Below is Monday night's Trump panel.  We are posting it because it was mentioned in comments on last night's post and also because one of the panel members, Michael Cohen (Executive Vice-President of Trump Organization), was mentioned in tonight's report and panel discussion:

Below is a link to the article in The Daily Beast that was referenced in tonight's Trump report and panel discussion.  Please click on the link below for the full article.  We've only included a couple of highlights.

Ex-Wife: Donald Trump Made Me Feel ‘Violated’ During Sex
Michael Cohen, special counsel at The Trump Organization, defended his boss, saying, “You’re talking about the frontrunner for the GOP, presidential candidate, as well as a private individual who never raped anybody. And, of course, understand that by the very definition, you can’t rape your spouse.” ... “It is true,” C

Trump’s lawyer then changed tactics, lobbing insults and threatening a lawsuit if a story was published. “I will make sure that you and I meet one day while we’re in the courthouse. And I will take you for every penny you still don’t have. And I will come after your Daily Beast and everybody else that you possibly know,” Cohen said. “So I’m warning you, tread very fucking lightly, because what I’m going to do to you is going to be fucking disgusting. You understand me?”

“You write a story that has Mr. Trump’s name in it, with the word ‘rape,’ and I’m going to mess your life up… for as long as you’re on this frickin’ planet… you’re going to have judgments against you, so much money, you’ll never know how to get out from underneath it,” he added.

THE NY POST HAD THIS AS A LEAD STORY AND IT WENT NO WHERE. I'M NO TRUMP FAN, THOUGH I MUST ADMIT HE
CERTAINLY BROUGHT CINDY LAUPER'S CAREER BACK TO LIFE, AND LATOYA JACKSON WILL NEVER FORGIVE NE NE
LEAKS FOR SHOWING LATOYA'S STUPIDITY, BUT THAT'S ANOTHER STORY.
DO WE REALLY CARE IF "THE DONALD'S FIRST WIFE" WAS VIOLATED DURING HER MARRIAGE?? THEY WERE TWO
CONSENTING ADULTS....AS FAR AS WE KNOW, AND IT WAS YEARS AGO.
AND AS FAR AS PARENTING GOES, HAVING WATCHED THE APPRENTICE, I GIVE TRUMP A GOLD STAR FOR RAISING
CHILDREN WHO ACTUALLY SEEM TO RESPECT HIM. MANY MAY SHRUG AND SAY THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS,
BUT IT DOES SHOW CHARACTER AND VALUES.....TWO COMMODITIES THAT ARE SORELY MISSING IN CHILD REARING
TODAY.
SO NO, MR TRUMP'S DAUGHTERS ARE NOT GOING TO STICK THEIR BUSHY TONGUES OUT AT THE PRESS OR DRESS UP IN
NAZIS COSTUMES LIKE PRINCE HARRY. THEY WILL ACT RESPECTFULLY IN PUBLIC, NO MATTER WHAT.

Thanks, ATA, for posting the video of yesterday's political panel with Michael Cohen and Ana Navarro. The 360 website later had only a minute and a half clip of it. Navarro is good at stating people are liking Trump only because of their anger and frustration at Washington. What she leaves unsaid, is why other non-Washington GOP candidates, like former Florida Governor Bush, can't tap into that anger to get more support for themselves. Cohen easily evades the point of proof for Trump's immigration comments "If Donald Trump has the proof, Donald Trump will provide it." Instead of asking Cohen about Trump making comments without any proof, Anderson changed the subject. Lastly, regarding accessibilty to the press, a Spanish-language interview with Telemundo (as Jeb did) does not connect to most Americans.
Survey time! How many ATA commenters know enough Spanish to understand a political interview?
Not me.

