Anderson Cooper on Wednesday, July 5, 2017

With Anderson in the Tahitian Islands, the very capable John Berman was in the AC360 anchor chair in the 8pm and 9pmET hours.

Andy Cohen posted the same photo with a slightly different caption!

Andy posted a 4th of July message from himself and Anderson:

IS ANDERSON EVER HOME?? GOOD TO SEE HIM WITH HIS FRIEND ANDY COHEN FROM BRAVO. THEY HAVE REALLY BECOME GOOD FRIENDS OVER THE YEARS OR BUSINESS PARTNERS.
I ALWAYS FEEL SORRY FOR LILY, HIS NEW DOG. ANIMALS NEED THEIR OWNERS.

Wednesday's 360 with John Berman had three topics: North Korea's missile test, Trump at the G20 Summit and states refusing to provide voter data to Trump's voter fraud commission. The first four segments of the first hour was a mixture of North Korea, Trump and the G20 with a couple of reports, a few Q&As with reporters and a few chats with various pundits. Several of the pundits were new to me; I guess most of the regulars are on vacation this week.
The best segment was Berman's interview with Fareed Zakaria (fourth segment) on several world politic topics.
I also enjoyed Berman's interview with LA Secretary of State Tom Schedler about his reasons for not complying.
At the very end of the first hour Berman previewed the topic for the start of the second hour (North Korea missile test) and had a promo for the CNN special "The Nineties".

During the first hour of 360 I also watched a bit of Hayes and noticed he also covered North Korea and the G20 but also had time for the protests against the GOP healthcare bill facing Senators back home and a segment on Trump's war with the media. Since Trump's media rants have often been focused on CNN I wished Berman on 360 and the CNN website had more about this, the stupidness of Trump's attacks and the danger of losing the free press in this country.
In short, I agree with Pragya's post from yesterday.

Nice photos of Anderson on vacation; I hope he has a great time and relaxes and comes back next week raring to go at Trump's latest blunder. And I hope Lily is in a safe cozy place with friends she knows so she wasn't too freaked out by the fireworks.
