I like the screen grab photo of Anderson on top of today's ATA post. He looks good in his glasses and I like the expression on his face.

What's the point of reporting a news story (especially one labelled "BREAKING NEWS") for only two minutes at the start of the show and then wait a half hour before covering it fully? When Monday's 360 started Anderson and Michelle Kosinski talked about President Obama's upcoming executive action decision on background checks for gun purchases. But most of the first segment was on the 2016 presidential election with emphasis on what Trump has been saying about Hillary and Bill Clinton. It was the same old stuff we've all heard before. Hayes was also on the 2016 electioni but his coverage was broader and included info on other candidates. When I checked back to 360 there was a Randi Kaye report on the viewpoints from Clinton supporters at Bill Clinton's speech in New Hampshire.
It was great seeing Donna Brazile in the panel. She talked tough with Jeffrey Lord and Carl Bernstein. However, I didn't like Anderson's question about Bill not responding to Trump's rants, "Why hasn't Bill responded? CAN he respond?" BAH!!! Maybe Bill doesn't want to dignify Trump's blathering by responding to it or giving it any more attention than it deserves, like some in the media do. Carl Bernstein mentioned Hillary's "hypocrisy" when it comes to women's issues but didn't give any examples. Lord brought up Bill's mistresses, Brazile blasted back at that and Lord laughed at her.
It used to be I didn't want to watch any coverage of Trump. Now, in addition, I don't want to watch Lord either; he doesn't deserve any of my attention.

I didn't watch much of the second segment all about Trump, Cruz and the primaries. It probably had too much Trump.

When I got back to 360 it was a Gary Tuchman report from a gun show and it was a good piece. Also good was Anderson's Q&A with Jeffrey Toobin about the legalities of Obama's executive order and what effect it may have.

If nobody paid any attention to the men protesting at an Oregon wlldlife refuge, would they all just go away? They are protesting the federal government regulations on land, the charges against two poachers and seem basically pissed off about the government for lots of reasons. Sara Sidner had the report. Hayes also reported on these guys but also included what a couple of GOP presidential candidates have said about them (which was fun and curious how finely they are straddling the line between law-and-order and the right to protest one's government all the while trying not to irritate any Republican voter out there).

The best part of the first hour was the segment on the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Fareed Zakaria was excellent in explaining it all.

At the end of the first hour Anderson previewed the second hour - Trump Trump Trump. I didn't watch.

Although I was a little distracted and not fully paying attention to 360, I did hear Donna Brazile making the case for Democrats, women and Bill and Hillary over Trump--she rolled over Jeff Lord and AC didn't really try to stop her, which was unusual for him. PJ O'Rourke also got in some blunt criticism of Trump and his supporters that isn't often heard much these days on cable news.

I liked how NYE show shook up the formula a little bit this year with AC and Kathy in the hotel and the taped pieces.

Trump sure as hell should not bring up about a spouse being unfaithful. What a hypocrite. I'm not overjoyed at Clinton. His policies hurt the glbt especially dadt and doma. I carw if he's pro gay now, he should have been years ago like Bernie sanders. He and Hilary are flip floppers and can't be trusted. Now that I said that his personal life has nothing to do with his wife running for President. Now we don't know what agreement the Clinton's have but they stayed married. My own father had an affair on my mom when I was very young but she forgave him. Their private life is there business!

CONSERVATIVES HAVE SOME NERVE SAYING THAT THE PRESIDENT'S TEARS FOR THE SLAIN CHILDREN IN SANDY
HOOK TODAY WERE NOT AUTHENTIC! COULD THEY GET ANYMORE DISGUSTING? WHAT A DESPICABLE LOT OF LOSERS.
PRESIDENT OBAMA IS A MAN OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAPPENS TO ALSO BE A FATHER, SO IT IS QUITE UNDERSTANDABLE THAT THIS THOUGHT, WOULD VISIBLY UPSET HIM.
WHAT I PERSONALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY HE WAITED SO LONG TO ACT. HOPEFULLY ANDERSON WILL ASK
HIM THAT DURING THE PRESIDENT'S TOWN HALL MEETING ON THURSDAY. THIS IS THE ANDERSON I LIKE TO SEE....A REPORTER
REPORTING ABOUT SOMETHING THAT TRULY GOES TO THE HEART OF THE MATTER AND HAS SOME SUBSTANCE.
COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT GARY TUCHMAN'S INTERVIEW WITH THOSE AT THE GUN SHOW. WE KNOW THEY LOVE "THEM GUNS." HE SHOULD HAVE ASKED THEM WHY THEY NEEDED SEMI-AUTOMATIC WEAPONS OR, IS THEIR "LOVE" ONLY FOR ACCURACY AND SPEED.
AND SPEAKING OF LOVE....THE PIX OF KATHY AND AC FULLY DRESSED IN BED TOGETHER IS PROBABLY THE
FUNNIEST NYE PIX OF THE NIGHT. BOTH BORED TO DEATH WITH ONE ANOTHER.
