Anderson Cooper of Tuesday, May 3, 2015

Anderson Cooper joined Wolf Blitzer in the Situation Room for the beginning of CNN's coverage of the Indiana Primary.

At 6pmET the coverage was titled Indiana Primary and the whole CNN election crew was on hand.  Anderson was in charge of the giant panels and the coverage continued through the 11pmET hour.

One member of that coverage, Jake Tapper, was the butt of a joke made by President Obama at the White House Correspondence Dinner:

Larry Wilmore poked fun at Don Lemon who flipped him off and Wolf Blitzer wasn't laughing when Larry accused him of never asking a follow up question, but that seemed to be it CNN mentions at Nerd Prom this year.

Thanks, ATA, for the clip from the WH Correspondanta Dinner. Obama remarking on people who have left the White House beat, "...Jake Tapper left journalism to join CNN." Biting but at least Tapper's show has less Rah-Rah-Trump coverage than some other CNN shows.

I didn't watch any TV this evening. Trump's win in the Indiana primary was a no-brainer (according to the polls) and the closer race in the state between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders wasn't going to get the same attention. Shortly before 8 pm (CST), my DH told me the big news, "Cruz dropped out." That probably pushed any Clinton/Sanders news right out the door. "Cruz dropped out." was all that needed to be said but I'm sure the horde of pundits and panelists had a field day.

On Wednesday's 360 I hope there's other news rather than just the political stuff. But not bad news of any sort... especially about Bob Dylan.

Aren't there enough Trump defenders on CNN's political panel as it is without AC joining in? It seemed he felt he had to jump in to counter every negative or critical comment about Trump made by one of the panelists and neither he or many of the other analysts had anything positive to say about Hillary Clinton--if you believe them, Hillary will be helpless and too weak and traditional to stand up to the unpredictable Trump onslaught. I think she can handle an idiotic, sexist, racist clown like Trump without breaking a sweat.

Glad to see President Obama some shots in on Jake Tapper and CNN in general. Tapper and the other anchors/reporters on CNN haven't always covered the president fairly during his time in office. Larry Wilmore was right about Don Lemon and Wolf Blitzer.

HUFPOST REPORTED, AS DID PAGE 6, THAT DON LEMON GAVE LARRY WILMORE "THE BIRD" AT THE DINNER.
AND HE WAS PROUD OF IT. NOW WHEN DID ANY ANCHOR, IN THE HISTORY OF A TELEVISED CEREMONY, WITH
THE POTUS SITTING RIGHT THERE, DARE TO GIVE THE SPEAKER AT THE CORRESPONDENTS DINNER, "THE FINGER?" YES, HE WAS JOKING BUT YOU CAN BET, HE'S NOT GOING TO DO IT, IF TRUMP IS AT THE PODIUM.
AND SPEAKING OF IRREVERENCE, OUR ANDERSON SEEMED TO HAVE AN IRREVERENT ATTITUDE TOWARD THE
FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE. NOT ONLY WASN'T HE DRESSED FOR THE OCCASION, HE LOOKED AND ACTED
AS THOUGH, HE'D RATHER BE ANY PLACE ELSE, BUT WITH HILLARY CLINTON.
WOLF BLITZER, ON THE OTHER HAND, WAS INTERVIEWING TRUMP, AND THE TONE WAS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT.
YOU'D THINK HE WAS IN DUBAI INTERVIEWING A SAUDI ARABIAN KING. IF HE HAD BEEN A CAT, HE WOULD
HAVE BEEN PURRRING SO LOUDLY WE'D HEAR IT THROUGH OUR FLAT SCREENS.
YES, THE MEDIA WAS COMPLICIT IN THE RISE OF DONALD TRUMP. THIS AFTERNOON DANA BASH WAS SAYING THAT TRUMP SUPPORTERS WERE JUST MORE LOYAL THAN ANY OF THE OTHER VOTERS.
AND CNN WAS JUST MORE LOYAL TO TRUMP THAN ANY OF THE OTHER CANDIDATES AND IS NO LONGER A NETWORK THAT DELIVERS THE NEWS. IT IS A NETWORK THAT MANIPULATES THE NEWS AND DANA BASH, WOLF BLITZER AND ANDERSON COOPER ARE ALL COMPLICIT IN THAT MANIPULATION. I HOPE THEY'RE HAPPY

anon 11:17, I noticed Anderson's disinterested, dismissive demeanor with Hillary Clinton--I'll admit I can be a little paranoid when it comes how the press treats President Obama, the Clintons and liberals in general, but there was no mistaking Anderson's irreverent attitude with Hillary Clinton as you say. There are a lot of reporters out there who dislike Hillary and Bill Clinton and President Obama and it shows up in how they tend to be tough on the experienced, capable Clinton while giving the dangerous, know-nothing, policy and fact free Trump a pass. YES, they will all be complicit if the unthinkable happens and he becomes POTUS.
