Taking Mascots to the Nth Degree

Don't forget to watch a shirtless Anderson interview Michael Phelps tonight. From CBS' website here is Anderson talking about the interview he did with Michael.

And I thought I'd post an Olympic related Nth entitled Taking Mascots to the Nth Degree.

Tonight taking mascots to the Nth Degree. So ready or not, watching or not, the Olympics are here. Time for us all to fall in love with and buy lots of products emblazoned with the new adorably cuddly Olympic mascots.

Are you ready to meet them? Here they are, Phevos and Athena. According to Olympic organizers, this distorted duo are, despite those tabloid rumors, brother and sister quote, "full of vitality and creativity, perhaps mischievous and hence lovable."

Bob Costas on the other hand called them a genetic experiment gone horribly, ghastly wrong. Sure it is easy to mock the mascots but when you peek at the mall of mascots that have before them, they aren't so bad. Remember the "what is it?" What was that all about?

There have been plenty of mascots who have made us scratch our heads over the years through summers and winters. We're still trying to figure out what this one was all about. In response to criticism, Greek Olympic organizers say, come on. Actually, they're Greek so they say, Eh la (ph), give these mischievous and hence lovable mascots a chance. We say, Phevos and Athena, chin up, you may not have chins, but we love you anyway.

Cute Nth Degree, Quitty. Thanks for sharing.

YAY...shirtless Anderson sunday nite!!! I'm going to have to watch that interview from the naughty chair. Anyone care to keep me company there???

It looks like it is going to be a great interview though. Can't wait to see it. I like Michael Phelps and it will be interesting to hear what he has to say.

Thanks for the Nth Degree, Quitty. Anderson's right, those mascots often look pretty weird, lol.

I'm sure that everyone that can watch '60 Minutes' will enjoy it immensely and that the naughty bleachers will be very crowded, lol.
I'll have to wait for the clips to be posted here, but untill then I'll just re-watch the clip of Anderson swimming over and over and......:D

Sadly, it seems people are watching this more to see Anderson shirtless than for the piece itself.

Anon 4:27 pm - I faithfully have watched all of Anderson's "60 Minutes" reports. It does not matter if he's shirtless or not, I would still watch him interview Michael Phelps.

Seeing Anderson swimming is the icing on a really good cake you were going to eat anyway... while sitting in the naughty bleachers.

Right now football is pushing back "60 Minutes."
I hate it when that happens.

Anderson's piece is the last one on 60 Minutes. The other two pieces look very good but I'll sit though them to see AC.

@Anon 4:27.....have a sense of humor. Just a little fun being had. This is a smart bunch of people, who respect Anderson for the work he does... It's just good natured kidding. It's only a piece on Michael Phelps for god's sake. In this sad, difficult time in the world, we all need a little levity. Take the shirtless comments lightly....

I am in agreement with 4:27PM. Most of the comments are not about the actual piece but about how AC looks.
As for the piece itself, I found it to be very informative. I especially liked the part about Michael's mother obtaining a contract with Chico's clothing line. She was at all his swim events wearing outfits from Chicos.
I also couldn't believe how much Phelps had to consume each day to keep his calorie intake up. We should all have that problem.
