece but went back to Hayes.

On MSBNC there was a commercial about the first GOP debate even though they're not broadcasting it. The commercial touted how heavily they will cover the debate, analyze it and go on and on about it. Unless something big and dramatic happens somewhere else - another Cecil? an earthquake? - I expect CNN will also have heavy reporting on the debate.

PRIOR TO THE GOP DEBATES ON FOX NEWS THIS THURSDAY, CHRIS CHRISTIE TOLD JAKE TAPPER IN A CNN INTERVIEW THAT THE NATIONAL TEACHERS ASSOCIATIONS WERE "THE SINGLE MOST DESTRUCTIVE FORCE IN AMERICA." OBVIOUSLY CHRISTIE STILL HASN'T CONNECTED THE DOTS BETWEEN THE FACT THAT HE IS LOSING
BIG TIME IN ALL THE POLLS AND HIS HATE FOR EDUCATORS.
SOMEONE MUST TELL THIS A..HOLE THAT TEACHERS OVERWHELMINGLY: VOTE, NATIONALLY AND STATE WIDE.
AND WE ARE NOT THE "SINGLE MOST DESTRUCTIVE FORCE IN AMERICA,: MORON....TRY THE NATIONAL GUN ASSOCIATION, WHICH FITS THE GOVERNORS DESCRIPTIONS OF "BULLIES," IF ONLY HE HAD THE GUMPTION TO ACTUALLY SPEAK THE TRUTH FOR ONCE, AND STOP HIS FALSE RHETORIC THAT WON HIM THE NJ ELECTION IN O9
PROPERTY TAXES ARE HIGHER THAN EVER IN NJ AND HE'S TANKING IN THE POLLS IN HIS VERY OWN STATE.
NOT A GOOD SIGN GOVERNOR.....MAYBE HE SHOULD TRY A NEW APPROACH AS A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BECAUSE
THIS ONE IS NOT WORKING.
