Weeks ago when I wrote I wanted some big other news to knock the 2016 presidential campaigns (most of them concentrating on the GOPs) from the first segment I meant GOOD news. Like Queen Elizabeth painting the Big Ben tower bright purple and doing it herself with video of her in painter's overalls on scaffolding around the tower applying the paint. Not bad news like what happened in Brussels.

Anderson did a good job covering it all. I missed the first two minutes, came in when he was talking with Pamela Brown. Then Anderson had Phil Black and later another reporter, both in Belgium, for further info about the attacks on the airport and subway station and the suspects. There was also another terrorist expert/reporter in Belgium but like the second reporter his name was never on-screen.

In the second segment a panel of Paul Cruickshank, Juliette Kayyem and Mike Rogers discussed the attack, the investigation and the connections to the November 2015 attacks in Paris.

For the first half of the next segment Anderson interviewed Brian Carroll, an American who was in the subway station close to the time of bombing. The second half was a clip of Obama commenting on Brussels and a Q&A with Jim Acosta. A few GOPers have criticized Obama for staying in Cuba (including going to a baseball game) instead of returning to Washington DC. Acosta said, with all the technology available, staying in Cuba "..is something he can do."

Nic Robertson reported on how other European countries have reacted and increased their security measures. Anderson talked to another terrorist expert named ? Miller.

At the end of the first hour there was a short segment on the memorial already up in a central plaza in Brussels. Phil Black answered Anderson's questions about the memorial and others about the attacks.
Throughout the hour a rectangle at the bottom of the screen had news on the primaries and/or caucuses taking place in Arizona, Idaho and Utah. Did anyone bother to read those? There was also a countdown clock for when the primaries/caucuses begin or end. Who would need that?

In 2012 the tower housing Big Ben was officially named Elizabeth Tower in honor of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee. She should be allowed to paint the tower purple if she wants to.

Anderson had a busy day. I wonder if he will head to Brussels or on vacation as he often takes vacation time around Easter.

While the terrorist attacks in Brussels were horrible today, I would like someone to answer why Brussels didn't shut down the subway after the airport was attacked. The Maalbeek Metro Station should have been on super high alert given that Maalbeek is a know terrorist haven and site of recent raids and the arrest of the last terrorist from the Paris attack on Friday. Once the airport was attacked it was an hour before the blast at the Metro Station. Seems to me like a lot of the deaths and injuries could have been avoided if the city had gone on lock down and the subway system shut down once he airport attack occurred. I feel horrible for the injured and the families of those killed but I would say their government/officials in Brussels let them down. Did they learn nothing from the Paris attacks?

HILLARY LOOKED VERY PRESIDENTIAL IN HER NEWS CONFERENCE ABOUT BRUSSELS. SHE ALSO USED WORDS THAT
TRUMP NEVER EVER HEARD OF, HE MAY HAVE TO GOOGLE THEM....LIKE CELL, NETWORK, INTERNATIONAL ALERT,
INSCRIPTION, CODE, AND THE LIST GOES ON.
YES, HILLARY MADE DONALD TRUMP LOOK LIKE THE RETARD HE IS, AND THIS IS JUST A TASTE OF WHAT THE PRESIDENCY WOULD LOOK LIKE UNDER SOMEONE SMART, ACCOMPLISHED AND CAPABLE. SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT HAVE TO "PRACTICE BEING PRESIDENTIAL."
UNFORTUNATELY, "THE DONALD" IS TOO STUPID TO REALIZE HIS DREAM OF THE PRESIDENCY IS WAY OVER HIS EMPTY SHELL OF A
HEAD. WE'LL JUST HAVE TO SHOW HIM COME NOVEMBER.
