Taking Delays to the Nth Degree

I was digging around for an Nth Degree where Anderson talks about The View since he is scheduled to be on the show this coming Friday. What I found instead was a clip that would have fit perfectly in my February 4, 2007 post "Taking $%#* to the Nth Degree.

It is from April 2, 2004, a few months after the "Janet Jackson nipple ripple" (Anderson's words, not mine). Yes, he mentions The View, especially Star Jones. I laughed the first time I saw this. His expressions are so funny.

I went to The View's website and they are calling Friday's show a "Special Edition" saying it is "a preview of Fall politics, television, film and fashion from Anderson Cooper, People, Entertainment Weekly and Nina Garcia. Guest co-hosts are both Caroline Rhea and Melissa Claire Egan." It is also their last show until September. They are on hiatus the entire month of August.

I didn't have any luck finding an Nth about the Tonight Show. This is his first appearance with Jay Leno but it supposedly isn't his first appearance on the Tonight Show. According to IMDB, he was on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson on September 17, 1970. I haven't seen the video and Johnny Carson's official website doesn't have his mom listed as a guest that evening so who knows. Maybe when he goes on the show, Jay will dig out Anderson's first appearance and embarrass him a little.

Good Nth degree - wish we could still find the one he did about how cold it was!!

@Phebe - the tie was gorgeous with those eyes wasn't it?? I love that shade of blue....I think it should be renamed Anderson blue.

I sincerely hope Leno embarrasses him with a clip - wasn't he 3 when he was on? Can you think how adorable that would be? 3 year olds are so cute.

LOL I hadn't seen that one before - hilarious! Thanks.

Well, I like Caroline Rhea, so that'll help make sitting through The View a little easier. And I really do hope that a photo or clip exists of his first appearance on The Tonight Show.

@annie kate...We do have the "Taking Your Temperature to the Nth Degree Below Zero" clip posted in our archives. It was from January 14, 2007. Here is the link: Shearer, Anderson, and some You Tube

@sapphire...LOL, I thought about putting a disclaimer about the skips but decided I'd ruin the effects if I tried to explain it.

Okay, so I wasn't the only one who didn't get it at first! LOL!

Thank you as always, Ms. Quitty. I love those Nths!

Nothing to add, just pleased that my computer and safari have decided to let me stop by here again. (it was quite odd how they just wouldn't).

Did you say Anders is going to be on Leno?

@AA, Glad to see you figured out how to create a Blogger identity. Now to add a picture. Click on your blogger name (in comments) and it will bring you to your profile. Click on edit profile and scroll down to where it says add a photograph. You'll need to take a favorite and resize it to meet the restrictions but it's not that hard. If you have trouble just email me and I'll try to help.

I have always wondered why Gloria brought Anderson on Johnny Carson and didn't bring Carter with her as well. Anderson was on Hollywood Squares (is that the right show) but don't think Carter was on that or any other shows that I know of. Is anybody aware of anything Carter may have appeared on?

Awww! Isn't he qute and handsome!

@ Quitty, Thanks for posting the picture I think he's gorgeous in that picture.
I haven't seen anything yet that I didn't like he looks handsome in everything that's just my opinion.

As for as Jay Leno I can't wait to see Anderson first appearance, I hope they show the old appearance from 1970 that would be great.

Also I want to tell the ladies thank you for putting your hard work into this blog pages you guys do an excellent job.

Speaking of delays, TVNewser is reporting that the next CNN/You Tube debate will be delayed until Deceomber.

http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/

Next CNN/YouTube Debate May Be Postponed
Time Magazine's Swampland says the Sept. 17 GOP CNN/YouTube debate is being moved back, possibly to December. Only two of the GOP candidates had committed to the debate which was planned for Sept. 17. The Washington Post reports Mitt Romney agreed to participate, if CNN moved the date.

Meanwhile, in what is either the sincerest form of flattery or recognition of the user-generated web world, the National Review Online's Greg Pollowitz says next Sunday's GOP debate on This Week with George Stephanopoulos will include questions from viewers. ABC's site says "George will put some of the top rated questions (either video or email) to the candidates at the debate!"

All 10 GOP candidates will be in Iowa for that debate.

Ohhh I can't wait to see AC on Leno's show! You can def. bet Leno will find some way to embarass poor Anderson! (Methinks Quitty is correct-- Leno will replay the old tape of his mom and him on the show waaaay back.) BTW-- why is AC going on Leno's show this time around? It would have made sense when he was promoting his book but the paperback has been out for awhile now...

The "nipple ripple" - how cute is that!!

I've never seen The View except for a couple of clips on YouTube. I'll certainly watch it if Anderson is on. I am looking forward to seeing him the Tonight Show. Last week's 360 was so uniformly depressing, it will be doubly delightful to get a full dose of AC humor.

I'm glad the Repubs are reconsidering the YouTube debate. Mitt Romney annoyed the crap out of me when he said something to the effect that he was too important to be questioned by a snowman. I don't think anyone should have any kind of public office who does not possess a sense of humor!!! This man takes himself way too seriously.
