Debate Night October 11, 2012

Anderson was in Washington D.C.  for CNN's coverage of the V.P. Joe Biden vs. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc) debate and joined Wolf for the last hour of The Situation Room, for the start of the special coverage.

Pre-debate, Anderson's main focus was leading a discussion group with chief political analyst Gloria Borger, senior political analyst David Gergen, as well as Paul Begala, Alex Castellanos, Van Jones, Mary Matalin and  John King.

Post debate coverage was anchored by Anderson and Wolf; and included the same pre-debate panel.  In the field for the coverage were Soledad O’Brien, Erin Burnett, Candy Crowley, Brianna Keilar, Dana Bash, Jessica Yellin and Jim Acosta.  Anchor John Berman and correspondent Tom Foreman provided the 'reality check'

And Anderson and Wolf had a little fun at the end of the post-debate coverage ~

Anderson will have his first 60 Minutes story of the season air on Sunday ~
James Bond - Maybe one of the neatest tricks Agent 007 has been able to perform is keeping the James Bond film franchise alive and well for 50 years. Anderson Cooper talks to current Bond actor Daniel Craig and to Barbara Broccoli, whose family has produced the films since 1962.

Anderson tweeted this photo during the debate coverage ~

From Reuters; sorry, I couldn't resist!   ~

Thanks, ATA, for watching CNN cover the debate so I didn't have to. I know these debates are important to lots of people, perhaps mostly for independents who haven't made up their minds yet.

The video clip of Wolf and Anderson and their glasses was cute.

Thanks also for the news about Anderson's upcoming '60 Minutes' report. Several days ago one of the Anonymous posters complained about Anderson dooing only celebrity-themed topics for '60 Minutes'. While he has done a heaping handful of them, off the top of my head I can think of PlumpyNut, saving the congo gorilla, saving the Cuban coral reefs and gangs in L.A. In short, Bond films is a fluffy-brain topic but not all of Anderson's '60 Minutes' reports have been fluffy-brained.

Ben Affleck was on Bill Maher's program promoting his movie Argo, and he is very politically astute.
He is one celebrity I take seriously when he speaks about Democracy, and captalism.
At least Bill allows him to speak about what he is interested in whether he agrees with him or not.
He has been a regular contributor on his program every year and seems to enjoy engaging with the rest of the panel.
On Anderson Live, there is no panel, or at least none that is worth engaging.
