WHY DIDN'T PRESIDENT OBAMA GO AFTER THE HACKING SITUATION WEEKS BEFORE AND AFTER THE ELECTION?
THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEALT WITH LONG BEFORE TRUMP TAKES THE OATH OF OFFICE. IT WAS KNOWN
BEFORE THE ELECTION AS WELL AS AFTER THE ELECTION, EVEN THOUGH TRUMP HAS TWEETED, WRONGLY, THAT IT
ALL BECAME PUBLIC AFTER HILLARY LOST.
AND IF THE PRESIDENT ELECT LIES TO THE PUBLIC BEFORE HE TAKES THE OATH OF OFFICE, ISN'T IT FAIR TO
SAY THAT HE WILL DO EXACTLY THE SAME THING AFTER? IF YOU CAN'T TRUST THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED
STATES, WHO CAN YOU TRUST?
RICHARD NIXON WAS SHADY, BUT HE DID KNOW FOREIGN DIPLOMACY AND MOST OF THE TIME, EXCEPT WHEN HE WAS
CAUGHT, THE PUBLIC BELIEVED HIM.....UNTIL WATERGATE AND THEN HE WAS IMPEACHED.
BUT NEVER IN OUR HISTORY AS A NATION, DID WE START OUT WITH SOMEONE SO DISHONEST AND UNTRUSTWORTHY
AS THE CURRENT PRESIDENT ELECT, AND EVERY DAY THERE IS A NEW REVELATION.
THE NEXT FOUR YEARS ARE JUST UNIMAGINABLE IN EVERY RESPECT.

I was five minutes late to Thursday's show; got there and saw Anderson talking to Van Jones and a woman with glasses. The topic was Russian hacking and the chyrons stated it's still happening and Trump is unconcerned. When the camera shot changed I saw that it was actually a panel of 5 and when Kaleigh McEnany started talking I switched to Hayes. When I got back later the panel was still going on but now discussing Ivanka in the White House.

The second segment started with Obama's statement on taking some kind of action on the Russian hacking and a clip of Sen. Lindsey Graham on the same subject. Anderson interviewed former Rep. Nick Kingston (R-GA). Kingston was a new face for 360 (as far as I could tell) and so I decided to stay. Kingston's position can be boiled down to: hacking shmaking, we have business ties with Russia, it's important to have a good relationship, sanctions shmactions, let's keep our business relationship and make dollars and rubles for both of us. Now imagine all of that in the smarmiest used-car salesman voice you can imagine. Anderson had a Q&A with Jim Sciutto for more details on the possibility of sanctions and/or cyberspace retaliation. Then it was the same panel so Ieft.

I missed the start of Obama's long statement from NPR about the Russian hacking and Anderson's talk with former CIA Director James Woolsey and retired Lt. Gen. Mark Herting for analysis of the Russian hacking. This was probably the smartest segment of the first hour.

Second best segment was Martin Savidge's look at mining and "West Virginia County Bets Heavily On Trump". Call it a hunch but I don't think the Trump Presidency is going to be all that great for those folks in West Virginia.

Vanity Fair Magazine has a new article titled "Trump Grill Could Be the Worst Restaurant in America" and Trump is throwing a hissy fit on Twitter about it. Randi Kaye had a fun report on Trump tweeting insults to VF Editor Graydon Carter, several of the best lines from the article and a history of how long and how much Trump and Carter don't like each other.
Anderson previewed the start of the second hour: Obama's statement on the Russian hacking.

I'm mad at myself for missing the first five minutes. Of course that was when Anderson covered the conviction of Dylan Roof, the shenanigans of the Republicans in the NC state legislature trying to strip the Governor's office of a lot of power before the new Democratic Governor takes office, the news of the Texas "abortion burial" law being struck down and a recap of Aleppo. All of that was in the first five minutes and I missed it.

P.S. I'm not irritated with all of the time covering the Russian hacking; this topic deserves to be closely looked at. But I wish there was only one panel discussion and the Trump vs. VF's Carter was moved into the second hour so more serious news could be in the first hour.

Anderson and Van Jones think that Trump voters simply needed to be listened to and heard by Democrats instead of being 'demonized' by them and they think this is why Hillary Clinton's platform didn't resonate with those voters. Hillary was right to call out the Trump voters who were attracted to his message of hate and division and perhaps the voters who claim to not be racist and just want to be 'heard' should've done some listening themselves because Hillary clearly laid out who those Trump voters were being victimized by and it certainly wasn't Democrats. When did the Republicans ever do anything to spur job growth during the Obama years? When did they ever try to cooperate with him on getting a jobs bill or a job creating infrastructure bill passed? No, they blocked EVERYTHING. I'm really sick of hearing about the so-called misunderstood Trump voters--maybe they need to pay closer attention to the rotten people Trump is filling his cabinet with--those people will ensure that those working class Trumpies will be even worse off than they think they are now and if they continue to vote against their own interests, it's due to their own ignorance and nothing more. BTW, the average Trump voter earns 70k/year so how exactly are they really hurting?

