Anderson Cooper 360 on Monday, April 17, 2017

Anderson Cooper anchored AC360 from the NYC studio in the 8pm and 9pmET hours.  During the 8pm hour there was a segment with Robert Reich and Jeffrey Lord debating Trump's refusal to release his taxes:

It pretty much validated the following video posted by Vox today :  CNN's approach to covering politics prioritizes drama and spectacle over truth telling.  AC360 seems to include at least one such segment each program.  Anderson seems exasperated at times, but apparently Zucker produces every hour of CNN now.

Anderson definitely seemed exasperated during the debate between Robert Reich and Jeff Lord--it's probably getting more difficult for AC to hide his frustration with these kinds of segments. The Vox video hits the nail on the head about CNN. I always felt that Trump's criticism of CNN was phony--Trump gets exactly what he wants from Jeff Zucker, tons of surrogates on CNN to defend him 24/7--CNN gets the drama and arguments they hope will attract viewers--it doesn't seem to matter to Zucker that CNN credibility is tanking. Jake Tapper recently said that Zucker is the best boss he's ever had--it's hard to imagine any other anchors/reporters feeling the same way. I guess Jake Tapper got his week-long primetime show that's happening next week after he gave that compliment to Zucker, lol.

JAKE TAPPER ISN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO COMPLIMENTED JEFF ZUCKER.
IN A RECENT ARTICLE, ANDERSON HIMSELF, COMPLIMENTED HIM AND SAID HE LIKED WORKING FOR HIM.
ANDERSON IS GOING TO ENDURE ANY BOSS WHO FEEDS HIM HANDSOMELY AND NO, HE WILL NEVER CRITICIZE HIM. MONEY ALWAYS TALKS LOUDER THAN ANYONE ELSE.
CNN IS SPECTACLE BUT AS LONG AS THEY HAVE ANA NAVARRO AND CARL BERNSTEIN, WHO BRING OBJECTIVE REASONABLE
ANALYSIS TO THE PANELS, I WILL STOMACH JEFF LORD.
HAVEN'T SEEN BLONDE AMBITION LATELY. NOT THAT I MISS HER ROUND, SOULFUL, DEWY EYES.

Yes, Cappy, you're right, AC did say some complimentary things about Zucker, but I wonder how he REALLY feels about the direction Zucker has taken CNN--pointless debates between guests with different levels of credibility, etc. Sometimes AC seems irritated and bored with those segments, but who knows?

I wish CNN would send Jeff Lord to wherever Blonde Ambition is located right now.

JUST THINK, NOW THAT BILL O'REILLY NEEDS A HOME MAYBE JEFF ZUCKER CAN MAKE HIM A CORRESPONDENT
FOR CNN OR BETTER YET, GIVE HIM A SHOW AS A "HUMP SURROGATE." WE CAN CALL IT "THE HUMP AT CNN." IT CAN FOLLOW JAKE TAPPER'S "THE LEAD." ALL'S FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR.
