Although I was three minutes late, I don't think I missed anything. Anderson was talking with Dana Bash about "GOP Debate Night". I liked seeing Donna Brazile again and hope she gets a lot more airtime. Jeffrey Lord and Ana Navarro were also on the panel. Nothing extraordinary was said, a lot of the expected comments especially from Navarro the Jeb supporter. One odd thing was one of the on-screen titles "Fiorina Gets Big Buzz After First GOP Debate". What? "After" the debate? The debate hadn't happened yet; it's a LIVE (truly LIVE) broadcast almost 50 minutes after that title showed up on the screen.

The second segment was all about Trump. After a few clips from Anderson's interview with Trump, David Gergen and Jeffrey Lord talked about Trump's lack of specifics. How specific are the other GOP candidates on plans for ISIS, Mexico and everything else? Just what is Scott Walker's Iran policy? Nobody knows and nobody talks about it.

John King, Gloria Borger and Ana Malika Henderson covered debate preparation and 'who has the most to gain/lose'?

Then back to Trump. Randi Kaye had a report on Trump's past skirmishes with celebrities like Seth Meyers and Rosie O'Donnell. Then there was a panel with Jeffrey Lord and Van Jones but I mostly channelsurfed.

The non-GOP Debate segment covered the news of the Russians hacking into the Joints Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon, there was a short Q&A with Barbara Starr. Also the news of more airplane debris thought to be from MH370 washing ashore as reported by Andrew Stevens.

In the last few seconds of the show, Anderson asked viewers to join him at 11 pm for post-debate analysis. Three points here:
- And miss Jon Stewart's final show?
- After 'Project Runway', around 10:35 pm, the debate must have been over because MSNBC was doing their post-debate analysis while CNN was still showing a repeat of 'The Seventies'.
- All I need is four or five minutes outlining the big stuff; I don't need a two-hour analysis.

@Janza Fiorina and the other GOP candidates debated at 5pm. So the title was correct. There was a small debate and then the main one at prime time.

Fox News is not my cup of tea, but the debate hosts asked tougher questions of the candidates than I've ever seen Anderson do when he's interviewed Republican politicians. Everyone was fawning over John Kaisch--he may seem to be the reasonable candidate among that bunch, but my idea of a compassionate conservative is one who doesn't support those Voter I.D. laws that only serve to disenfranchise millions of eligible voters (mostly Democrats). Kaisch hasn't denounced those laws and his actual record is not moderate the way the press likes to present it. Chris Christie looked like a fool trying to turn his horrible record in New Jersey into something positive. I'm sure the citizens of that state aren't going to be fooled by that act. AC had some brief interviews with Democratic reps--he seemed to push back on them a little more than he does with conservative reps but maybe that's just me being paranoid again.

ALTHOUGH THE DEBATE WAS HELD ON FOX NEWS, IT IS CERTAIN EVERYONE WILL BE TALKING ABOUT THE POLL
RATINGS OF 24 MILLION, THE HIGHEST IN GOP HISTORY AND YES, THE DONALD WILL BE SHAKING HANDS AND
SAYING TO EVERYONE AT FOX, "IT WAS I WHO BROUGHT YOU THOSE NUMBERS, GUYS. YOU OWE ME, BIG TIME."
AND HE'S PROBABLY RIGHT BUT LET'S BE CLEAR ABOUT "THE TRUMP EFFECT,"AS I LIKE TO CALL IT.
TRUMP IS LIKE A BAD CAR WRECK ON THE HIGHWAY. CURIOSITY USUALLY GETS THE BEST OF US ALL, AND WHILE
WE CERTAINLY DON'T WANT TO BE IN THAT UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT, WE JUST CAN'T HELP BUT SLOW DOWN AND
WATCH IT....AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED WITH LAST NIGHTS RATINGS.
SO SHAKE ALL THE HANDS YOU WANT MR.TRUMP, BUT WHEN REASONABLE PEOPLE, ACTUALLY GO TO VOTE, THEY WILL NOT BE PART OF YOUR 1%, AND THEY WILL VOTE THEIR OWN SMALL POCKETBOOKS.
AND YOU, FOR THE MOMENT AT LEAST, REPRESENT PURE 'ENTERTAINMENT.'
