Anderson Cooper 360 on Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Anderson Cooper anchored AC360 ahead of the CNN Green Party Town Hall.  Anderson included the exchange between Brianna Keilar and Trump Attorney Michael Cohen from The Situation Room in his introduction to the hour.  Anderson loved the exchange so much he played it again later in the hour.

I'm liking Anderson's new glasses. They're sort of retro and makes me think of Edward R. Murrow and the movie "Good Night and Good Luck." During Wednesday's 360, if I wasn't thinking about movies, I was switching to Hayes' sub or football because most of 360's content didn't interest me that much.

The start was about the Trump "campaign shake-up." Ho-hum. He's done this a few times before and could do it again before Election Day. However, it's worth noting that one of the new campaign big-wigs is Stephen Bannon from Breitbart media and he has absolutely no campaign experience. The other new names for Trump are Kellyanne Conway, Roger Stone and Roger Ailes.
Anderson was doing the show from the location of the 9 pm Green Party Town Hall. Maybe that's why there were only four on the panel - David Challian, Andre Bauer, Angela Rye and Brian Stelter.
Anderson replayed the clip of Michael Cohen, Trump parrot, on an earlier CNN show. When Brianna Keller asked Cohen about Trump being down in the polls, Cohen replied, "Says who?"
So part of the panel discussion was on Cohen's and maybe Trump's disconnect from reality. Bauer, this panel's Trump parrot, said the polls could come back.
Before the commercial break Anderson said the panel would be back and would discuss why, if Trump keeps insisting he hires only the best people, there have been so many campaign shake-ups.

However, the second segment started with Gary Tuchman's report profiling Stephen Bannon. I changed the channel. When I came back the panel was in swing and I must have missed Anderson asking about Trump's "best people" claim. The part that I saw was the usual Turmp yada.

Joe Johns had a report on Hillary Clinton's campaign, her attacks on Trump, a Clinton Foundation controversy involving land in Nigeria and "Friends don't let friends vote for Trump."

The next segment was all about Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte's robbery story being questioned. I didn't watch.

The last panel started with Tom Foreman's report on Green Party candidate for President Jill Stein. I went back to football.

I hope the 360 producers, having some time off due to the Green Party Town Hall, used that time to watch Maddow. She threw some excellent shade on the letter from Trump's doctor ('healthiest person to run for President'). Maybe Drew Griffin could investigate that doctor?

PERSONALLY, I LOVED THE EXCHANGE AND BRIANNA KEILAR DESERVES AN AWARD BECAUSE SHE DID WHAT
EVERY CNN ANCHOR SHOULD BE DOING: QUESTIONING THE TRANSPARENCY OF THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN AND TRUMP'S SUPPORTERS, LIKE THIS PHONY ATTORNEY WHO PRACTICALLY SPIT THE WORDS OUT OF HIS MOUTH, LIKE HE WAS SOME TEAMSTER READY TO DO BATTLE. NOT A VERY GOOD ROLE MODEL FOR TEAM TRUMP.
I'D SAY AS LONG AS THEY ARE 'EXPANDING', THEY MIGHT EXPAND AND TAKE THIS GUY WITH THEM.
MICHAEL COHEN'S DAYS OF REPRESENTING ANYTHING TRUMP HAVE JUST ABOUT ENDED.
THANK YOU BRIANNA.

Trump surrounds himself with some of the worst characters anyone could ever encounter--blatant liars, thugs, bullies, criminals, racists and sexists--he doesn't have a single surrogate who has any credibility and now his campaign will be run by the hateful nuts at Breitbart--unless he knows something the rest of us don't, he's going to lose big in November and possibly bring down the entire GOP with him--not a bad thing. Brianna Keilar was great against the nasty Michael Cohen, she stayed polite as she hit him with the devastating facts about Trump's poor poll numbers. Brian Stelter was on Wednesday's panel--he's become a favorite of mine on CNN because he regularly calls out the questionable campaign tactics of Trump in a way that you don't see on other CNN programs and he admonishes journalists who allow Trump or his surrogates to blatantly lie or misrepresent facts (on Tuesday AC allowed a Trumpie to claim that African-American unemployment under President Obama is in double digits when it's currently at 8%). Journalists have to remain neutral and objective but Trump's such a danger and a menace, it's important that he's challenged and kept in check by reporters as much as possible.

Last week while on vacation in Brazil, Anderson posted an adorable clip of his French nephew Martin running towards him. It got picked up by various outlets because it was such a cute moment for AC to share with the world. I'm surprised it wasn't posted here, so I thought I would bring this to ATA's attention in case they somehow missed it.

YES, TRUMP IS A DANGER AND JOURNALISTS LIKE ANDERSON, SHOULD FACT CHECK EVERYTHING BRAINLESS

AND THE AFRO AMERICAN EXPERIENCE AND WHAT TRUMP "REALLY MEANT."
MR SELLERS SAID,"IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED I'M BLACK, AND TRUMP CANNOT RELATE TO THE AFRO-
AMERICAN EXPERIENCE AND NEITHER CAN YOU!" GOOD SHOT AT BLONDE AMBITION WITH THAT FAKE SMIRK.
I COULDN'T WATCH MORE THAN 2 MINUTES, TOPS OF TRUMP ON MESSAGE. HE'S BEEN OFF MESSAGE SO MUCH
