Anderson Cooper 360 on Thursday, June 2, 2016 & Guest Co-Host on Live with Kelly

Anderson Cooper anchored an expanded two hour edition of AC360 from the NYC studio.  Earlier in the day he was back in the guest co-host chair on Live with Kelly.  She below.

Anderson was in the news regarding his co-hosting of Live with Kelly yesterday and his alleged desire to fill the seat full time according to ET. online:

EXCLUSIVE: Anderson Cooper Wants to Co-Host 'Live! With Kelly,' But Executives Are 'Hesitant' to Move Forward
by Antoinette Bueno 2:01 PM PDT, June 01, 2016

Anderson Cooper is definitely interested in being Kelly Ripa's co-host on Live!, but both ABC and CNN are "hesitant," sources tell ET.

Cooper has made it clear to executives that he would like to do both Live! and his nightly CNN show, Anderson Cooper 360, if offered the chance, our sources say. The 48-year-old CNN anchor was eyed as a frontrunner to replace Michael Strahan on the longrunning morning show almost immediately after Strahan first announced his exit in April.

However, a deal is complicated given this year's presidential elections, and Cooper's big role in covering politics for CNN.

CNN will be "all in" for the 2016 election and doesn't want its main talent to have its loyalties split, sources tell ET, though the network's executives aren't ruling out Cooper's wishes.

Cooper also needs to win over the ABC bosses, who aren't totally sold on the news anchor just yet, according to our sources. While producers recognize Ripa and Cooper's "natural chemistry," there is concern over his failed daytime talk show, Anderson, which was canceled after two seasons in 2013.

"There are others they have their eye on," one source says.

However, one person we do know who isn't interested is former View co-host Sherri Shepherd. Although a report claimed ABC is eyeing Shepherd for the high-profile gig, a source close to the 49-year-old comedian tells ET this is "not true at all."

"Sherri has maintained all along that she is pulling for T.J. Holmes from Good Morning America to get the gig," the source says. "She thinks he's fantastic."

Cooper addressed all the Live! rumors in April, during his appearance on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live!

"Look, I'm very happy at CNN," Cooper answered cautiously when a caller brought up the reports. "It would be a dream to work with Kelly, but nobody's offering anything."

And it looks like even other potential Live! co-hosts are aware of Cooper's frontrunner status. Last month, a source exclusively told ET that ABC was in talks with Rob Lowe for the gig, but Lowe told us he didn't want to compete against the popular CNN anchor when we recently caught up with the 52-year-old actor on the set of his upcoming film, How to Be a Latin Lover.

"Listen, man, I don't want to go up against Anderson Cooper," Lowe joked. "I don't know if I'm going to go back as an actual guest host [on Live!] yet. ... You never know! You never know."

Still, the former Grinder star didn't completely rule the job out.

"I hosted it with Kelly and had the time of my life," he commented on his previous Live! co-hosting experiences. "I love her ... I love being able to talk to an audience every morning like that and just being fun, counter-punching, being silly, and talking about cool stuff."

And there was a "report card" on his hosting duties on Entertainment Tonight Wednesday night:

On one level, Hillary Clinton started Thursday's 360. On another level, it was only because she was blasting Trump. Clinton made a foreign policy speech effectively criticizing Trump for his lack of foreign policy knowledge, skill or facts. After a montage of clips from that speech, Anderson talked to Brianna Keller. The panel here was Peter Mansoor, David Axelrod, Mike Rogers and Stephen Miller (the panel's Trump parrot). Although I like to see panels no more than three people, I was glad this was only four and counted the questions given to them. Mansoor had 3, Axelrod 2, Rogers 1 and Miller 2.5 (the .5 because Anderson had to repeat a question on whether Trump reads up on Iraq & Syria and Miller didn't answer the first time around).

