Obviously the terrorist attack on the Istanbul Airport was the big news and more information was coming in as Anderson broadcast.

Anderson started with an overview just as new numbers came in: 3 suicide bombers, 36 dead and 147 wounded. He talked to Clarissa Ward, witness Will Carter and photojournalist Doran standing right outside the airport entrance. The panel of Juliette Kayyem, Robert Baer and Michael Weiss analyzed. This was a long 20+ minute first segment.

The second segment was also exceptionally long. Anderson started with a Q&A with Pamela Brown concerning ISIS involvement. His Skype interview with witness Lawrence Cameron came in badly and after Cameron didn't hear the second question was dropped altogether. Next Elise Labott reported on State Dept warning about travel to Turkey. Dan Watson reported on security at the Istanbul Airport. Tom Foreman at the Magic Wall had details on the layout of the airport grounds and terminal. The panel of Kayyem, Baer and Weiss came back with the addition of Ward.

Anderson looked further at one of the videos from the airport and interviewed another witness, Richard Kalnins, who had just arrived at the airport when the bombings started. Next Sara Murray reported on Trump's statement on the Istanbul airport bombings and then Jeff Zeleny on Hillary Clinton's statement.

Instead of the scheduled CNN special on drug lord El Chapo, 360 went into a second hour.

Hayes and Maddow, even though they had only one hour each, covered the Istanbul Airport bombings well but also made time for the new report from the House Benghazi Committee that pretty much said Hillary wasn't at fault. The report was big news and I wish Anderson had a segment, even a short one, devoted to covering this news in depth. Maddow found the time not only to cover the Benghazi report but also interview Rep. Elijah Cummings about it.

CNN's counterterrorism analyst Phillip Mudd got to the heart of the matter and said that no one really knows what to do about Syria and as long as that doesn't change, more terrorist attacks will happen.

The close of the Benghazi investigation only got a brief report near the end of the second hour and it seemed to be focused on how 'noble' the GOP's efforts were to get to the bottom of it all, but Hillary Clinton was found to have done nothing wrong and nothing critical was really uncovered that wasn't already known. The GOP wanted to smear President Obama and Hillary Clinton and possibly swing the election towards them but it didn't work--it's the sort of thing that AC and Drew Griffin are usually up in arms about--the government wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on useless endeavours. Shouldn't there be a Drew Griffin/AC360 investigation on that? :/

WHY ARIES MOON, "NO ONE KNOWS WHAT TO DO ABOUT SYRIA," FROM A TERRORISM EXPERT?
SURELY, DONALD J.DUCK KNOWS WHAT TO DO. HE'S GOING TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN AND 'MAYBE TURKEY'IF HE CAN FIND IT ON A MAP.
CAN'T WAIT FOR THE THREE DEBATES WITH HILLARY. I WANT TO SEE HER "EAT HIM ALIVE."
MEAN TIME DONALD J. DUCK CAN INVEST IN A NEW GOLF COURSE BUT THIS TIME HE KNOWS HOW TO GET
LAND REALLY CHEAP AND NAME THE COURSE, TRUMP SYRIA, AND THEN HE CAN TWEET ABOUT WHAT A GREAT
INVESTMENT HE'S MADE. HOW GENIUS IS THAT??

@anon 7:18, regarding a Hillary/Trump debate, some are thinking that he's going to try to find some way to get out of debating her because he knows he'll be decimated. I'm sure the press will find some way to explain it away as no big deal even though it might be the first time a candidate backed out of a presidential debate.