Van Jones and Paul Begala jumping on the Trump/Russia hacking apologists on the panel was a good moment on the show.

I forgot to mention that the Wall Street Journal's Monica Langley always sounds like a Trump backer rather than a supposedly neutral reporter. AC seems to like her and I wonder if he was behind her becoming a CNN political commentator? I'm not sure I trust her reporting, too pro-Trump.

@JAANZA: I BELIEVE HIS NAME IS JACK KINGSTON, NOT NICK. HE HAS BEEN ON REAL TIME A LOT WITH BILL
MAHER AND HE ALWAYS SEEMED "PLEASANT FOR A REPUBLICAN," UNTIL NOW. NOW HE'S REALLY GETTING ON MY NERVES.
WHAT'S THERE TO SAY ABOUT IVANKA BEING FIRST DAUGHTER IN CHARGE? IT BEATS HAVING FOREIGN FLOTUS, MOTHER OF BARON. AT LEAST IVANKA HAS SOME SENSE AND SOMETIMES SHE ACTUALLY USES IT TO INFLUENCE, DADDY,
PRESIDENT TWEET, HUSBAND OF FOREIGN FLOTUS, FATHER OF BARON, DONALD JR., ERIC, TIFFANY AND LORD ONLY KNOWS WHO ELSE.
I DID LIKE VAN JONES UNTIL HE INTERVIEWED THOSE "POOR SOULS IN OHIO." REALLY?
TRUMP IS GOING TO HELP THEM MINE COAL OR OPEN STEEL MILLS. ON WHAT PLANET? CERTAINLY NOT PLANET EARTH. AND DID VAN JONES HAVE TO BE SO SYMPATHETIC? DON'T TELL ME THOSE PEOPLE INFLUENCED THE ELECTORAL VOTE BECAUSE I DON'T BELIEVE IT.
TONIGHT ON 360 AN AFRO-AMERICAN WOMAN, WHOSE NAME I HAVE FORGOTTEN, ACTUALLY SAID THAT SHE DIDN'T BELIEVE PRESIDENT ELECT TWEET, WAS LEGITIMATE. KAY LEIGH IMMEDIATELY GOT HER BACK UP. YOU COULD ACTUALLY SEE THE HAIRS ON THE BACK OF HER NECK STANDING AN INCH AWAY FROM HER HEAD.
THERE IN WAS THE ARGUMENT I RELATED NOT TOO LONG AGO. IF THE ELECTION PROCESS WAS HACKED, YOU CAN BET OUR PRESIDENT ELECT IS NOT LEGITIMATE. WHY BOTHER HACKING THE CAMPAIGN....THAT'S WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO BELIEVE. THE RUSSIANS INTERFERED WITH THE "VOTING PROCESS, AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT," EXCEPT PRESIDENT ELECT TWEET, WHO STILL BELIEVES HE HAD A MANDATE.

The hacking is all about more excuses for dems. For one thing were was the outrage before the election. Obama said he thought she would win. Wrong. And does Obama really think if Russia did hacking putin would listen to him? This is from a man who draws red lines then does nothing. Who paid Iran billions and 400 million in ransom money. We are less respected around the world because of Obama's foreign policy. World leaders always have the prefrence and most wanted Hillary, the people voted and russia did not hack machines to cheat for trump! Dnc and dems are just a lost group and its very frustrating. This party needs to get it together.. then Obama says, Hillary was treates unfairly by media... lol what world does he live in. The media acted as her super pac and she still lost. One of the reasons Trump won was because pf the lying, cheating, fake news from cnn, nbc, msnbc, abc, cbs, huff post, NYT, wash post etc. While the dems keep whining and creating more fake news, we have a country that needs work and change and healing... dems show no sign of wanting to do any of those things. Sad.

"THE PEOPLE VOTED AND RUSSIA DID NOT HACK MACHINES TO CHEAT FOR TRUMP!" HM HM WELL IF YOU SAY SO.
BUT ACCORDING TO OUR RIGHTFUL PRESIDENT OBAMA, WHO LEGITIMATELY IS OUR PRESIDENT FOR THE PAST EIGHT
YEARS, PUTIN DID A "GOOD JOB OF HACKING THE DNC. ARE YOU CALLING HIM "A LIAR?"
AND WHY WOULD RUSSIA WANT INFO FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, UNLESS THEY INTENDED TO SWAY THE VOTE IN
TRUMP'S DIRECTION?
PLEASE LOOK IN YOUR CYRSTAL BALL AND TELL US WHY THERE WAS HACKING IN THE FIRST PLACE. WE ARE ALL
WAITING PATIENTLY FOR A REPLY.
AND AS FAR AS "DRAWING RED LINES," WE'RE ALL SEEING RED RIGHT THIS MINUTE, BECAUSE OF THE ENSUING CHAOS THAT A TRUMP PRESIDENCY IS GOING TO BRING.
