Anderson Cooper 360 on Friday, September 11, 2015

Anderson Cooper anchored AC360 from the NYC studio on this September 11th.   There was a KTH segment featuring Mike Huckabee flunking history:

An interview with former Navy SEAL Jimmy Hatch:

And Remembering 9/11 (Since AC360 actually showed a few seconds of President Obama speaking - which is very rare - we included it in this clip):

We are not sure what happened to the interview with tennis star James Blake.  Anderson said last night that he would be a guest on AC360 tomorrow night/tonight.   The video of his rough take down by the NYPD was played in tonight's bulletin, but no mention of him being a guest on AC360.

From social media:

It appears Anderson posted the same photo Jimmy Hatch posted yesterday.

Besides missing the first 7 minutes of Friday's 360, there were also other chunks of the show I didn't watch. When I got to 360, Anderson was talking to Rudy Guiliani. The on-screen title was "Perry Suspends Campaign" but I didn't hear that being discussed. I did hear Guiliani say the country was "more vulnerable, less safe" and quite a bit on Trump, Jeb and campaigning in Iowa and New Hampshire.

If you haven't seen the Huckabee segment, watch it on the ATA post, it's good stuff. Anderson, in a long soliloquy, pointed out what Huckabee got wrong about the Supreme Court, judicial review and the Dred Scott decision. Loved the plug for Ken Burns' "The Civil War". This topic came about because of Huckabee's support for homophobe Kim Davis and his attempt to justify her actions. There was a a good analysis with Jeffrey Toobin.

Three things about the two segments on former Navy SEAL Jimmy Hatch (he participated in a rescue for Bowe Bergdahl):
- it was so incredibly obviously not live but the LIVE button was on the whole time
- it looked like it would be on '60 Minutes' soon
- it was on the same time Hayes was covering the James Blake tackle by police and mistaken arrest. I didn't know until readking today's ATA post that Anderson said yesterday he'd be interviewing Blake today. I stayed with Hayes because I felt like Anderson wouldn't be reporting on this story. Maybe Anderson's Blake interview will be aired Monday?

During the second Jimmy Hatch segment, I watched Hayes report on Joe Biden's visit to the "Late Show" with sevreal clips of his talk with Stephen Colbert. This was followed by a panel discussing politicians with real authenticity and those with plastic fake facades.

360's crime segment had more about the Phoenix freeway shootings and a new story on a police chase/hostage situation in Los Angeles. Then it was the Bulletin. The James Blake news was blip #2 and it was a longer than the usual blip but not as good as a full segment.

The last few minutes was a 9/11 remembrance. It was well done and ATA also has that video in today's post.

There was nothing in the show about Biden on the "Late Show", his first televised interview since the death of his son Beau. Other CNN shows covered it. Friday night Trump was on the "Tonight Show". Any guesses on how much time and attention this will get on Monday's 360?

The disdain I have for Huckabee, Cruz, walker and several other gop nut jobs is indefinite! Huckabee belongs to have white sheets over him. He should be with his outdated, centuries views be disqualified from running for the countries highest office! Racist, homophobic bigot. Some of these people won't like it if they met me in person because I will have strong words for them. Jeffery Toobin had good words about the case or lack of legal case Davis has and how the amendments allow born citizens to be Natural citizens of this country. He is the bigot of bigots. Some of my ancestors were brought her against their freaking will and I'll be damn that part of my heritage is not legal in this country. Absurd words from this clown! I mostly watch the U.S Open. Federer and Djokovic will meet in the final, both playing well should be a good match. I cut to don lemon later and before he made a point about race, I changed the channel. Likes to brag he lives in Harlem. Good for you, I bet he ignores all of his neighbors. AC 360 reported on a few things yesterday but of course on Trump, polls. Some celebs were complaining about lack of coverage on 9-11. I happened to agree. A lot of news stations ignored loved one's name the victims and bell tolls. Shame on cnn and other networks skipping this to report on Trump nonsense! Shame on CNN! Despicable!

So you would rather listen to a discussion about a politician on a talk show than listen to an interview with a man who was injured trying to rescue a deserter and who now raises money for dogs? Ok.... The people here have some really weird preferences.....

We all have a right to what we watch; if you don't like it maybe you should find another place to post,

I HAPPEN TO AGREE THAT MUCH MORE TRIBUTE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN 9/11 ON CNN.
WE DIDN'T NEED TO HEAR ABOUT TRUMP, OR HILLARY, OR ANY OTHER PARTISAN CANDIDATE ON AN OFFICIAL DAY
OF MOURNING.
9/11 WAS THE MOST HORRIFIC ATTACK ON OUR SHORES AND REINFORCED THE VULNERABILITY OF OUR NATION. NEVER BEFORE HAVE OUR WEAKNESSES BEEN LAID BARE IN AN UNDECLARED ACT OF WAR.
OUR GENERATION AND EVERYONE ABOVE THE AGE OF TEN, WILL REMEMBER JUST WHERE THEY WERE, AND JUST WHAT
THEY WERE DOING. SO TRUMP AND HIS BAND OF MERRY GOP MAKERS, COULD HAVE WAITED ONE MORE DAY FOR THE SILENCE THAT WAS HEARD AROUND THE WORLD.....AND AN ACT OF AGGRESSION THAT WE ARE STILL,
DEALING WITH TO THIS DAY. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
