Anderson reported on the latext from Baghdad - the oil refinery, Al Maliki, ordinary Iraqis, insurgents and government forces. Nic Robertson and Arwa Damon added more details on the attitudes of Iraqis, the worry of Christian Iraqis and life in ISIS-controled Mosul. Lots of very good information.

The second segment started with a video interview with Martin Chulov... which I didn't watch. Hayes' was covering the U.S. Patent and Trademark's decision to cancel the trademark for the Washington Redskins. I really wanted to hear more about this and was certain it wasn't going to be on 360.

I also didn't pay close attention to the segment on the capture/arrest of the Benghazi attack mastermind. Barbara Starr delivered a good report and Fran Townsend and Robert McFadden were there for the panel. I wondered if this story would have got this much time if some big-name GOPers weren't kicking up a fuss about the guy's custody location and his upcoming interrogation.

Randi Kaye had a history report on Libya, Egypt and Iraq and their similar experiences in getting rid of a despot and then falling into chaos and sectarian violence. It was an okay report but I think it would have been better if Anderson talked to Fareed Zakaria for the entire segment. Zakaria had a few minutes after Kayes' report but he's on 360 so rarely and is such the right guy to talk to nowadays so he should've had more time.

My apologies to Gary Tuchman and his report on the soldiers at Fort Hood TX and how they feel about the situation in Iraq. I just got a little burned out on the all-Iraq hour and switched to Hayes.

Anderson didn't say one word about Dick and Liz Cheney's op ed in the WSJ. By chance I saw the start of the 10 PM News Tonight and was glad to see Don Lemon talk about it. Lemon only spent a minute or so stating his point of view on the op ed but it was good. (It was right before he introduced Anderson, where the above post video post starts.)
Lemon said the op ed was "laughable but not funny", he stated facts refuting some of the Cheneys claims and how the Dubya administration was responsible for the current Iraqi mess.
Maybe Anderson just hasn't seen Cheneys op ed yet.

Anderson said ISIS is only 37 miles away from where he is in Baghdad--I'm not sure how long he's going to want to stay in that location. Gary Tuchman's piece on Iraq veterans was surprisingly balanced.
