Anderson Cooper 360 on Tuesday, October 11, 2016

Anderson Cooper anchored an expanded two hour edition of AC360 from the NYC studio.  During the second hour Anderson interviewed Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway.  (It ran a little long so we had to break it into two parts, but we feel it's worth a listen.)

KELLYANNE DOESN'T LIVE IN REALITY EITHER. SHE GOES AFTER HILLARY'S POLL NUMBERS THAT AT 46%.
SHE SAYS SHE HAS ALL THESE ADVANTAGES, AND SHE'S STILL NOT WHERE SHE HAS TO BE TO WIN.
WHAT KELLYANNE DOESN'T SAY IS SHE WISHES HER CANDIDATE WERE THE ONE WITH HILLARY'S POLL NUMBERS.
SHE SAYS TRUMP DOESN'T WANT PEOPLE WHO ARE "WISHY WASHY" WITH HIM ONE DAY, AND NOT THE NEXT.
DOESN'T THAT SOUND LIKE DOANLD TRUMP.....YES, I THOUGHT THAT THEN, BUT NOW I THINK THIS.
HYPOCRITES, THE BOTH OF THEM!!

Tuesday's 360, the first hour of it, was all politics. Anderson started with Trump vs. the GOP and a clip of Obama, in a campaign speech for Hillary, dissing the GOPers who denounce Trump's words but not Trump. Jim Acosta's report had details on House Speaker and Rep. Paul Ryan saying he will no longer defend Trump, Trump tearing into him for that and comments from Gov. Christie, Ben Carson and Rudy Giuliani. Manu Raju had a report on GOPers running away from Trump, denouncing him and Trump's effect on down-ballot races. Anderson interviewed Monica Langley from the Wall Street Journal about all of this. She's a new face for 360 and made many good smart comments. Throughout the first hour one of the re-occuring on-screen titles was "Trump Speaking Soon At Florida Rally" and I kept hoping CNN wouldn't broadcast it... and they didn't, at least not in 360's first hour.

John King's "By The Numbers" segment still has Hillary leading in the national poll. King also covered the Florida poll numbers and various possibilities in the electoral college map that would allow Trump to win. When the panel of 6 started I left.

After a brief clip of Al Gore campaigning for Hillary it was Drew Griffin's report on Hillary's emails. Griffin talked about Trump's allegation of collusion with Obama's White House, Hill's Wall Street friendships, her comments on trade and her campaign blaming the DNC computer hacking on Russia and, indirectly, Trump.

Anderson repeated the kerfuffle between Ryan and Trump and Trump's claim that "hundreds of congressmen" think Ryan is wrong. Langley started the panel with a good comment on the situation and how Trump could use his base against Ryan. When McEnany began babbling I changed the channel.

The last segment of the first hour started with another clip from Obama's speech; he was emphasizing how wrong Trump's "pussy" remarks were. Randi Kaye had another report focusing on a group of voters, this time it was a group of Texan women. I quickly checked out what Hayes was covering and stayed there because he was covering down-ballot races and what the future of the House and Senate might be. 360 seldom mentions this topic and I don't remember a full report in ages.

I didn't watch the second hour but watched the videos of Anderson's interview with Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway here on ATA. Thanks ATA for posting it. Anderson a few times asked such good questions that Conway for several seconds after each of them could not speak and then fumbled for a plausible spin, a way to change the topic or avoid the question altogether. Conway looked more stressed than usual and the verbal fumbles were unusual. But is that typical of Trump parrots since "pussy"?

I liked AC's interrogation of Kelly Anne Conway--she's a slick talker but he tripped her up several times during the interview--what does it matter if she claims to be offended by Trump's sexual predator bragging--she still is choosing to work to put him in the White House, same as the rest of the GOP who back him--they're all repulsive and immoral--they have no conscience--all they want is to WIN at any cost even though they MUST know Trump is a toxic menace and a real threat to this country and the world. And what IS up with him treating Ivanka like a girlfriend? The man is sick in the head.

SO OTHER WOMEN ARE NOW GOING AFTER THE BIMBO BECAUSE HE THOUGHT THAT HE COULD GET EVEN WITH
THE CLINTON'S BY EXPOSING BILL'S AFFAIRS. THINK AGAIN EINSTEIN. YOU WANTED TO FILE LAW SUITS.
WELL YOUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED.
INTERESTING ARTICLE IN WAPO BY RALPH NADER, YES THAT RALPH NADER, AND HE'S STILL WEARING THE
SAME GREY SUIT FROM YEARS AGO. HE SEEMS TO THINK IF GFB, " THE ASS HOLE," DOES GET INTO THE WHITE HOUSE, HE'D BE IMPEACHED. THERE ARE JUST SO MANY THINGS HE DOESN'T KNOW THAT HE'D HANG HIMSELF WITHIN WEEKS. (UNFORTUNATELY, NOT LITERALLY)
