Don't forget to join us, here at All Things Anderson, when we live blog during Anderson's NYE broadcast. The program begins at 11PM Eastern, we hope you'll join us for the festivities. Julie found this interview posted on Flickr from last Sunday's New York Daily News. In it AC talks about doing the NYE program from Times Square, Kathy Griffin, what he does to keep warm during the broadcast and that there are no after parties for him. I've dug deeper into the ATA Vault then I think we've ever gone before for tonight's clips. Both are from ABC's WNN and were orginally broadcast on December 24, 1999. The first shows Anderson Cooper doing a fake commerical for a product to help with painful television watching. How many of us CNN watchers could have used just such a product in the last year?

Breaking ATA News:
Cyn has agreed to moderate an ATA live blog during Anderson's New Year's Eve program on Thursday night. We did one last year and the year before and found it was a great way for readers to join the celebration even if they can't be in Times Square with AC and Kathy. If you want to participate please check back in at ATA at the start of CNN's NYE program and click on comments to join in the conversation. Maybe we'll even fire up the Anderblue martini fountain?
Unlike the hardworking AC360 staff and crew I am not ready to end my holiday break just yet. So I've dusted off a few goodies from the ATA Archives for you to enjoy. ~Phebe
Back in the day when AC360's writers were allowed to be bright and clever Anderson Cooper used to take topics from the headlines to the Nth degree. By that we mean he would examine them in witty, amusing ways.
In these two Nth's AC takes a look at Bono saying 'This is really, really fucking brilliant'. Bono did this on national television during the 2003 Golden Globes. The FCC ruled that the singer used the word as an adjective thus making it permissible.
Here's Cooper's original take on the subject:

It's awfully cold here and judging by reports, many of you are suffering from an overload of snow, ice, and cold weather as well. I guess there are colder places we could be. Enjoy these shots of Anderson filming PIP in Greenland. Brrr....

One thing Anderson has figured out is that if he wants to be successful he needs to surround himself with talented people. One person Anderson depends on every time he goes on location is CNN senior producer Charlie Moore. Cyn found an article about Charlie on the Athens (GA) Banner Herald website.
In the article, Anderson says "Charlie is the best producer I've ever traveled with. He is incredibly hard working. Even in the midst of very stressful situations, he is able to keep things in perspective and able to laugh at the absurdity of situations we sometimes find ourselves in. If I was in a jam anywhere in the world, there is no one I'd rather be with than Charlie Moore. I trust him completely. His talent, his judgment and his sense of fairness and decency are remarkable."
And Charlie says in the article, "Anderson is a compelling guy, a great reporter and has a passion to see the story and report on the facts. It is a wonderful experience to be on his team. My job is one in which I get excited thinking about the day when I come in each day."
Here is Charlie with his brother, Duncan in a Georgia Alumni magazine article ATA covered back in September 2007.
And here are some pics of Charlie hard at work...

ABC News recently announced George Stephanopoulos and JuJu Chang would be joining the Good Morning America team. Stephanopoulos will anchor the broadcast with Robin Roberts and Juju Chang has been named the news anchor for GMA.
JuJu Chang has anchored at ABC in the past. She was the co-anchor along with Anderson Cooper at the World News Now overnight desk from 1999 until 2000.
Barry Mitchell, who performed musical parodies on WNN penned this musical number for JuJu and Anderson in honor of the WNN Bus Tour. Enjoy!

In December of 2005 ATA was only about a month old and still struggling to find its way. I wrote a poem for my Christmas post that year, never realizing that Anderson had also written an homage to Clement Moore, for a Christmas Nth Degree, a few years before.
Every year, whether for good luck or just because I'm lazy, I repost Anderson's Christmas Nth and my poem.
The ladies of All Things Anderson wish all of our wonderful readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