Anderson also repeated Trump's rebuttal tweet about Hillary's speech (already shown in the first segment) and talked to Jim Sciutto regarding Trump's foreign policy positions. Then there was a new panel - David Gergen, Marc Lamont Hill, Kaleigh McEnany (Trump parrot), Tara Setmeyer and Joseph Borelli (Trump parrot). Only five but still too many. I was mildly amazed when Anderson said somewhere in the middle of the discussion, '...when you have 16 candidates there's not enough time to go into detail but when it's just two candidates on stage you need to go into detail'. Gee, kind of like when there's 7 pundits on stage compare to 2 or 3? Over on MSNBC, Hayes' sub was at that time also discussing Hillary's speech but with only two pundits and yes, they went into more detail.

Rose Labatt had a report on the history of Hillary Clinton's foreign policy experience which included Libya, the death of Ambassador Stevens, Syria / Assad, ISIS, Russia / Ukraine and her vote for the Iraq War in 2002. Switching gears, Anderson had a Q&A with Jim Acosta about Trump's attack on Judge Curiel, saying Curiel has a conflict of interest and should not preside over the Trump U case because of his Mexican heritage. When the panel came back I changed the channel; simply did not want to hear the Trump parrots weasel defense of Trump's newest idiocy.

A reporter in California reported on the protests outside Trump's rally and then it was back to the panel for more on Trump and Curiel.

Before one commercial break (second or third), Anderson teased future coverage of Prince's autopsy results and news on the UCLA murder/suicide. At :58 into the first hour, Prince's autopsy (fentanyl toxicity) was covered but nothing on UCLA. Instead of the scheduled "The Eighties", 360 had a second hour. The on-screen title at the start was "Awaiting Trump's Speech..." Nope. Maddow instead.

Anderson doing both 360 and the Kelly show? I hope not. When Anderson had the daytime show there weren't enough hours in a day to devote an adequate amount of time to both and both shows suffered for it.

If Trump had any shame or humility, he'd drop out of the race and never show his face in public again--Hillary Clinton ripped Trump to shreds--her speech was brilliant and devastating. How can Trump's surrogates continue to defend him? They look like utter fools. Everything Hillary Clinton laid out in her speech about Trump was true--Trump is a threat to everything we are as a country. Poor K-Lee was reduced to mindless babbling (nothing new) when it seemed the entire political panel joined forces to dispute her ludicrous arguments and deride her relentless, nonsensical defense of Trump--it was riveting to watch.

Paul Ryan, like many others in the GOP, is weak, ineffective and unprincipled. Trump owns the GOP now and they will be tied to everything he says and does and I hope they pay dearly for it in November.

Why isn't msm covering the vicious attacks by violent protestors? Pne giy was cut by a razor, women are being attacked... police being hit with bottles. If trump supporters were doing this, it would be lead story! The bias is unreal on Msm... say what you want, Trump supporters should not be attacked, beaten, cut they were they are and media certainly needs to point out many are Clinton, Sanders supporters. Many people are saying, "make mexico great again" this is npt being covered purposely by CNN, Msnbc, broadcast networks... real and fair media is dead... I stopped watching it all. I'm just pointing out the contradictions now by media and liberal and conservative viewers. Not a peep on the violence and unlawfullness. Its disgusting. Its not Trumps people. It is illegals, liberals doing the attacking.

ANA NAVARRO DESERVES AN A+++++ FOR GOING AFTER TRUMP'S REMARK ABOUT THE MEXICAN JUDGE.
SHE SAID SHE CAN'T KEEP SILENT ANY MORE WHILE TRUMP DEGRADES LATINOS AGAIN AND AGAIN.
WHAT MADE HER RHETORIC DIFFERENT THIS TIME WAS HER ANGER, AND I SAY MORE POWER TO HER AND
EVERY LATINO SHOULD BE DENOUNCING TRUMP IN THE SAME EXACT MANNER SHE DID.
LIKE SHE SAID: "ENOUGH, OF HIS RACISTS REMARKS ABOUT ETHNICITY. HE IS NOT FIT TO BE A CANDIDATE FOR ANY PUBLIC OFFICE. NO LESS THE PRESIDENCY.