Tuesday's 360 started with four minutes on the guilty plea of Joyce Mitchell, the prison worker who helped Sweat and Matt escape. Randi Kaye was there with the details
Then, Trump. Or more specifically, the stupid thing his lawyer Michael Cohen (same guy as the one above) said about marital rape. Cohen later apologized. What he said, his apology and what Trump said about Cohen's remark was the rest of the first segment. Jeff Zeleny had the report and Jeffrey Lord, Ana Navarro and Donna Brazile was the panel. DONNA BRAZILE!!! I loved seeing her again and wish she'd be on more often. Most notable comments in the panel was Lord stating it wasn't as bad as Hillary Clinton's biggest advisor, her husband Bill, sexual imprieties back in the 90's. And then Brazilel wondering, when marital rape is illegal in all 50 states and has been for years, why this "lawyer" didn't know that.

I wish Anderson had spent some time covering the backlash to Huckabee's comment on Obama, the Iran nuke deal, Isreal and ovens. It's serious backlash from well-respected Jewish organizations and Huckabee's comment that 'Jews loved my commetn' does not mesh with reality.

My favorite half-segment was Tom Foreman explaining next week's GOP debate. Who the top 10 might be, who decides that, who will or won't get in and what will the impact be. I've been wondering about that. Anderson's talk with John King about the debate focused too much on Trump and how Trump might be preparing for it.

New England Patriot's quarterback Tom Brady's four-day suspension has been upheld. Rachel Nichols and Jeffrey Toobin discussed and analyzed.

The search for the two 14-year-old boys missing off the coast of Florida continues. After a report by Martin Savidge, Anderson talked to Tom Staples about the boys' chances of survival and the search.

Even though the guy is a fellow Minnesotan, I want Walter Palmer to spend 20 years in a South African prison for killing Cecil the Lion. David McKenzie reported the details of Palmer's hunt, how Cecil died and included the info of Palmer shooting a bear under questionable circumstances a few years ago. My favorite line was McKenzie, summing up Palmer's "apology", saying "...He's passing the buck onto professionals..." that is, blaming his hunting guides. The local news here had footage of stuffed toys, lions and tigers and other wild animals, being left at the door of Palmer's dental office. McKenzie stated Palmer's whereabouts are unknown but I hope he's quckly found and tossed in prison.
A report on an alleged lion loose in Milwaukee was also in this segment. If it's a real lion, I hope it's safely captured and taken to a wildlife refuge place.

The last minute was not so much a recap of Mitchell and her guilty plea, it was more a promo for the CNN special coming up next on the escaped convicts.

I like Anderson's screengrab photo at the top of today's post.

I skipped over the Sweat/Matt/Mitchell prison drama but changed my mind and watched it after reading some of the funny comments on Twitter about AC's very uncomfortable reaction to Randi Kaye's graphic report and the segment didn't disappoint. Randi Kaye wasn't the slightest bit uncomfortable with this story and she almost seemed to be enjoying hitting AC with the cringe-worthy details. I was over this story weeks ago, but yes, I'm shallow but watching AC squirm and be all embarrassed makes me laugh.

It took a while for 360 to finally take a look at the GOP debate rules dictated by Fox News and which of the candidates may not make it to the stage. Rachel Maddow's been reporting on this for a while and says that Fox using the latest polling data to determine who gets to debate is ridiculous and it's doing a disservice to the candidates and the voters--why should Fox News be making the decision on who gets to debate? It's crazy. Donna Brazile was a nice surprise in the panel discussion.

Since I watched the prison report, I decided to check out the other stories on 360 that I normally wouldn't bother watching--I hope the two 14 year old boys in Florida will be found alive and I hope the killer of Cecil the lion is punished severely.

@anonymous 7/29/15, 12:17 AM just because you are married doesn't mean you automatically consent to sex with your spouse. If you don't want to and the other person has sex with you without your permission, that is rape.

Regarding criticisms of McCain: I think Bobby Jindal said this: when you have spent five and a half years being tortured as a prison of war, you can weigh in on how brave he is or what kind of a hero he is.

