Ashleigh Banfield was in the AC360 anchor chair Friday night, for the vacationing Anderson Cooper. Due to the breaking news on the Trayvon Martin case, the fourth segment of the 'Kids On Race' series did not air. The following advertisement, for a Sunday night special, aired during AC360.

I only caught the last 1/2 hour of 360 last night but I really liked what I saw. Ashleigh was excellent. Lots of knowledge and energy, she really seemed to be engaged, not just going through the paces. Hope to see her back very soon.
Phebe,
I totally agree. When I tuned into 360 and saw the breaking news on Treyvon Martin, I was like not again. But unlike Anderson (after day two of the story) and Wolf, Ashleigh held my interest. She was well prepared, knowledgeable and engaged -- all signs of a good interviewer. She asked the tough questions, held people accountable for their words and there was no talking over/yelling. I thoroughly enjoyed her in the anchor chair.
I, too, hope to see her back very soon and think CNN could be making a big mistake by putting her in a morning time slot. I don't watch CNN in the mornings. If I were CNN management, she'd be in prime time.

I like Ashleigh too, but I do not think she can carry a show of her own. She would need a co-host. She had a prime-time show on MSNBC after 9/11 that did not last very long.
Ashleigh was on MSNBC years ago as a day anchor/field reporter and I've always wondered why they let her get away. l've always enjoyed her. I don't watch her in the mornings because I was extremely happy when Zoraida left Chicago.
Megyn Kelly could teach Anderson a thing or two about how to deliver the news.
On TVN she is quoted as saying "The key is to give them the news, but not bore them to death." duh?
'You listening Anderson because according to your pristine ratings, we are all bored to death on 360.
The time when you could just show up and we'd all go "ga ga" is over.
