Maybe it was the too many panel discussions but I just couldn't get into Tuesday's 360.

Anderson started with the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals hearing arguments on Trump's travel ban. Pamela Brown provided more info and there were audio clips from the court. Anderson also spoke with Jeff Zeleny for a short and pointless discussion on how Trump's White House is responding because they haven't responded at all yet and won't until the court makes its decision. When a panel of 7 started (2 were via satellite) I changed the channel.

When the second segment began Anderson recapped about the court hearing and had another audio clip focusing on homeland security and the court's role and the President's role in it. Panel again and I left again.

I enjoyed the first part of the third segment when Anderson had several clips of Jake Tapper interviewing Kellyanne Conway about her lies, Trump's lies and the media trying to get the truth. Tapper was very good but Conway is in her own alternate reality and spun spun spun. A different panel started, this one with Jeffrey Lord and Kaleith McEnany and therefore more greasy spinning to come so away I went.

Jen Psaki is probably a very nice person but her segment on 360 was a waste of time. Anderson had a tidbit of news on Trump being disappointed in Sean Spicer. Psaki was Obama's Communications Director; Anderson interviewed her about her job, Spicer, Trump and so on. I didn't pay much attention because I was annoyed Anderson wasn't covering Betsy DeVos' confirmation or the fight now over Jeff Sessions.

In the last segment Anderson introduced the topic of the GOP working to "repeal and replace" the ACA. A decent topic but brought up here and now essentially as a prelude to the CNN Special coming up next of Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz debating this. After a short report and Q&A with Phil Mattingly there was a short debate between Robert Reich and Stephen Moore. It was a good debate but there was nothing new in it.

@ATA - thanks for the heads up on Anderson on "Late Night" tonight; this is really the first I've heard about it.

Panel was really good today because Anderson seemed totally done and was not letting Lord and Kayleigh get away with anything. He actually said "lying from the president, day after day" which is big from him.

The discussion about the lies coming from Trump and Kelly Anne Conway was pretty good. Anderson asked Jeff Lord if it somehow helps Trump to sew doubt about anyone who does critical reporting on him--Lord said that sort of thing has been going on for decades and AC jumped in and asked, "what, lying from a president day after day?" Lord said that conservatives feel that the media is 'tilted' against them--AC jumped in again and said that had nothing to do with whether Trump is lying with intent or is just incredibly badly informed--go AC! Paul Begala made a great point about how Trump is basically trying to undermine the press, the independent judiciary, the intelligence community and U.S. allies because he doesn't want any of them to be a check on him and what his administration's doing--he wants to erode the public's trust in those institutions so that they will only believe what HE says. This may work on Trump's gullible, low-information supporters but not anyone else. Ryan Lizza said that it's typical for politicians to try to discredit the media, AC agreed and said that President Obama tried to discredit Fox News during his administration but Lizza said that what Trump's doing is at a level beyond anything ever seen in modern history and AC said, "well that's true". AC made some very good arguments in this segment on Trump, his own reporting and Kelly Anne's deflecting/lying tactics. I've never heard the word 'lie' and "he lied" thrown around during an AC360 panel as much as on Tuesday night. Looks like AC and his some of his guests have had it with being diplomatic when it comes to the blatant lies of Trump and Kelly Anne.

Weren't we having a conversation once about Anderson and Prez Obama, and I said that I felt like something had happened because AC went from getting all the Obama interviews to none at all? He confirmed that on Seth Meyers yesterday and in an interview today. excerot:

"Even with Trump's Twitter attacks on the media, Cooper says that conflict between the president and the press isn't new. "The Obama White House stopped talking to me for years," he says. "After the BP oil spill, I spent two months in New Orleans, and after that, I seemed to not be on the list of people who got to interview the president any longer. That's totally fine. It's the president's prerogative."

But on Seth he clarified that though confrontation is good and expected, it is completely inappropriate for Trump to call CNN fake news.

