Anderson Cooper 360 on Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Anderson Cooper anchored AC360 in the 8pm and 9pmET hours from CNN's Washington, D.C. Bureau.  During the second hour Anderson interviewed Nancy Pelosi.  Only a small portion of the interview made it to air, but the entire interview was posted on the AC360 website and we've included it below.

I still don't like gargantuan panels. Tuesday's 360 started with news on the GOP healthcare bill. After an overview by Anderson there was a report by Phil Mattingly on Trump at Capitol Hill trying to wrangle votes for it, the chances of it passing, the opposition among some in the GOP for it and the minor changes that were made to it. During Anderson's Q&A with Mattingly there was a clip of Rep. Tom Garrett (R-VA) explaining why he's voting no. When the panel of 7 started I went to Hayes.

Anderson talked to Jeff Zeleny about Trump totally dropping any talk about his own wiretapping claim. They covered Sean Spicer also not dealing with it, whether Trump will apologize, his credibility and his approval ratings. Panel of 7 again so bye bye.

"Ivanka Gets West Wing Office and Security Clearances" was the chyron and I missed hearing who did the report on what Ivanka's been doing, her conflicts of interest and her unclassified position. Oddly, the panel here was only Gloria Borger, David Gergen and Ryan Lizza. They discussed how odd and unprecedented this is, her conflicts of interest especially financial, wondered why she got security clearances and why she's meeting with head of state.

There are new questions about former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort. There was a clip of Sen. McCain expressing his concerns about Manafort's connections to Russia and a clip of questions about Manafort from the Congressional hearing yesterday. Anderson interviewed Rep. Jim Hines (D-CT) on why Manafort should be questioned by the House Intelligence Committee. Anderson also asked a question or two about Trump's wiretapping delusion in this interview.

The last segment of the first hour had Rene Marsh's report on Al Queda intelligence being a factor in the electronics ban to 10 Mideast / African airports.
Anderson previewed the start of the second hour: same as the first.

I'll try to find the time tomorrow to watch Anderson's interview with Nancy Pelosi.
The Instagram photo of Lilly is adorable! Such a cute doggie!

Thank you for posting the entire Nancy Pelosi interview--it's nice to hear the liberal perspective on 360 for a change instead of all of the Trump junk. Anderson seems to be concerned about Democrats blocking Trump's agenda and not compromising or working with the Republicans--I've said it here before but AC never asked any Republicans what THEY'D be willing to compromise on with President Obama--instead we got 8 years of the GOP obstructing most of his agenda. I wish AC had been this concerned about compromise when the GOP decided they would say no President Obama no matter what. And why is AC trying to spin the Trump/Russia/collusion/corruption as a problem for DEMOCRATS? He keeps harping on how Dems will look bad if it turns out that there was no coordination/collusion between Trump and the Russians--the Democrats are NOT the problem here--no matter HOW it turns out, what we know NOW about Trump/Russia has already eroded any trust the public may have had in him and continues to damage his credibility (what little there is to begin with). Don't try to make this about the Democrats. After the Pelosi interview aired, AC had a panel of Republicans and non-partisan reporters talking about the future of the Democratic party--they couldn't get ONE Democrat to hang around after the first hour to sit on this panel??

NANCY PELOSI NEEDS TO BE MORE AGGRESSIVE WHEN SHE SPEAKS. SHE SHOULD HAVE SAID TO ANDERSON,
"THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE DEMOCRATS. THIS IS NOT A DEMOCRATIC PROBLEM. THIS IS ABOUT A PRESIDENT WHO HAS RUSSIAN TIES. ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS CONNECT THE DOTS. WE DO KNOW THAT THE TRUMP SERVER HAD 2800 EMAILS RELATED TO RUSSIAN OPERATIVES. WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT? WAS THAT ALL BUSINESS RELATED AND YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THERE IS NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST HERE?
WHY WERE SO MANY RUSSIAN OPERATIVES WORKING FOR THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN DURING THE SUMMER?
DON'T TRY TO "SPIN THIS ANDERSON, AS A DEMOCRATIC PROBLEM." DONALD TRUMP IS INCOMPETENT AND YOU KNOW IT. HE SAYS OUTRAGEOUS THINGS AND THE MEDIA, LIKE YOURSELF, GIVES HIM A PASS AND SAYS "IT'S HIS STYLE." WHAT STYLE?" HE'S TACKY AND RECKLESS AND USES TWEETS TO PASS JUDGEMENT ON PRESIDENT OBAMA THAT WERE VICIOUS AND OUTRIGHT LIES. WHY DO YOU GIVE HIM A PASS SO EASILY? WE COULD HAVE AN ILLEGITIMATE PRESIDENCY HERE AND THE MEDIA IS CHASING THE WRONG
STORY."
THAT'S WHAT PELOSI SHOULD HAVE SAID AND SPUN IT RIGHT BACK TO ANDERSON. THE PRESS ELECTED TRUMP PRESIDENT AND FOCUSED ALL THEIR POSITIVE ENERGY ON HIM, AND THEY ARE STILL DOING IT.
THE RIGHT STORY IS HOW TRUMP GOT TO BE PRESIDENT THROUGH RUSSIAN OPERATIVES AND WHY TRUMP ALWAYS GLORIFIES PUTIN INSTEAD OF INSINUATING THAT HE IS THE ENEMY OF THE UNITED STATES. "THE POLLS ALL WEREN'T WRONG. THE POLLS SHOWED HILLARY AS THE WINNER, BUT SOMEONE TAMPERED WITH THE PRESIDENCY AND THAT SOMEONE ALLEGEDLY, HAD RUSSIAN TIES, ANDERSON."
NANCY PELOSI IS TOO MUCH OF A LADY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH SOMEONE A BIT LESS TACTFUL
AND FORTH RIGHT. FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE AND DON'T EVER LET ANDERSON COOPER GET THE BETTER OF YOU. THIS IS A STORY ABOUT ILLEGITIMACY AND SALVAGING OUR DEMOCRACY.