I'm not talking about his politics, I don't agree with him, but after being released, he could have stayed low, worked a "regular" job and not continued in public service but he has. He is old enough to retire, put his feet up, but he keeps going.

I saw an excerpt from Dana Bash interviewing Trump and I honestly think Anderson handled Trump alot better than Dana. She didn't even get a word in and wasn't really able ask any great questions without Trump babbling on about how much money he has.

"HE'S OLD ENOUGH TO RETIRE, BUT HE KEEPS GOING."
YES, THIS WAS A COMMENT BY ANOTHER ANON AND IT WAS ABOUT THE HEROISM OF JOHN MC CAIN.
HE MARRIED VERY, VERY, VERY, WELL AND HE WILL NEVER RETIRE BECAUSE THAT WOULD MEAN HE WOULDN'T
BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT. AND ABOUT "THE MARRIAGE," IT WAS HIS SECOND AFTER HE CAME HOME FROM BEING'
CAPTURED....RETIRE AND LEAD A LIFE A QUIET SOLITUDE. HOW WOULD ANYONE KNOW HE WAS ONCE A HERO IF HE
DIDN'T CONSTANTLY REMIND US???

THE NY TIMES IS REPORTING THAT MR TRUMP HAS LITTLE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TECH OR DIGITAL WORLD.
HE RARELY EMAILS, NEVER TWEETS, AND JUST RECENTLY GOT A COMPUTER THAT HE RARELY USES.
THIS HAS NOT IMPEDED HIM IN ANYWAY BUSINESS WISE, BUT IT IS, IN THIS DIGITAL WORLD, TELLING.
YES, IT IS NECESSARY FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES TO BE ABLE TO FUNCTION AND BE COMPUTER
LITERATE. IN THE LAST CENTURY WOULD WE HAVE ACCEPTED SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO READ OR WRITE.
EVEN THOUGH HE WAS VERY WEALTHY?
PRESIDENT OBAMA SEEMS FAIRLY LITERATE DIGITALLY AND HILLARY, WHO IS MR TRUMP'S AGE, HAS A PERSONAL
EMAIL ACCOUNT. SO HOW CAN WE, IN ALL FAIRNESS GIVE DONALD TRUMP A PASS WHEN HE HAS PURPOSELY NOT
BOTHERED TO KEEP UP WITH THE REST OF THE GLOBAL WORLD AND BE OUR PRESIDENT?

Anon 7/29/15, 10:17 PM you seem annoyed that he keeps reminding us. Have you wondered why he can't raise his arms all the way up?

Are you a veteran? Did you volunteer as he did? did you serve in combat? were you captured and tortured for 5 1/2 years? If you answer yes to one of these questions, then you can judge him.

BTW, he is not the one reminding us, it is all of the people who are thankful for his service. He doesn't even consider himself a hero.

@ANON 10:50 YES, I AM MORE THAN ANNOYED THAT HE KEEPS REMINDING US AND LET ME REMIND YOU THAT HE HAS DONE VERY LITTLE FOR THE VETERAN ADMINISTRATION AND TRUMP IS RIGHT IN BEING CRITICAL OF HIM.
LET ME ALSO REMIND YOU....AND HIM...HE LOST AS A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY LIKE MYSELF WHO DISLIKE HIM AND LET ME ALSO REMIND YOU THAT YOUR GREAT HERO MC CAIN DID IN DEED PUT OUR
COUNTRY AT RISK BY CHOOSING SARAH STUPID PALIN, AS HIS RUNNING MATE.
NO I'VE NEVER WONDERED ABOUT MC CAIN'S ARMS...CAN'T STAND THE SIGHT OF HIM FRANKLY.
TO A LARGE MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION, AND THIS INCLUDES JON STEWART, WHO REFUSES TO HAVE HIM ON
HIS PROGRAM, HE IS A TIRED BITTER OLD MAN WHO NEVER GOT OVER LOSING TO OBAMA.
GET OVER YOURSELF.
