I missed the very start of Thursday's 360; Anderson was already talking to Pamela Brown regarding the latest on Russian hacking. These are the chyrons which circulated throughout most of the first segment:

"Officials: Intercepted Russian Messages Helped Shape U.S. Intel Assessment"
"Officials: Senior Russian Officials Celebrated Trump Win"
"Officials: U.S. Identifies Go-Between Who Gave Emails To Wikileaks"

After Brown there was a odd 30-second interruption in covering the Russian hacking to show a clip of a Biden interview in which he said Trump should "Grow up!". Then it was back to Ivan Perez and later Jim Acosta for more on the hacking, John McCain's position, Trump's point-of-view and Trump's intel briefing tomorrow.

In the second segment there was a panel of 6 of the usual pundits. I didn't watch but presume they discussed everything covered in the first segment.

Ana Cabrea filed a report on the investigation into the Chicago 4 who beat a mentally-disabled man and put it on Facebook. Anderson asked her a few questions before turning to Jeffrey Lord and Lara Coates for the legalities.

The fourth segment started with a Q&A with Jeff Zeleny over Rep. Paul Ryan's plan to defund Planned Parenthood although they don't use federal funds for abortions and the larger question of the GOP Obamacare replacement. Zeleny said the GOP plan is to pass smaller bills to chip away at the ACA while thinking it will eventually collapse on it's own. The panel of 6 came back and I left.

The panel of 6 was still in session for the last segment of the first hour, this time to discuss "Trump Team Urges GOP To Use Federal Funds To Pay For Border Wall'. I didn't stay.

Anderson started the second hour with the Chicago 4. I didn't watch the rest.
Later Don Lemon started his show with "Trump Will Ask Congress, Not Mexico, To Pay For Border Wall". I don't know who writes the chyrons but I like Lemon's a lot more.

Thanks ATA for Wednesday's Ridicules. I know about "The Bachelor" but seen it only in clips like the one Anderson showed. Yes, the dolphin costume was incredibly goofy but it made Alexis stand out. For anyone who watched the show, do you remember any of the other women? Whether she's a dolphin or a shark, you remember Alexis. And she wouldn't have gotten all this attention from Anderson if she had dressed normally. So she gets points for that but not for originality; I did not know there was a panda in an earlier "Bachelor" season.

Elsewhere on the internet today I read an article on the disappearance of Malaysia flight 370. This was a big topic Anderson and 360 stayed with for several weeks after the plan apparently crashed into the ocean on March 8, 2014. Today a team of mostly Australian scientists have more accurately pinpointed where MH 370 crashed, a site a ways north of the original search area. I thought for sure Anderson would cover this. Maybe he did in the second hour?

Jaanza, 2nd hour topics were same as the first hour. No mention of MH 370 or anything else. I'm over the giant panels as well.

I also thought the coverage of the kidnapping his Chicago was a little over the top. It's being investigated as a hate crime because of the young man's mental disability and not skin color. Chicago police don't believe it was racially motivated. The young man was friends with one of the other guys from H.S. and the parents dropped him off at a McDonald's to meet that friend for NYE. It wasn't until Tuesday that they reported their son missing because they hadn't heard from him. Apparently it wasn't until they met up with the two girls that the torture happened. They are estimating that at about 4 hours. While it is a horrible crime and I'm all for prosecuting those responsible the police are saying it didn't seem to be premeditated or related to race so much of the national coverage is trying to turn it in to something it's not - at least at this point.

I'm waiting for Anderson to bring up the reporting that the rise in violence in Chicago and other parts of IL can be traced to Gov Rauner cutting funding to Cease Fire. A program that has been effective in Chicago and spread to other large cities. Blago cut funding one year and when the crime rate rose funding was restored and it dropped back down again. Unfortunately, IL has a Republican Governor that hasn't presented a budget in the first two years of his administration. There needs to be a compromise of program cuts and a state income tax raise, but Rauner doesn't want to be the one to say that a raise in the state income tax is necessary, so he just doesn't propose a budget and blames the Democratic Congress. Rauner, like Trump, is a business man with no governing experience. So far he's been a huge failure for the state. While Trump can talk about trying to fix Chicago's gun violence, the most he can do is enact common sense gun regulations and encourage Rauner go fund Cease Fire and other programs that put the right people in the neighborhoods to work with citizens/gangs/police to work together.

@anonymous I missed today's show but I caught Anderson's coverage of the kidnapping incident yesterday, and he was careful not to mention race at all? In fact he got criticism for it on twitter. Did that change today?

NOW THAT WE KNOW FOR CERTAIN PUTIN INFLUENCED THE RESULTS OF THE ELECTION, WE SHOULD HAVE A DO OVER. TRUMP IS NOT A "LEGITIMATE PRESIDENT" IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. HE KNEW NOTHING AS A CANDIDATE AND HE KNOWS NOTHING NOW. THE DEMOCRATS SHOULD DO THEIR JOB AND RENOUNCE HIM AND STOP MAKING BELIEVE THE ELECTION RESULTS WERE LEGITIMATE WHEN IT WAS NOT.
TRUMP SAID IT IS A "WITCH HUNT." WELL HE'S THE WITCH AND NOW THE DEMOCRATS SHOULD SHOW SOME GUMPTION AND GET RID OF HIM BEFORE HE TAKES THE OATH OFFICE, WHICH HE DOES NOT DESERVE.
BUT THE DEMOCRATS ARE SPINELESS. THIS IS WHY OUR SYSTEM IS SUFFERING AND WILL CONTINUE TO SUFFER
SO LONG AS THE DEMOCRATS ALLOW THIS TRAVESTY TO MOVE FORWARD.

@Pragya Anderson didn't really make a bold statement about it being a racial incident, but he covered it in both hours and had some push back for a guest who on Wednesday said she didn't think it was a hate crime, but had changed her mind as more information became available. Many on the right are trying to blame it on Black Lives Matter and make it all about race. It's a horrible crime and I do believe that charging with a hate crime is appropriate but more because of the victim's mental illness. There's a lot of gaps in the story that leave me puzzled. The kid met up with one of the kidnappers (a friend from school) for a NYE sleepover. The parents reported him missing on Tuesday because they hadn't heard from him and he hadn't had his medication. The kidnapping apparently was for about 4 hours on Tuesday in Chicago and he and the school friend he originally met up with are from the suburbs. There was a stolen van involved but not much has been said about when the van was stolen and what happened between Saturday night and when he was kidnapped and tortured for the four hours on Tuesday. It's a very strange and horrifying case but I feel there is a lot more information that needs to come out and have a feeling the only reason AC360 covered the story was because the girls involved mentioned Trump in the Facebook video.