PRESIDENT THIMBLE BRAIN, WHO DOESN'T READ WHAT HE SIGNS, DECIDED TO ATTACK NORDSTROM FOR DOING
WHAT THEY CONSIDERED "GOOD BUSINESS." IN THIMBLE BRAIN'S MIND, WHICH IS COMPOSED MOSTLY OF SEA
WEED AND STRAW, GOOD BUSINESS ONLY REFERS TO ANYTHING TRUMP.
IVANKA TRUMP'S CONTRACT WITH THE DEPT. STORE WAS CANCELED IN JANUARY BECAUSE OF A DIP IN SALES. IN OTHER WORDS, NO ONE WANTED TO BUY IVANKA'S JEWELRY, SO NORDSTROM HAD EVERY RIGHT TO
CANCEL WHAT WASN'T SELLING. AND NO ONE WANTS TO BUY TRUMP STEAK OR TRUMP WATER EITHER, SO PRESIDENT THIMBLE BRAIN MAY HAVE TO START SUING EVERY COMPANY THAT ISN'T GOOD TO HIS FAMILY....THAT'S A WHOLE LOT OF SUING.
SO THE MEDIA HEADS HAD THEIR LEAD. SHOULD TRUMP HAVE GOTTEN INVOLVED IN HIS DAUGHTER'S BUSINESS? WELL, DADDY WANTED TO PROTECT HIS DAUGHTER WHO IS A PRIZED POSSESSION IN
TRUMP LAND....THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS A REAL BRAIN, SO IT HE WENT WHERE HE SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE.
THAT IMHO, IS EXCUSABLE. AT LEAST HE READ WHAT WAS ACTUALLY HAPPENING. NOW THAT'S A PLUS.
AND ANY PUBLICITY IS BETTER THAN NO PUBLICITY SO THAT'S A PLUS AS WELL.
THE FACT IS NO ONE CARES. I'M NOT RUNNING OUT AND BUYING IVANKA JEWELRY WHETHER SHE WEARS IT
IN AN INTERVIEW WITH 60 MINUTES OR SHE DOESN'T. PERSONALLY I THINK IVANKA WOULD MAKE A BETTER PRESIDENT THAN HER THIMBLE BRAIN, BECAUSE SHE WAS BLESSED WITH THE ABILITY TO, REASON, WHILE HER "DADDY'S TEMPERAMENT" WILL ALWAYS BE A PROBLEM, AND WE DON'T FEEL LIKE HIDING UNDER THE COUCH WHEN SHE SUBSTITUTES FOR MELANIA.....AT LEAST I DON'T.
AND MELANIA WAS SELLING JEWELRY ON QVC NOT TO LONG AGO....AND I DIDN'T WANT TO BUY THAT CRAP EITHER. (HEY, A GIRL'S GOT TO MAKE A LIVING AND NOW SHE'S FIRST LADY) DO WE CARE??
MICHELLE WILL ALWAYS BE FLOTUS IN MY BOOK ANYWAY.

@Pragya, I remember Anderson's coverage during the BP oil spill and I remember being annoyed with the negative slant AC and his guests would always take when it came to how the president was handling the situation--AC would have folks like LA Lt. Gov Billy Nungesser (formerly president of the Plaquemines Parish Commission) and others on nearly every night bashing President Obama (unfairly, IMO) and rarely having anyone from the Obama Administration or any other liberal voice to counter them (this was BEFORE the Obama Administration iced AC out), I don't blame President Obama for not wanting to speak with AC. Whatever criticism Trump gets from the press is MORE than justified, but much of the criticism of President Obama by AC and others has been questionable--AC treats Trump fairly even though Trump has trashed him and CNN and won't appear on the network--I don't think AC gave President Obama the same courtesy after HE declined to be interviewed by Anderson--instead of balanced reporting on President Obama, AC360 seemed to go the opposite way, not reporting on the president at all unless it was a phony GOP scandal they could hype. Meanwhile there's a balanced approach on 360 when it comes to their reporting Trump.

YES, I REMEMBER DISTINCTLY AC ALWAYS CRITICIZING THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION. IT SEEMED TO START
RIGHT AFTER HE HAD AN INTERVIEW IN SPAIN....THE FAMILY WAS ON A TRIP AND AC WAS GIVEN ACCESS
TO FOLLOW THEM THROUGH SOME CAVE. RIGHT. IT SOUNDS LIKE SOME DREAM SEQUENCE, BUT I KNOW MICHELLE WAS ON
THE TRIP AND SHE TOOK HER YOUNGEST DAUGHTER DURING OBAMA'S FIRST TERM.
SOMETHING HAPPENED ON THAT TRIP AND OBAMA HAD EVERY RIGHT NOT TO GIVE AC ACCESS.
THAT'S PRETTY MUCH WHEN AC'S CRITICAL ANALYSIS STARTED OF THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION.
CNN SHOULDN'T WANT ACCESS TO TRUMP. HE NEEDS THEM MORE THAN THEY NEED HIM. WHO WANTS TO INTERVIEW A PRESIDENT WHO LIES....PURPOSELY. HE'S SUCH A CHILD.
VERY GLAD THE COURT RULED AGAINST HIS "TRAVEL BAN." I DON'T HAVE ANY FEELING EITHER WAY, BUT THE MORE THE JUSTICE DEPT. HEMS "HIM IN" THE BETTER. HE WAS NOT ELECTED "DICTATOR" BY ANYBODY.

I am not saying that it wasn't justified, I am just saying that it was, in fact, a deliberate icing out, which is what I had been wondering about.
Anderson gets very emotionally involved with New Orleans. Remember him losing it at the Republican senator over Katrina? So that could explain his obsession with the oil spill.

But CNN also had issues with Obama currying favor with certain reporters in exchange for lighter coverage, Brian Stelter mentioned it a few days ago. I guess they were trying to balance out the fawning coverage. Anderson is obsessed with balance. Libra rising and all. If you have read any of his recent interviews he says he obsesses about his internal bias all the time and therefore likes to keep people with opposing views on his shows. Which could explain all the conservatives on his show. And if he feels that the press coverage is too negative on trump, he will try to balance that out too. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that is the right approach to take. But it's his approach.
