I was 7 minutes late to Thursday's show. Anderson had just finished covering some poll numbers about Trump and started talking with David Challian, David Gergen and Ana-Malika Henderson. The chyron at this time was a very wordy and two-line "Trump Tries To Change The Subject From Off The Rails Remarks To Tweets About GOP Senators, Monuments and Gen. Pershing". I was distracted during most of the discussion but did hear "stability" being brought up a lot.
Anderson should have had, and maybe did, a few minutes about Barcelona at the top of the show.

The second segment was devoted to the Barcelona terror attack which killed 13 and injured 100+ more. ISIS has claimed responsibility, two suspects have been arrested, another is on the run. After narrating the video report, Anderson spoke with Paul Cruickshank and Becky Anderson about the attack, the suspects, the victims, the police investigation in Barcelona and in Cambrils to the south and the possible second attack or accidental bomb explosion perhaps in preparation for another attack.

Back to Trump. "Presidential Councils Scrapped After Trump's Charlottesville Remarks" was the chyron as Anderson talked to Cornell West and Bishop Harry Jackson Jr. Topics included: CEOs taking a stand, the big picture on justice, Trump's remarks, the issue of blacks helping Trump, the importance of church and the importance of morality.

There was a short Barcelona update with Becky Anderson concerning the 4 terrorists shot dead in Cambril. Then Anderson read a tweet from Tony Schwartz, the author who wrote Trump's "Art of the Deal". Schwartz believes Trump will resign. Anderson interviewed Schwartz about a possible resignation, Trump's isolation, him pushing away allies, major problems in the administration and the Russia investigation. Schwartz on Trump, "He's been deceitful and manipulative for fifty years" and that if he resigns Trump will blame someone else for it and portray himself as a victim. The interview needed with Schwartz's comments on Trump's latest remarks and the subject of moral equivalency.

I didn't see the start of the last segment of the first hour. When I came back to 360 Anderson was already interviewing Rabbi Thomas Getherz of Charlottesville about what has happened in his city and how he feels about it.
This last segment went slid into the second hour and therefore I didn't see the end either. Maybe I'll catch it all on 360's late night repeat.

P.S. Okay, I just read CAPPY's comment in yesterday's post about Anderson opening the show with Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) comments on Trump's stability... or lack thereof. Although Lawrence O'Donnell also started his show with Corker's statement, I still think both shows should have started with Barcelona. At least for today people losing their lives because of terrorists feels more important. Trump has been unstable for a while and will continue to be unstable and will continue to be President until the majority of GOPers finally see how dangerous he is.

YES, THEY BOTH SHOULD HAVE STARTED THEIR SHOWS WITH BARCELONA, BUT TRUMP'S INSECURITIES GET HIGHER RATINGS AND THEY BOTH HAVE PRODUCERS. THERE REALLY ISN'T MUCH WE CAN DO ABOUT EITHER PROBLEM EXCEPT EXCHANGE VIEWS, AS WE ARE DOING RIGHT HERE.
AND TRUMP GAVE ANOTHER INCOMPLETE, INCOHERENT, RESPONSE TO BARCELONA.....BECAUSE IN THE END, EVERYTHING IS ABOUT HIM. DIDN'T HE START TO PROMOTE HIS WINERY IN VIRGINIA, DURING HIS RANT ABOUT BOTH SIDES BEING WRONG? I'M SURPRISED HE DIDN'T START TO SELL HIS STEAKS!

I can't forgive Cornel West for his non-stop Hillary Clinton and Pres. Obama bashing and his role in getting 45 elected but he was right when he praised AC's coverage of the neo-Nazi/white supremicist travesty.
