Anderson Cooper 360 on Friday, August 5, 2016

Anderson Cooper was again MIA and John Berman was in the anchor chair for AC360.  Earlier in the week, during host chat on Live with Kelly, Anderson talked about getting a haircut while he was in Philadelphia at the Democratic National Convention.  Here are a few photos that appeared on Instagram from his visit to the Giovanni & Pileggi Salon.

Even though I mostly watched the opening of the Rio Olympics, I checked out 360 during NBC's commercial breaks. 360 was not worth checking out for the first half hour. They were broadcasting Trump's speech. The on-screen title said Trump's expected endorsement of Paul Ryan would be in the speech. So what? Have John Berman report the other news of the day and later, after Trump makes his endorsement (or two, he also endorsed John McCain), have the clip. There's absolutely no need to broadcast the entire speech.

At :11 into the hour it was Trump. At the same time Hayes was interviewing Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) but at :14 after MSNBC started airing Trump's speech.
At :24, after watching a soulful, graceful and a little spacey homage to the Amazon Rain Forest in the Olympics, I turned to 360 and there was crass rotten pumpkin Trump.
At :32 Trump was still talking but a panel had started. However, Trump was still in the big box on the screen although he had no audio and the person speaking was regulated to a much smaller box on the side. I finally found out John Berman was anchoring. Of the four-person panel I didn't recognize anyone.
At :41 the on-screen title was "Clinton Clarifies (Muddies?) Email Claim. Berman had a Q&A with a reporter then started the panel again.
At :54 it was a report on intelligence briefings for Hillary and Trump.

Nice photos of Anderson and women from the Philadelphia hair salon. I'm surprised he went to a new place for a haircut; I had the idea that anyone who works in television would have a personal barber or hairstylist, someone they go to all the time for every haircut. Nonetheless, it's a good haircut.

BECAUSE I AM SICK OF HEARING TRUMP DESCRIBED AS AM "BUSINESS MOGUL" I AM GOING TO REFER TO
HIM AS "PRESIDENT JACK ASS." I KNOW IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE BUT THAN NEITHER IS HE, SO THE NAME
IS JUST CLASSIC, ESPECIALLY WHEN HE REALIZES HE'S NOT PRESIDENT, AND MAY NEVER BE.
THE JACK ASS IS ON MESSAGE BECAUSE THE ONLY THING THAT SEEMS TO PENETRATE, ARE HIS NUMBERS
AND THEY ARE SINKING, HOPEFULLY THEY WILL SINK FURTHER.
VIRGINIA IS A GOOD SIGN, AND HILLARY WAS SMART FOR PICKING A VP FROM THE FORMER "LAND OF COTTON." AT LEAST VIRGINIA ISN'T STILL FLYING THE CONFEDERATE FLAG.
HOW DARE HE CALL HILLARY, "UNHINGED." HAS THE JACK ASS ANY IDEA WHAT HAS ACTUALLY COME OUT OF HIS
TRASHY MOUTH THESE PAST FEW MONTHS??
NO REASONABLE PERSON WILL BELIEVE THAT.
HOWEVER, THE CATCH WORD IS "REASONABLE"AND THERE ARE TRUMP SUPPORTERS WHO ARE SO ILLITERATE AND DETACHED, THAT THEY ARE WILLING TO BELIEVE WHATEVER.
BILL MAHER SAID IT BEST, IN HIS LAST SHOW OF SEASON: "IT ISN'T TRUMP WHO IS THE PROBLEM, IT IS HIS SUPPORTERS, RACIST, BIAS AND ANGRY, AND LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO BLAME OTHER THAN THEMSELVES."

ACCORDING TO GAIL COLLIN'S OP ED PIECE IN THE NEW YORK TIMES, TRUMP WAS RECENTLY OUTRAGED, WHEN HE WAS CRITICIZED FOR MAKING FUN OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, RETORTING IN HIS OWN DEFENSE, "THAT HE HAS SPENT MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BUILDING RAMPS FOR THE HANDICAPPED IN HIS BUILDINGS."
NOW MS.COLLINS WAS ADMITTEDLY JOKING, BUT IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, IT IS A TRAGEDY WHEN THE CANDIDATE FOR THE PRESIDENCY DOESN'T REALIZE THAT THE ONLY REASON HE COMPLIED WITH THE BUILDING OF ANY RAMP, IS BECAUSE IT IS MANDATED, BIG WORD FOR DONALD, "BY FEDERAL LAW." SOMETHING DONALD J. TRUMP KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT, AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHY HIS VERY CAMPAIGN IS SO DISHEARTENING. HE IS BEYOND UNQUALIFIED.
IRREGARDLESS OF HIS STANCES ON PERSONAL ISSUES SUCH AS RACE, IT IS HIS IGNORANCE THAT IS SO
APPALLING. HAD IT BEEN ANYONE ELSE, YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT SURELY, "YOU ARE MAKING THIS STUFF UP." AND YET IT IS ONLY ONE EXAMPLE OF THE CANDIDATES' UTTER STUPIDITY, AND THE STUPIDITY OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY FOR NOT DISALLOWING TRUMP TO GO FURTHER IN HIS FUTILE ATTEMPT TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LAND.
