Anderson Cooper 360 on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017 & Catching Up With Anderson

Anderson Cooper was back in the AC360 anchor chair after a four day weekend.  (See photos from  his Instagram account below.)  Anderson anchored both the 8pm and 9pmET hours from the NYC studio.  During the 8pmET hour Anderson had an interview with Senator Al Franken.  Enjoy!

Anderson posted the following to Twitter tonight.

According to TVNewser:
CNN says it will rethink Kathy Griffin‘s participation in its New Year’s Eve special which she has co-hosted with Anderson Cooper for the last 10 years.

This comes after Griffin took part in a photo shoot in which she holds the severed, bloody head of Donald Trump.

“We found what she did disgusting and offensive,” a CNN spokesperson told TVNewser tonight. “We are pleased to see she has apologized and asked that the photos be taken down. We are evaluating New Year’s Eve and have made no decisions at this point.”

Anderson posted a few photos and a video to his Instagram account from his trip to Venice this past weekend:

I was totally shocked to see Anderson interview my Senator Al Franken on 360 - in the FIRST HOUR! - on Tuesday. Six months ago I never would have expected to see one of the most liberal senators on the show. It's a good segment and besides the serious questions it looks like Anderson had fun with Franken.

The Daily Beast is reporting CNN has fired Kathy Griffen from the New Year's Eve show. Personally I'm okay with this because I've never liked her sense of humor. First-Amendment-wise it bothers me because where was CNN's outrage during the Obama Presidency at all the times he was hung in effigy? However none of those idiots were employed by CNN even if only for one day of the year.

I've been burned out of posting. A big factor was being irritated by 360's content and panels and watching a lot of Hayes. Although seeing Franken was a terrific step in the right direction, brainless Trump parrots like Jeffrey Lord are still on way too often.

@Jaanza I'm so happy to see you post. I've thought about you several times and hoped that everything was okay with you. You aren't alone in being exasperated with AC360's content and the giant panels.

I'm not sorry to see Kathy Griffin gone from CNN's NYE coverage. Her style isn't for me and I just felt her schtick got stale after a couple years. While I like Anderson, three hours of giggling and acting outraged was too over the top for me. I do feel the Republican's and especially Trump have no moral high ground to take. While I don't agree with what Kathy Griffin did, she did apologize. Trump nor the Republicans have never apologized for all the outrageous things said and written and images shown of President Obama over 8 years. The "party of family values" has no values and they can't suddenly re-claim the moral high ground over this.

And yes, I really liked Anderson's interview with Al Franken and I think he did, too!

YES, WHERE WAS THE MORAL OUTRAGE WHEN CNN KNOCKED THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AGAIN, AND AGAIN!
I TOO AM NO FAN OF GRIFFIN AND THOUGHT SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED LONG AGO. I FEEL NOTHING BUT AMBIVALENT ABOUT WHAT SHE DID. AND WHY DOES ANDERSON CONTINUE TO CATER TO THAT STUPID JFEF
LORD. HE WAS ON TONIGHT ON EVERY PANEL AND WITH FAREED ZAKARIA NO LESS. FAREED IS AN INTELLECTUAL AND JEFF LORD IS A MADE UP SCREWBALL.
MISSED YOU JAANZA BUT UNDERSTAND YOUR FRUSTRATION WITH 360. I BET KELLY RIPA WILL REPLACE GRIFFIN WITH AC AND I WOULDN'T WATCH HER EITHER.

AL FRANKEN IS OFTEN ON REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER AND HE IS FAR FUNNIER WITH ANOTHER COMEDIAN.
HE SURPRISINGLY HAS BECOME A POLITICAL FORCE THAT WE NEED. AL UNDERSTANDS THE SYSTEM AND HE IS ABLE TO GET INSIDE HIS OPPONENT'S HEADS, LIKE TED CRUZ. HE IS ALSO A GOOD NEGOTIATOR, A VERY RARE QUALITY THAT IS MISSING WITH OUR CURRENT LEADER, WHO HAS PROVEN TO BE NOT ONLY A TRAITOR, BUT COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY CLUELESS ABOUT HOW WASHINGTON NETWORKS. THE SOONER THIS COUNTRY IS RID OF HIM, THE BETTER OFF WE ALL BE.
