Anderson Cooper 360 on Monday, October 17, 2016

Anderson Cooper anchored an expanded two hour edition of AC360 from the NYC studio.  The first half hour was taken up with Anderson's taped interview with Melania Trump.   (Yes, he went to her penthouse and they sat on gold chairs.)  Most of the rest of the two hours was taken up on political segments with the exception of  a Nick Paton Walsh segment on the battle to retake Mosul from ISIL at the end of the second hour.

Anderson was on with Wolf Blitzer to promote his interview:

And from Social Media:

Not sure if Anderson saw this or what he thought, but we found it interesting:

I didn't watch Monday's 360 ("Gotham", Maddow and football) but here I am anyway. Earlier on CNN there were promos for Anderson's interview with Melania Trump. Was the interview because the Trump campaign wanted Melania to cheerleader in front of the camera and "rah rah" Trump among all the sexual assault accusations? Did Anderson and/or Zucker want the interview to "balance out" the Jessica Leeds and Kristen Anderson interviews?

Lawrence O'Donnell started his show with Anderson's interview of Melania. He didn't like it.
There were clips of Melania's lame excuse of Trump's behavior on the bus as "boy talk" and her comment that women shouldn't accuse men of sexual assault "without evidence". O'Donnell pointed out that testimony IS evidence and most sexual assaults take place without witnesses.
A couple months ago, O'Donnell said, there was a big news story about Melania possibly entering the country illegally and possibly working here illegally. At that time Trump said in a speech that "in a couple of weeks" Melania would have a press conference. And then other stuff happened and/or Trump said something stupid and the media forgot all about immigrant Melania. If Anderson had asked Melania questions about her past immigration, O'Donnell didn't have a clip.
Wrapping up he said it was "a softball interview". I can understand Anderson not asking about Trump's tax policy ideas or what the capital of Illinois is (Springfield) but were there any good questions, follow-up questions or even "gotcha" questions? Was it a few easy questions about the "pussy" comment and sexual assault accusations and then smooth sailing from there? After the "boy talk" excuse did Anderson ask "Is your husband a boy or a 70-year-old man?" or "Would you allow your 10-year-son to talk like that?

Elsewhere on the worldwide web, the hashtag #BillyBushMadeMeDoIt is trending. O'Donnell didn't have a clip of Melania stating Trump said those things because he was "egged on" by Billy Bush but it's elsewhere on the internet. With those articles are comment like 'if Billy Bush can egg on Trump, how about Kim Jong Un? Putin? Bashir Assad?'

The first picture of Melania and Anderson in today's post is disturbing. Anderson looks fine. Melania does not. Bad plastic surgery? Her eyes used to look more normal and I don't know what is going on with her mouth but it's definiltely not s smile.

Somewhere else on the worldwide web is YouTube. I saw a video today "CNN Has A Trump Surrogate Problem" made by MediaMatters4America which might be just one hipster media critic. However he articulated exactly my thoughts about why the Trump parrots shouldn't be listened to and justified my viewing absence from all of the panels. It's about 4 or 5 minutes long and a few days old. And if this isn't the place to advertise YouTube videos...#BillyBushMadeMeDoIt.

Didn't want to watch AC's interview with Melania because if she agreed to do it, that means she would not be challenged by Anderson. AC was fawning all over Melania during the panel discussion--she deserves no praise for staying with her disgusting orange racist, sexist, immature clown of a husband. Anderson is getting slammed on Twitter for doing a softball interview with Melania--quite a contrast from the accolades he received for asking the question of the night during the last debate that prompted some of the women who Trump sexually abused to come forward. Trump can't be fixed--Melania, Kelly Anne & all the surrogates are wasting time--as soon as they think they've stomped out another controversy, the orange clown does something heinous again that has to be explained away, he's unhinged and can't help himself. Seems to me that AC and CNN are in clean-up mode for the Trump campaign and going full throttle on Hillary's email 'problem'. Anderson seemed disappointed that Trump's nasty behavior took the attention off of the HRC/DNC email leaks--but why isn't he or much of the media MORE concerned that Wikileaks is targeting ONLY Hillary and Democrats? Highly suspicious.

@Jaanza, that Media Matters CNN/Trump video is spot on--I watched it recently and it speaks the sad truth about CNN and the horrific Trump surrogates--it's shameful how CNN is allowing these Trump shills to spew out lies and nonsense.

VERY STRANGE THAT THEY ARE SITTING ON GOLD CHAIRS, ACTUAL CHAIRS MADE OUT OF GOLD.
ON THE APPRENTICE, WHEN WE ALL THOUGHT TRUMP WAS SANE, HE ALLOWED FOOTAGE OF THE FAMILY
QUARTERS AND HE POINTED TO THE ARTIFACTS MADE OUT OF 14K/GOLD.
AT THE TIME, I THOUGHT IT WAS A BIT MUCH, BUT IT WAS ENTERTAINMENT. I REMEMBER THINKING THAT
IT WAS GAUDY AND PRETENTIOUS, AND VERY "ENTITLED."
NOW WHAT DOES THE COAL MINER IN WEST VIRGINIA HAVE IN COMMON WITH THIS EGO-MANIAC?
