Anderson Cooper 360 on Wednesday, September 13, 2017

Anderson Cooper anchored AC360 in the 8pm and 9pmET hours from the NYC studio.  Much of the first hour was devoted the Hurricane Irma stories before his interview with Hillary Clinton began.  Almost all of the second hour was devoted to his Hillary Clinton interview and a panel discussion following.  The program ended with a report from Bill Weir who made it to Key West by boat!

Anderson was also on The Lead and The Situation Room to promote his Hillary Clinton interview.

What a wonderful interview. Really makes you wonder if Hillary had been allowed to be this candid with the press during the campaign, would people have had the same negative perceptions of her? I think her campaign was so worried about her likability that they inadvertently hurt her even more.

Also I think Anderson got a lil flustered when she complimented him! I am glad she said he was one of only a couple of media folk to deserve praise, especially after many of her supporters (even on this blog) accused Anderson of treating her badly.

WHILE I REALIZE HILLARY WAS PROMOTING HER BOOK, I COULD NOT STOP LOOKING AT HER TURQUOISE EARRINGS. THEY MUST HAVE COST A SMALL FORTUNE.....OR A PARTIAL SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT.
VERY FLATTERING. (YES, I KNOW IF SHE WERE A MAN, I WOULDN'T BE LOOKING AT WHAT SHE WAS WEARING.)....AND THAT WAS ONE OF HER POINTS.

I wonder if Anderson's interview with Hillary Clinton was taped earlier today, meaning Wednesday. I wonder if he didn't have this interview scheduled for today would he have stayed in Florida for another day or two? I also wonder if the Hillary interview was taped a month ago.

Anderson spent some time with a review on his upcoming Hillary Clinton interview before getting to the lead story which is still all the devastation Hurricane Irma left behind. Today came news of 8 people found dead in a nursing home that hadn't had electricity in days. I left 360 to finish a task in the kitchen and when I came back Anderson was interviewing two family members of a woman who died in that nursing home. Ed Lavendera's report focused on a handful of people and how they are coping with no electricity. Randi Kaye's report was on the rescue missions hoping to find survivors. At the end of their reports Lavendera and Kaye each had Q&As with Anderson.

A reporter on St. Croix who's name I didn't get had a report on the damage in the Caribbean especially on St. Thomas, St. Martin and St. John islands. It was the standard report on damage, devastation, lack of electricity, lack of supplies and the need for aid.

Gary Tuchman reported on a couple returning to their flooded Jacksonville home. Much of Jacksonville is still flooded and I'm sure this couple's experience was repeated thousands of times over all across Florida. The second half of the third segment was Anderson talking to Jeff Zeleny's about Trump's White House conducting a smear campaign against former FBI Director James Comey; they also covered Democrats Schumer and Pelosi having dinner with Trump.

Before the Hillary Clinton interview was shown (except for clips earlier in the show) Anderson had a profile of what she's been up to since the 2016 election and statements she has made about her loss. Anderson's first question was on why she wrote her book "What Happened" now. I didn't watch, switched to Hayes. Although I voted for Hillary, right now I'm not interested in studying why she lost even from her own point of view.

Because I didn't watch, I also didn't see any questions or answers which would have obviously told me if the interview was taped a month ago or simply earlier today. Who watched? Any guesses on when it was taped?

JAANZA: I'M GUESSING AT THIS TOO. AC SAID HE READ HER WHOLE BOOK AND GAVE THE IMPRESSION IT WAS TAPED THE WEEKEND OF THE HURRICANE. CNN BOUGHT THEIR OWN COPY LAST WEEK, THE WEEK BEFORE IRMA. IF AC DID READ HER BOOK OVER LAST WEEKEND HE READ BY CANDLE LIGHT OR A GENERATOR SUPPLIED BY CNN. IT IS STILL UNCLEAR. HIS INTERVIEW TOUCHED ON THE FIRST CHAPTER ONLY, BECAUSE
I HAVE HILLARY'S BOOK. SO IT IS ANYONE'S GUESS WHEN THE ACTUAL INTERVIEW TOOK PLACE.
SHE SAYS SHE TAKES FULL CREDIT FOR THE LOSS, BUT WHEN YOU DIG DEEPER, SHE BLAMES EVERYONE BUT HERSELF.

@The ATA Team - Thank you! So Anderson did have to get back to NYC for this. I really think he would have stayed in Florida one more day if he could have.
